Eric Gordon has experienced no swelling in his right knee, but he's expected to meet with team doctors this week.

It's the same knee that required arthroscopic surgery in February, and it's a troublesome sign that he's already going to be looked at by team doctors. Gordon brushed off any concern and called it simply "a little aggravation," and also said "I'm looking forward to getting ready and progressing during camp." It's not the way Hornets wanted to start the season after giving Gordon a four-year, $58 million max contract in the offseason.

Gary Harris scored a career-high 36 points during a 124-118 loss to the Celtics on Wednesday, adding three rebounds, six assists, two steals and three 3-pointers in 38 minutes.

This was a highlight fest and it was not your 2016-17 version of Harris as most of his buckets were without much help from his teammates. Harris has really blossomed as a scorer with at least 21 points in four of his last six games. Harris' usage rate has increased to 19.9 this season while it hasn't hurt his efficiency too much. He is posting third-round value in standard leagues and there's little reason to think he'll be dropping off from that output as long as he's healthy.
Dec 13 - 11:33 PM

Jamal Murray pulled down a career-high 10 rebounds against the Celtics on Wednesday, adding 28 points, four assists, three steals and four 3-pointers in 36 minutes.

He was very good as a shooter, making all six from the line and 9-of-17 from the field. Coach Mike Malone has always wanted to see Murray get downhill as a scorer and that's exactly what happened against a great defensive team. Plus, Emmanuel Mudiay took another huge step back in this loss despite Murray posting a +8 in plus-minus. Murray has turned in two outstanding games in a row and it'll be interesting to see if this momentum can hold up with Nikola Jokic (ankle) set to come back on Friday. The Blue Arrow's fantasy owners have to be feeling really good after a rocky start to his season.
Dec 13 - 11:27 PM

Jonathon Simmons handed out a career-high eight assists in a losing effort on Wednesday, adding a team-high 20 points, six rebounds and one steal in 39 minutes.

This marks Orlando's eighth consecutive loss to the Clippers, a streak going back to Nov. 2013. Simmons did all he could for the short-handed Magic, but finished 6-of-17 from the field and 6-of-8 from the FT line -- Orlando as a team shot just 42.2 percent. Simmons should continue to have a glaring green light offensively until the Magic get guys like Aaron Gordon and Evan Fournier back in the mix.
Dec 13 - 11:12 PM

Mario Hezonja piled up season-highs on Wednesday with 17 points, nine rebounds, four assists, three blocks and one steal in 35 minutes.

The blocks tied Hezonja's career-high, and he was also efficient with 6-of-11 shooting, including a pair of 3-pointers. Arron Afflalo (back) joined the parade of injured G/Fs for the Magic tonight, a list that included Evan Fournier (ankle), Aaron Gordon (concussion), Terrence Ross (knee) and rookie Jonathan Isaac (ankle). Hezonja could drop out of the rotation once healthy bodies filter back into the lineup, but he'd be worth streaming if he gets another start vs. Portland on Friday.
Dec 13 - 11:11 PM

DeAndre Jordan hauled in 20 rebounds vs. Orlando on Wednesday, adding 16 points on 8-of-13 shooting, three assists, two steals and two blocks.

After some up-and-down times in November, DJ is cruising through six December games with averages of 14.2 points on 69.1% shooting, 17.3 rebounds, 1.8 assists, 1.5 blocks and 0.7 steals. That's been good enough for top-30 value, despite his lousy free-throw shooting, and the return of assist maestro Milos Teodosic can only help.
Dec 13 - 11:06 PM

In his second game back from a plantar fasciia injury, Milos Teodosic racked up eight points, six rebounds, six assists, two 3-pointers, one steal and one block in just 25 minutes.

Teodosic hit a critical 3-pointer in his return on Monday, and the Clippers are now 2-0 since he got back. He missed 22 games with his injury and will need some time to regain his conditioning, but the early returns are promising. The lone caveat tonight was a 2-of-9 mark from the field -- he only attempted one shot within 19 feet, so that's not a big surprise. Make sure he's not sitting on your waiver wire.
Dec 13 - 11:02 PM

Kyrie Irving scored 33 points with one rebound, seven assists, one steal, two blocks and four 3-pointers in 33 minutes against the Nuggets during a 124-118 win on Wednesday.

That's a season high in scoring for the Celtics as they also surrendered their most points this season. A 30-point game is nothing special for Irving these days with seven of those in his last 13 games, after he had just one in his first 15 as a Celtic. As per usual, Irving was tremendous in the fourth with his nine points on just five used possession (four FGA, one turnover) and his two blocks also came in the fourth. Irving's 40.9 usage rate in the fourth is even more impressive when you consider he has a 59.6 TS% and he keeps his turnovers down. Apparently, coach Brad Stevens has a secret about making his point guards play amazing late in games.
Dec 13 - 10:53 PM

Luc Mbah a Moute (left shoulder) went to the locker room in the second quarter on Wednesday and will not return.

He was hanging on the rim and had an awkward landing. It looked like his knee may have hyperextended, but Mbah a Moute was also favoring his left arm as he went back to the locker room. The team ruled him out fairly quickly, so hopefully there's no structural damage. If he's out, that means more run for Ryan Anderson, P.J. Tucker and Nene.
Dec 13 - 10:40 PM

Thaddeus Young filled up the boxscore on Wednesday with a season-high seven steals, 11 points, 10 rebounds (five offensive), three blocks and one steal in 38 minutes.

Thad has always been a unique source of steals from the PF position, and his career-high is eight swipes (also vs. the Thunder, in Jan. 2014). Early in the season it looked like a Myles Turner/Domantas Sabonis pairing could threaten Young's minutes, but that was obviously a false alarm -- Thad's minutes have actually increased each month this season, to 35.2 per game in December. Tonight's huge line should bump him into the top-40 over the past month (9-cat).
Dec 13 - 10:29 PM

Steven Adams was a monster during Wednesday's 100-95 win in Indiana, putting up 23 points on 11-of-16 shooting, 13 rebounds (nine offensive), one assist and one block.

Adams is in the midst of his best NBA season, recording career-highs in scoring (13.7 points per game), percentages (64.6% FGs, 64.0% FTs), rebounds (8.5) and steals (1.3). In addition to bone-crunching screens and a whopping 4.7 offensive rebounds per game, Adams is adding a respectable 1.0 blocks. He's eradicating preseason expectations as a top-50 fantasy value, and there's no reason to suspect he'll slow down.
Dec 13 - 10:26 PM

Paul George faced the Pacers for the first time since being traded to OKC, finishing a 100-94 road victory with 12 points (3-of-14 FGs, 4-of-4 FTs), five assists, three steals and two rebounds in 33 minutes.

George was relentlessly booed by the home crowd in Indiana, something he knew was coming. "[If] I get booed, I get booed. It's part of the game," he said. "It'll make for a good show, and I'm looking forward to it." The hostile reception may have played into his poor shooting (he also committed four turnovers), but he salvaged the line with dimes, steals and a pair of 3-pointers. His focus now is on helping OKC make the playoffs -- with a 13-14 record, the Thunder are tied with Utah for the No. 8 seed in the West.
