Damian Lillard looked fantastic in his NBA preseason debut with 14 points on 6-of-11 shooting, five boards, seven assists, two threes and two turnovers on Wednesday.

Not a bad way to start his career for one of the favorites for NBA Rookie of the Year. He has the upside to provide his fair share of points, assists and threes on offense while adding some steals on the defensive side. We're not shying away from taking Damian Lillard in the early-middle rounds of drafts.

X-rays on P.J. Hairston's left shoulder were negative and he's listed as day-to-day with a contusion.

We don't expect to see him in uniform on Wednesday, but at least it's not a long-term injury. Hairston shot 32.3 percent as a rookie and is nowhere near being a standard-league fantasy asset.

Gerald Henderson had a left hip debridement arthroscopy on Tuesday, and the Blazers expect him to be ready for training camp.

The 27-year-old Henderson had surgery on the same hip in 2011, reportedly because of a "congenital defect" in his hip, so this isn't an encouraging start to his Blazers career. He still projects as Portland's starting shooting guard on opening night and is a capable scorer, but contributes limited across-the-board stats and hasn't returned standard-league value since 2012-13. He's not a likely fantasy asset even if he holds off C.J. McCollum for the starting SG job all season.

Anthony Davis will play center "quite often" for coach Alvin Gentry, who believes New Orleans can "play big but guard small."

Davis spent nearly half of his minutes at center during the 2013-14 season, but last year he was almost exclusively a power forward. He's a matchup nightmare for anyone, let alone slower centers, and Gentry sounds committed to an up-tempo approach that should suit the talents of Davis, Jrue Holiday, Tyreke Evans and Eric Gordon. Consider yourself blessed if you land Davis on draft day.
Jul 7 - 8:30 PM

Russ Smith made a game-winning floater in double-overtime on Tuesday, propelling the Grizzlies to a 73-71 win vs. the Orlando Magic 'Blue' team.

Smith came off the bench but finished with a team-high 20 points on 9-of-12 shooting, two 3-pointers, three rebounds, three assists and two steals in 28 minutes of action. The outburst may turn a few heads but Smith, who has played 12 games in his NBA career, is obviously not on the fantasy map.

Jusuf Nurkic (knee) said that everything is going good in his recovery from offseason knee surgery, but he would not commit to an official return date.

"Everything is going good," said Nurkic. "[Trainers and doctors] tell me that everything is good. I feel so good, but I must be patient day-by-day." When asked if he'd be ready for training camp Nurkic responded: "It's not important for now. Let's think about the next 15 years, not one month before, or one less." We'll be tracking Nurkic's progress closely this offseason, but he'll have the starting center spot locked up in Denver and should make for a quality late-round pick on draft day.

Alan Anderson is reportedly nearing an agreement to join the Wizards.

The deal is reportedly for one-year at $4 million, and he will provide the Wizards with some solid backcourt depth. He could potentially take away some minutes from Otto Porter, so we'll be watching Washington's rotations develop closely leading up to the regular-season. Anderson is a nice pickup for the Wizards, but he won't be getting enough floor time in Washington to make a difference in standard fantasy leagues.
Jul 7 - 5:23 PM

Troy Daniels went off during Tuesday's Summer League game vs. the Nets, scoring 16 points on 5-of-11 shooting to go with 14 rebounds, two assists, four 3-pointers and two turnovers over 30 minutes of action.

Daniels looked great today, but he's not going to get anywhere near 30 minutes per game during the regular-season. He could however earn himself a sixth man role with the Hornets, as he does provide Charlotte with some much-needed 3-point shooting, although he still won’t be much more than a 3-point specialist in deep leagues.
Jul 7 - 5:14 PM

Unrestricted free agent Jason Smith has signed with the Orlando Magic.

The deal is reportedly a one-year, $4.3 million contract, but he'll have a tough time cracking the rotation in Orlando. In an ideal situation with the Knicks last season, Smith was only able to compile averages of 8.0 points and 4.0 rebounds per game. He won't have any fantasy value in Orlando.
Jul 7 - 4:17 PM

Aaron Gordon had yet another solid showing during Tuesday's Summer League game vs. the Grizzlies, posting 22 points on 8-of-19 shooting, to go with three 3-pointers, seven rebounds, four assists, one steal, three blocks and five turnovers.

Gordon was also a perfect 3-of-3 from the charity stripe, and he continues to destroy the lesser competition at Summer League. He has clearly put a lot of work into this game this offseason, although he'll be fighting for minutes with Tobias Harris next season, which really limits his upside. Still, he could be worth a late-round flier in deep leagues in next year's fantasy drafts if he can keep up his play.
Jul 7 - 3:56 PM

Unrestricted free agent Wes Johnson is reportedly finalizing a deal that will land him with the Clippers.

Johnson will play backup minutes to Paul Pierce in Los Angeles, but as long as Pierce is healthy, Johnson won't have much fantasy value in standard leagues.
Jul 7 - 3:20 PM

Gerald Wallace has been traded to the Warriors for David Lee.

While the Warriors could use the stretch provision on Wallace, it’s being reported that they plan on keeping him. Wallace will bring a veteran presence to the Dubs’ championship locker room, but he’ll have plenty of games where he doesn’t even leave the bench. The change of scenery for Wallace will not have an affect upon his non-existent fantasy value.
