Kobe Bryant scored 27 points on 10-of-18 shooting (including two threes) with nine rebounds, seven assists, and two steals in the Lakers' 101-77 destruction of the Warriors on Friday.

Bryant took the foul line to chants of "we want Phil," who met with the Lakers at Staples Center last week according to our sources. Kobe is still claiming to be at less than 100 percent, but he's playing like he's at the proverbial 110.

Austin Rivers will start for injured Chris Paul (hamstring) in Monday's Game 1 opener against the Rockets.

Rivers won't face an impact defender and he'll have quite a bit of playing time to put points on the board, but look for the offense to be run through Blake Griffin, Jamal Crawford, J.J. Redick and Matt Barnes.

Chris Paul (hamstring) will not play in Game 1 on Monday.

Ouch. Coach Doc Rivers expects Paul to play at some point in this series, but it won't be tonight. He's also at risk of missing Game 2 on Wednesday. The Clippers will have to count on Austin Rivers a ton tonight. Blake Griffin also has a great chance for a triple-double.
May 4 - 8:05 PM

Mike Conley (face) said he believes he'll play on Tuesday.

He did warm up on Sunday and did go through practice on Monday. However, the sense around the team is that he won't be able to play in Game 2. The Grizzlies will host Game 3 on Saturday, so all that time off should help Conley get out there. For now, Beno Udrih and Nick Calathes will get some run on Tuesday, but consider Conley a 50/50 guy to play. There will be another update at shootaround tomorrow.
May 4 - 6:08 PM

Iman Shumpert and Mike Miller will start against the Bulls on Monday, according to Chris Haynes of the Plain Dealer.

It's not a surprise whatsoever to see Miller get the start over Tristan Thompson. LeBron James played a lot of power forward in Game 4 against the Celtics, so expect that to continue going forward. Shumpert will get minutes, but his usage rate will be very tiny in the next two games. Miller is not a great fantasy option either. With Love out, the biggest beneficiary might be Kyrie Irving.

Chris Paul (hamstring) went through shootaround, but he remains a game-time decision on Monday for Game 1 vs. the Rockets.

When asked for a CP3 update, Doc Rivers said, "Uh, he's alive." Paul is expected to test his hamstring to see if he can give it a go, and Doc Rivers will rely on the training staff to make the call. If CP3 sits, Austin Rivers could draw the Game 1 start. That's a weird sentence.
May 4 - 1:06 PM

Stephen Curry has officially been named the 2014-15 NBA MVP.

Chef Curry is indeed cooking with the pot. After unofficial word slipped out on Sunday, the league wasted no time in making the announcement official on Monday. James Harden finished second, LeBron James finished third and Russell Westbrook finished fourth with Anthony Davis (fifth) and Chris Paul (sixth) rounding out the order.
May 4 - 11:05 AM

Mike Conley (face, eye) is unlikely to play in Game 2 vs. the Warriors, according to USA Today's Sam Amick.

The Grizzlies and Warriors don't square off until Tuesday night for Game 2, but with Conley still being bothered by noise and bright lights in addition to continued facial swelling, it would be miraculous if we saw him before Game 3 at the very earliest. It's also unclear if Conley will have to go through the NBA's concussion protocol, which could potentially push his return date back further. Nick Calathes and Beno Udrih will continue to try and fill in for Conley.
May 4 - 10:32 AM

Blazers GM Neil Olshey wouldn't commit to re-signing Wesley Matthews this offseason.

"We know his value to us; we also know he's going to have market value around the league," he said. Matthews is coming off a torn Achilles, and after the Blazers absolutely fell apart without him, his free-agent case looks pretty good despite the injury. He should have no problem getting a variety of multi-year offers, and his future could very well be outside of Portland. If he leaves, the Blazers are going to have a very tough time replacing what he brings to the table. Both the player and the team have now been noncommittal about remaining together.
May 4 - 9:37 AM

Danny Green said that he hopes to re-sign with the Spurs this offseason.

Green will be an unrestricted free agent, but San Antonio also has to address Kawhi Leonard's free agency as well as a potential new deal for Tim Duncan and/or Manu Ginobili. Green should get some really solid offers in free agency after averaging 11.7 points, 4.2 rebounds, 1.2 steals, 1.1 blocks and 2.4 triples (41.8 percent) on 43.6 percent shooting overall.
May 4 - 9:31 AM

With J.R. Smith serving a two-game suspension, Iman Shumpert is expected to start at shooting guard for Monday's Game 1 vs. the Bulls.

"I think I’ll get more opportunities just playing more minutes," Shumpert said. "But as far as going in with a different mindset, it’s not like I’m going to transform into J.R. for the team." The Cavs are very short-handed with Smith out two games and Kevin Love (shoulder) done for the playoffs, so in addition to Shump they'll need more production from Tristan Thompson, James Jones, Matthew Dellavedova and possibly Shawn Marion or Mike Miller.
May 3 - 8:15 PM

John Wall injured his left wrist and hand during a hard fall on Sunday, but he told reporters, "I'll be ready on Tuesday."

Early indications are that X-rays were negative but the team has yet to officially update his status. "My wrist will be alright. If it ain't broke I'll play through anything," Wall said. "It's more in my hand now. The pressure went to my hand." He'll have one day to rest before going for a 2-0 series lead vs. the top-seeded Hawks.
