Manu Ginobili (back) will not travel to New Orleans for the season opener and will be reevaluated on Thursday.

Ginobili has dealt with back spasms throughout his career, and while the Spurs were downplaying Manu's absence, it sounds like he could be dealing with something more serious than previously reported. We're concerned since he's being ruled out for the opener, and there is a very real possibility that he'll be out longer than that. Danny Green, Stephen Jackson and Kawhi Leonard should all see a boost in minutes with Ginobili sidelined.

Rockets' head coach Kevin McHale believes that James Harden (ankle) will suit up for Friday's game vs. the Nets.

Harden is already a must-start guy every time he's in uniform, and with a very favorable matchup against the Nets, he's someone to strongly consider in daily leagues. He will be without a minutes restriction, and had a 30-point outing with a full line during his last matchup against Brooklyn, so make sure you have him on your active roster.
Feb 27 - 6:21 PM

Evan Fournier (sore right hip) will not suit up for Friday's game vs. the Hawks.

With Fournier and Aaron Gordon (ankle) unavailable, Victor Oladipo and Tobias Harris are going to be forced into heavy minutes, and both figure to be decent plug-and-play options in daily leagues.
Feb 27 - 6:15 PM

Andrea Bargnani and Cleanthony Early will start on Friday night against the Pistons.

Jason Smith will move that the bench. Bargnani had a 30.7 usage rate on Wednesday, so this isn't a big surprise. He has been the main weapon in the offense when he's on the floor, but he's still injured a lot and is not shooting the ball well this season. Since his return, Bargnani averaged 10.8 points, 4.8 boards and 1.0 blocks on 39.5 percent from the field. Add him at your own risk, but letting him be someone else's problem isn't a bad idea.
Feb 27 - 6:14 PM

Andre Iguodala (rest) will not play on Friday night.

It is scheduled rest with Iguodala sitting out in previous back-to-back sets. The last time he sat, Klay Thompson scored 52 points, but it should be Brandon Rush picking up most of the minutes for Iggy tonight. Harrison Barnes only gets a slight bump tonight.
Feb 27 - 6:03 PM

Kelly Olynyk (ankle) is questionable to play against the Warriors and is hopeful to practice on Saturday.

He's been out since January and is finally getting closer to a return. The Celtics have been very creative with their frontcourt and coach Brad Stevens has been playing a lot of Jonas Jerebko. "[Jerebko is] not a five in a perfect world but maybe a five in our world," Stevens said. Jae Crowder has also been a stretch four a ton and has benefitted the most in the past couple. Olynyk is worth stashing in most leagues now.
Feb 27 - 5:55 PM

LeBron James (back) will not play against the Pacers on Friday night.

"Just forward thinking on my part," coach David Blatt said. In other words, it sounds like a maintenance day. LeBron did have some back problems against the Warriors on Thursday and he was also on the injury report back in January because of it. He has been absolutely magnificent since the break, posting a 38.3 usage rate with a 59.6 true shooting percentage. With LeBron and Kyrie Irving out, Kevin Love should have a lot on his plate. J.R. Smith is also going to have a greener light than usual. Shawn Marion will likely start, but he's not a great fantasy option.
Feb 27 - 5:40 PM

Paul Pierce (knee) will not play against the 76ers on Friday.

He suffered some sort of injury in pre-game on Wednesday, but it's not considered serious. The Wizards were a disaster on Wednesday, but coach Randy Wittman will likely start Otto Porter and Garrett Temple on the wings. Pierce is a tough own when he's not healthy.
Feb 27 - 5:35 PM

DeMarcus Cousins (ankle) will not play against the Spurs on Friday.

That's a lot of offense to replace with Boogie posting a ridiculous 37.3 usage rate since George Karl took over. Plus, he's on pace to have the highest usage rate for a center in a season ever (among qualifiers for minutes per game). With Boogie out, the Kings are likely going to give his minutes to a combination of Carl Landry, Reggie Evans and Jason Thompson. However, Rudy Gay will likely be very busy tonight and Ben McLemore will also try to build off his 16-point game from Wednesday. Gay will also play a lot of PF, so there are more minutes for Omri Casspi.
Feb 27 - 4:15 PM

Kyrie Irving (shoulder) will not play on Friday against the Pacers.

He suffered the left shoulder strain on Friday, but he was back on the bench following the injury. Irving had an MRI and it would appear he's day-to-day because the team did not rule him out for Sunday against the Rockets. Matthew Dellavedova logged all of the backup point guard minutes on Thursday night and is likely going to start.

O.J. Mayo (hamstring) will not play against the Lakers on Friday.

The Bucks called Mayo sitting on Wednesday as "rest" but it certainly raised a red flag because they weren't on the front or back end of a back-to-back set. Mayo tweaked his hamstring on Feb. 20, but he did play 31.0 minutes per game in his two following outings. With Mayo out, Jerryd Bayless will log more minutes at shooting guard which may allow Tyler Ennis to get minutes close to 20. Khris Middleton should also have a higher usage rate, which helped him get to 19 points on Wednesday. Mayo is a tough player to own now that he's not healthy.
Feb 27 - 3:04 PM

Tyson Chandler (hip contusion) was a full participant during Friday's practice, Rick Carlisle said he'll be "a probable/questionable" for Saturday's game vs. the Nets.

Chandler said that he is hopeful to play on Saturday, and his return to practice is a step in the right direction. If Chandler is able to go, Bernard James will return to a bench role devoid of any fantasy value in standard leagues. Stay tuned.
