Kobe Bryant (strained foot) sat out another practice on Sunday, and his status for Tuesday's season opener is in doubt.

Kobe has repeatedly proven his mettle but he's obviously in serious pain, and the Lakers only have one more practice before games become meaningful. Even if he doesn't play in the opener, we doubt the Black Mamba will be sidelined for more than a few games.

Milos Teodosic, Lou Williams, Wes Johnson, Jamil Wilson and DeAndre Jordan are listed as the starters in the game notes against the Heat on Saturday.

Teodosic will be back today after he got the night off on Friday. He played two games since his return with 21 minutes in the first and 25 minutes in the second, so he may be closer to 30 in this game. He's been off to a slow start, but Teodosic has upside in assists and 3-pointers.

An MRI confirmed Aaron Gordon (right calf) has a strain and he will not play against the Pistons on Sunday.

The damage to his calf showing up on an MRI is not great, but it is encouraging that Gordon will be joining the Magic on their two-game trip. He will get treatment and his target date will depend on how he responds. While he's out, Mario Hezonja figures to get another chance as the starting power forward, which means Wes Iwundu may be starting at small forward again. Gordon's fantasy owners may have to plan on another option this week while other Magic players like Jonathon Simmons and Nikola Vucevic have higher ceilings.
Dec 16 - 2:21 PM

De'Aaron Fox (right quad contusion) is doubtful to play agains the Raptors on Sunday.

The good news is he is day-to-day and the better news is he practiced on Saturday, but it would appear the Kings will hold him out. The doubtful tag suggests Fox could be missing additional games because the Kings want to be careful, which means Frank Mason should see an uptick in minutes and is worth an add in 14-team leagues. It's also possible Bogdan Bogdanovic or Buddy Hield get the start, which would help George Hill even more.
Dec 16 - 2:15 PM

Otto Porter (hip) did not practice on Saturday and is considered questionable for Sunday's game vs. the Cavs.

He was unable to return on Friday night after taking on contact after just three minutes of action. Porter is probably going to be a game-time call, but not practicing today is not a good sign. If he's out, it'll be more Kelly Oubre as a popular DFS play while Jodie Meeks, Markieff Morris and Mike Scott could also get an uptick.
Dec 16 - 1:58 PM

Aaron Gordon (calf) is listed as out in preliminary injury report for Sunday's game vs. the Pistons.

Gordon suffered a right calf strain in the second half of Friday's loss to the Blazers and was unable to return to the game. Gordon is scheduled to undergo an MRI on Saturday, and we are still awaiting the results. Evan Fournier (ankle) is also listed as out for Sunday's game. Jonathan Isaac and Arron Afflalo (back) are listed questionable. Mario Hezonja will likely draw another start on Sunday.
Dec 16 - 1:20 PM

Clint Capela (left heel contusion) is listed as questionable in the game notes for Saturday's matchup vs. Milwaukee.

Capela unexpectedly popped up on the injury report Saturday. This is solely a game-notes designation, and we have not yet heard from coach Mike D'Antoni or Capela regarding the injury. Nene (rest) was expected to sit out Saturday's game, as it is the second night of a back-to-back. If both Capela and Nene are sidelined on Saturday, Tarik Black would likely start and log a season-high in minutes. Ryan Anderson would also see time at center as a stretch-five. We'll pass along an update on Capela once it's available.

Rudy Gobert has been diagnosed with a sprained PCL in his left knee and a bone bruise in his tibia and is expected to be sidelined for one month, according to Shams Charania of Yahoo.

There was some hope late Friday night that Rudy was only dealing with a Grade 1 MCL sprain, but this report obviously indicates it's a far more serious injury. Derrick Favors (eye) put up terrific numbers when Gobert was sidelined in November. Although Favors received six stitches on Friday and is questionable for Saturday's game, he is undoubtedly the biggest beneficiary in terms of fantasy value over the next month. Ekpe Udoh and Jonas Jerebko will also see an uptick in minutes.
Dec 16 - 12:52 PM

Chandler Parsons (rest) has been ruled out of Saturday's game vs. Boston.

It's certainly not surprising to see Parsons sidelined on Saturday, as he played Friday and has not suited up for both ends of a back-to-back all season. In addition, he has been battling back pain this week. Parsons has shown occasional flashes of upside this season, but his minutes limit and frequent resting significantly reduce his fantasy value.
Dec 16 - 12:49 PM

Tyreke Evans (right hip) is listed as questionable for Saturday's game vs. the Celtics.

Evans did not play Wednesday but looked solid in his return to the lineup on Friday night. He finished with a game-high 22 points, three assists, two rebounds, one steal and four triples in 30 minutes. We will likely have to wait until coach J.B. Bickerstaff addresses the media 90 minutes before tipoff to receive a final update on Evans's status for Saturday's contest.
Dec 16 - 12:48 PM

Derrick Favors (left eye laceration) "will probably attempt to play" in Saturday's game vs. Cleveland, according to Jazz reporter Tony Jones.

Favors received six stitches after getting hit in the face on Friday night and was unable to return to the game. The Jazz could certainly use Favors on Saturday, as they will be without Rudy Gobert (knee), who was also injured in Friday's victory over the Celtics. We should expect an update on Favors status later this afternoon. If Favors is unable to suit up, Ekpe Udoh will likely start and play all the minutes he can handle.
Dec 16 - 12:31 PM

Coach Rick Carlisle said Dennis Smith Jr. (hip) is "getting closer and closer" and could return for Monday's game vs. Phoenix.

Smith has already been ruled out of Saturday's contest vs. the Spurs. However, he will have an individual workout on Saturday in San Antonio before the game. If Smith looks solid in workouts this weekend and avoids a setback, he may be on track to play Monday vs. the Suns. The Mavs also play on Wednesday and Friday of next week. We should have a complete update by Monday afternoon.
