Michael Kidd-Gilchrist is working with coaches to fix the "hitch" in his jump shot.

The knock on MKG coming out of school was that he was going to have to improve his perimeter game, and he's doing exactly that in advance of his first professional season. He's going to be tasked to do a little bit of everything for the Bobcats, and should be targeted in the later portion of your draft as he's definitely worth a high-upside flier.

James Harden scored 22 points with two rebounds, eight assists, two steals, two blocks and five 3-pointers in 35 minutes.

After the game, Harden said he still doesn't have his wind back, but you wouldn't know it based on how he came up huge late with a filthy step-back triple against Stephen Curry (video in link below). Yesterday, coach Mike D'Antoni said he was going to play him around 30 minutes, but on Saturday he added there was a "little bit of a tug of war" with him and someone else regarding the minutes cap. Harden probably won't have a cap against the Heat on Monday.

Lou Williams ended up with 31 points and a franchise-record 10 steals in Saturday's 125-113 loss at Utah.

Williams broke the previous record held by his head coach Doc Rivers. He also finished 9-of-21 from the field, 2-of-8 from behind the arc and a perfect 11-of-11 from the free-throw line, while adding seven assists, two rebounds and just three turnovers across 40 minutes. Williams' name has been bandied about in trade rumors connected to the Cavaliers, and a game like this certainly improves his already high stock.
Jan 20 - 11:50 PM

James Johnson scored 22 points with six rebounds, seven assists and one 3-pointer in 29 minutes against the Hornets on Saturday.

He ran the offense a lot in this game because the Heat basically had no point guard -- not counting Josh Richardson. Johnson was a lacking some burst coming into this game, but he looked much better on both ends. Plus, he managed to score five points in four seconds to help the Heat earn a big win. His owners should feel a little better and can expect him to be a mid-round guy.
Jan 20 - 10:46 PM

Kemba Walker scored 22 points with three rebounds, seven assists, three steals and one 3-pointer in 37 minutes during a 106-105 loss to the Heat on Saturday.

This was a bad, bad loss for the Hornets to drop them to 18-26. They had the ball with a five-point lead and 37 seconds left, but Nic Batum turned it over twice and the Heat came through with James Johnson scoring five points in four seconds. This loss will probably heat up the trade rumors even more for the former All-Star. Walker's fantasy owners should be rooting for him to stay put.
Jan 20 - 10:41 PM

Nicolas Batum scored a season-high 26 points with three rebounds, six assists, three steals and one 3-pointer in 33 minutes against the Heat on Saturday.

Maybe this will help his trade value. Earlier this week, ESPN reported the Hornets are looking to get Batum's contract off the books, but it's not going to be easy with Batum having his worst season in years. He's still an OK hold in standard leagues.
Jan 20 - 10:30 PM

Jrue Holiday scored 27 points with five rebounds, eight assists, one steal, one block and one 3-pointer in 37 minutes against the Grizzlies on Saturday.

He's become one of the most consistent players in the NBA and is doing it all on the stat sheet this month. His usage rate has only slightly dropped this season to 22.2, but the difference has been his pristine 58.3 TS% -- that blows away his previous career-high 53.2. Holiday looks like a lock for early-round value.
Jan 20 - 10:12 PM

Maxi Kleber will start on Saturday night against the Blazers.

The Mavs will go back to their old lineup to get some extra size out there. Kleber is not a lock to play double-digit minutes.
Jan 20 - 10:08 PM

Khris Middleton posted 23 points with 14 rebounds and 10 assists across 40 minutes Saturday at Philadelphia for his first-career triple-double.

Middleton did a good job picking up the slack with Giannis Antetokounmpo (knee) sidelined. The Greek Freak will be out again on Monday, so Middleton has a chance to put up another monster stat line against the visiting Suns, a team that owns the worst scoring defense in the NBA. You'll want Middleton in your DFS lineup for that one, too.
Jan 20 - 10:07 PM

Wayne Selden exploded for a career-high 31 points in 27 minutes against the Pelicans on Saturday, adding two rebounds, two assists and five 3-pointers.

That 31 destroyed his previous career-high of 13. He was the star of Las Vegas Summer League and he was expected to be the favorite to start opening night, but a quad injury in October kept him down for most of this season so far. Andrew Harrison (shoulder) didn't play today and it's not like he's totally safe, so maybe Selden gets some additional run. He's still more of a 16-team flier for now, but there is opportunity for him if you want to see how this pans out.
Jan 20 - 9:29 PM

Wayne Ellington scored 26 points in the starting lineup against the Hornets on Saturday, adding three assists, one steal and six 3-pointers in 37 minutes.

He looked great in the first unit today and he certainly is going to give coach Erik Spoelstra something to think about as a possible starter even when Goran Dragic (knee) can return. Ellington has the greenest of lights and is up to 3.0 treys per game on the year, and now he's starting to see minutes in the 30s to increase his season average of 25.3 minutes per game. He's worth owning in standard leagues right now.
Jan 20 - 9:29 PM

JaMychal Green (right ankle) will not return to Saturday's game against the Pelicans.

He suffered the injury much earlier in the game, but he wasn't ruled out until the fourth quarter. Hopefully, this injury isn't going to cost him too much time, but getting ruled out in a close game is discouraging. Green's bad injury earlier this year was to his right knee. He finished with eight points, 16 rebounds and one steal in 24 minutes. Jarell Martin and Ivan Rabb will be filling in for him tonight with Martin being worthy of a speculative add in deep leagues.
