The Hornets have traded Hakim Warrick to the Bobcats in exchange for Matt Carroll.

The Bobcats finally rid themselves of Carroll's contract, which pays him $3.5 million this season, while taking on Warrick's expiring $4 million salary. Tyrus Thomas is struggling, as usual, and Warrick may pick up some reserve minutes at PF in Charlotte, but he's not a fantasy consideration.

The Suns are trading P.J. Tucker to the Raptors in exchange for Jared Sullinger and two second-round picks, according to Adrian Wojnarowski of The Vertical.

The Raptors get their guy at the deadline buzzer. There was some talk that the Raptors wanted Tucker to help guard LeBron James in the playoffs.

Atlanta has traded Mike Scott to the Suns for cash, according to Adrian Wojnarowski of The Vertical.

The Hawks don't need Scott anymore with Ersan Ilysasova around. The Suns are under the salary cap, so it's basically just a salary dump here. He is not expected to take minutes away from a heating-up Marquese Chriss.

Tyler Ennis has been traded to the Lakers for Marcelo Huertas, according to The Vertical.

The Rockets continue to shed some money to now get them under the cap. Ennis could get minutes of guys like Jose Calderon are bought out, but frankly he hasn't been very good.

The Pacers have passed on trade offers for Paul George, and he will remain in Indiana after the trade deadline.

Feb 23 - 2:49 PM

Doug McDermott has been traded to the Thunder.

It sounds like Andre Roberson will remain in OKC, so that hurts McDermott's outlook a bit -- the Thunder are sending Cameron Payne, Anthony Morrow and Joffrey Lauvergne for McDermott and Taj Gibson. The Thunder clearly value McDermott and he should get a slight boost in OKC, so he's worth a look if you need a 3-point specialist. He averaged 10.2 points, 3.0 rebounds, 1.0 assist and 1.3 steals in 24.5 minutes per game for the Bulls.

K.J. McDaniels has been traded to the Brooklyn Nets.

This was a straight salary dump for Houston, while the Nets are acquiring an intriguing young swingman who can hit 3-pointers and block shots. This is a great landing spot for McDaniels and he should be able to crack the rotation with Bojan Bogdanovic out of the picture, but he will likely come off the bench behind Caris LeVert and Rondae Hollis-Jefferson on the wings. Just keep an eye on him.

Coach Doc Rivers said Chris Paul (thumb) is "out most likely" for Thursday against the Warriors.

He is technically listed as out in the game notes, but there is a chance he will play. The Clippers start their second half on a back-to-back set, so he may have a chance to play against the Spurs. For tonight, Austin Rivers and Raymond Felton will handle the ball more while a lot of action will go through Blake Griffin.
Feb 23 - 2:21 PM

According to Frank Isola of the NY Daily News, the Thunder are nearing a deal to acquire Doug McDermott.

The proposed deal would likely include Andre Roberson and Cameron Payne from the Thunder, so McDermott could potentially be the starting small forward in OKC. If you have a roster spot and need 3-pointers, McDermott is now firmly on the radar as a pickup. He's averaging 1.3 triples in 24.5 minutes per game for the Bulls.

Enes Kanter says his arm feels "pretty good" and when asked if he might play on Friday night, he said "it's a secret."

If Kanter really is in play for tomorrow night against the Lakers it means he recovered very quickly from his broken arm and returned a bit ahead of schedule. While feeling "pretty good" is a step in the right direction, we still don't know if Kanter has a realistic shot at playing on Friday. But it sure seems like a possibility. Watch for more updates on his status coming Friday afternoon.

Avery Bradley (Achilles) went through part of practice on Thursday as planned.

He's only played in one game since Jan. 6, but he said he felt good after the limited practice. Coach Brad Stevens didn't even know if Bradley would travel for Friday's game vs. the Raptors, so that's a concern considering Bradley was initially targeting that game for his return. We could have another update soon, but Marcus Smart will continue to benefit if he's out.

Joel Embiid (left knee) is expected to miss the Sixers' next four games, following the recommendation of the team's doctors.

Embiid went through a full practice on Thursday but the Sixers are being extremely cautious, as expected. If he returned after four games he could play on March 3rd, but there are no guarantees -- it's worth noting that that game is the first of a back-to-back set. Embiid did say he had some swelling on Thursday morning, which obviously isn't good, but for now it sounds like Philly is just playing it safe. His owners just have to hold him in the hopes of a return in early March.
