Lakers sign G/F Chris Douglas-Roberts.

CRD earned a camp invite with the expectation that he'll play for the Lakers' D-League affiliate. He fell off the radar after playing in Italy during the lockout, but has enough upside to be worth a low-cost gamble for L.A.

Michael Kidd-Gilchrist (shoulder) will have an MRI in Charlotte Thursday to determine the severity of his injury.

He was taken to a hospital where doctors would pop the shoulder back into the joint. This is the same right shoulder that needed surgery for a torn labrum, so he is likely going to miss several games. Expect Jeremy Lin to benefit most while P.J. Hairston starts again. Frank Kaminsky will also benefit now that Marvin Williams will play some SF again.

Markieff Morris had a scuffle with Archie Goodwin in the first half on Wednesday, finishing with 19 points, eight rebounds, four assists, one steal, one block and one turnover.

It wasn't a minor one and Morris had his hands on Goodwin's throat. The Suns did downplay it after the game. "That’s nothing," Morris said. "That’s part of being a leader, being a big brother." Morris defines leader differently than just about anyone, but Goodwin also had his back. "We family. It happens. I love him like a brother, he loves me. That’s all there is to say about it," Goodwin said. Lastly, coach Earl Watson added Goodwin and Morris used to live together, they're "the closest on the team" and that "the team is not split."

Jusuf Nurkic came to life vs. the Pistons on Wednesday with 16 points on 8-of-12 shooting, 11 rebounds, two assists, one steal and one block in 24 minutes.

Nurkic played the final 15 minutes of the game ahead of Nikola Jokic, which is a terrific sign for anyone who has him stashed away. He'd exceeded the 20-minute mark just once all season prior to this double-double, and this is enough incentive to grab him in deeper formats. Owners in 12-team leagues may want to wait until the other side of the break before tying up a roster spot with the trade deadline impending.
Feb 11 - 12:46 AM

Jared Sullinger thrived in 30 minutes of action vs. the Clippers, posting 21 points on 10-of-15 shooting, 11 rebounds, seven assists and one steal without any turnovers.

Sullinger grabbed four of his boards on the offensive end and was nearly automatic from mid-range, a welcome sight for a guy whose offense has waxed and waned all season. He took advantage of extra playing time tonight with Kelly Olynyk (shoulder) getting hurt and Amir Johnson (back) limited, so owners shouldn't expect 30 minutes a night after the break.
Feb 11 - 12:16 AM

Isaiah Thomas poured in 36 points with 11 assists to help Boston win in OT on Wednesday, connecting on 12-of-21 FGs and 11-of-12 FTs in an electric duel vs. Chris Paul.

Thomas went shot for shot with CP3 down the stretch, and he rounded out his fantasy line with one 3-pointer, four rebounds, one steal and only two turnovers in 40 minutes. It's another emphatic reminder why he made the All-Star team ahead of guys like Kemba Walker and Khris Middleton.
Feb 11 - 12:14 AM

J.J. Redick shook off a minor ankle injury to finish Wednesday's overtime defeat with 27 points, two 3-pointers and three rebounds, making 9-of-14 FGs and 7-of-8 FTs in 38 minutes of action.

Redick's efficiency is remarkable and he's anchoring his fantasy value with lights-out shooting beyond the arc -- he's averaging 2.8 triples per game since Jan. 1, which ranks eighth during that span behind J.R. Smith, Paul George, Klye Lowry, James Harden, Damian Lillard and the Splash Brothers. His usage may take a slight hit when Blake Griffin gets back on the court, but that's the only knock on his rest-of-season outlook.
Feb 11 - 12:10 AM

Chris Paul tied his season high with 35 points vs. the Celtics on Wednesday, adding 13 assists, five rebounds, three steals and one block in an OT loss in Boston.

The Clippers lost for only the third time in their past 15 road games, an incredible feat given the injuries they've endured. CP3 appeared to have a minor hand injury but he played through it and should have plenty of time to recuperate during the much-needed All-Star break -- it obviously didn't affect him tonight, as he drained 13-of-21 FGs and 6-of-9 FTs with three triples.
Feb 11 - 12:07 AM

Jahlil Okafor came up huge vs. the Kings on Wednesday, scoring 26 points on 11-of-18 FGs and 4-of-5 FTs with 10 rebounds, five assists and two blocks in 39 minutes.

Okafor had some rookie moments defensively, and he earned Brett Brown's ire by failing to box out for a few rebounds, but the good easily outweighed the bad tonight. It must be noted that Nerlens Noel (knee) wasn't available tonight, gifting Okafor more minutes and touches in the paint -- the 39 minutes tied a season high set back on Nov. 14.
Feb 10 - 11:54 PM

Robert Covington lit up the Kings on Wednesday for a career-high 29 points with seven 3-pointers, while adding five rebounds and six steals in 32 minutes of action.

Covington did turn the ball over seven times but his owners can overlook that, and these are the games that make holding him worthwhile. RoCo's shot hasn't been falling lately but he's jacking up 6.2 triples over his past five games, and should maintain a steady 25-30 minute role the rest of the way. The good news for Philly's lottery odds is that that his efforts were squandered tonight, as the Sixers blew a double-digit lead in the fourth quarter.
Feb 10 - 11:52 PM

Taj Gibson (foot) said he's been playing through sore left ankle for awhile.

This is the same ankle he had surgery on back in the offseason. Gibson suffered a foot strain on Wednesday, which is likely due from the ankle injury and compensation. Gibson played through ankle pain last year and it backfired on him, so the Bulls might be careful here. It's not a bad idea to grab Bobby Portis until Taj is cleared to play.
Feb 10 - 11:47 PM

Evan Fournier drained 10-of-20 shots including three 3-pointers to finish Wednesday's game with a team-high 28 points, five assists, two rebounds and only one turnover in 42 minutes.

Tobias Harris (ankle) was out again tonight which shifted more opportunities to Fournier, who made the most of the situation with his highest-scoring game since Nov. 18. He drained a key 3-pointer to tie the game at 96-96 after blowing a big fourth-quarter lead, but the Magic couldn't answer a Kawhi Leonard jumper with less than a second on the clock. It's a tough way to head into the All-Star break.
