Rodney Stuckey is not with Pistons in Philadelphia after developing flu-like symptoms.

The Pistons are back in Detroit on Friday to take on the Magic so stayed tuned to see if the bug passes through Stuckey's system by then. Kyle Singler will start in Stuckey's place. Corey Maggette (calf) will also return Wednesday and possibly eat up some of Stuckey's minutes.

Nicolas Batum (knee) was spotted doing shooting drills after Thursday's practice, and was not wearing a brace on his injured right knee.

Nov 20 - 3:52 PM

Dwight Howard (knee) did not practice on Thursday, and is being listed as day-to-day.

While Howard is out Tarik Black and Donatas Motiejunas will get all the minutes they can handle, with Kostas Papanikolaou seeing some extended run off the bench. None of those guys make for a great pickup in standard leagues, but they could be nice low-budget options in FanDuel if Howard and Terrence Jones are unable to go on Saturday. Stay tuned.

Ricky Rubio (ankle) said that his family is coming for Christmas, and he hopes they will be able to watch him play.

Rubio doesn't play on Christmas, but he has a game the following day on Dec. 26. Ultimately the decision will be based on rehab, and the Timberwolves' medical staff giving him clearance to play, but Dec. 26 falls right at the seven week mark of his initial 7-8 week timetable. Rubio's rehab has been going well, but he's still not able to put weight on his sprained ankle. We'll be monitoring his status closely, but while he's sidelined, Mo Williams may be worth a look as he's finally taken the starting spot away from Zach LaVine.

K.J. McDaniels said he was frustrated that his minutes were limited while he was playing well on Wednesday.

McDaniels didn't miss a shot during Wednesday's loss, scoring eight points (two 3-pointers) to go with two rebounds and a block, but coach Brett Brown limited him to just 11 minutes of action. Coach Brett Brown explained that the 76ers have a "logjam at the big wing position," which is an interesting statement considering McDaniels' competition goes by the name of Hollis Thompson, Luc Mbah a Moute, and Robert Covington. McDaniels is clearly the most talented player out of the group, but the 76ers organization is not interested in putting talented players on the floor if it gives the team a chance to win. Still, the Sixers are likely eventually going to give McDaniels minutes in order to give him a chance to develop, and he can be viewed as a stash candidate for owners in standard leagues.

Carmelo Anthony revealed after Tuesday's loss to the Bucks that his left knee has been sore since the second game of the season and he's undergone tests on it.

"I think he's a smart enough and a veteran enough player that if he had some concern about where he is I think he would come either to me or to our training staff about trying to be smart," said head coach Derek Fisher. "He hasn't done that as of yet. I'm sure we'll continue to keep an eye on it. But he's good to go for now." The Knicks have not revealed exactly what tests Anthony has undergone, but this is something to keep an eye on. Anthony has said that he'll try to play through the pain, but if the Knicks continue their losing ways, it's plausible that Carmelo could eventually decide to rest. We'll be monitoring this situation closely, but there's no reason to panic right now.

Josh McRoberts (toe blister) went through Thursday's shootaround and appears on pace to play vs. the Kings.

McRoberts practiced fully on Wednesday and there have been no reports of a setback, so he should resume his bench role behind Shawne Williams at PF. He's likely to overtake Williams for the starting job at some point, but fantasy owners should hedge their bets as the position battle plays out.
Nov 20 - 1:06 PM

Pau Gasol (strained calf) will not play vs. the Kings on Thursday.

He's questionable to return for Friday's game vs. the Blazers, but said on Wednesday that he must be patient to avoid aggravating the injury. Hopefully his status will once again be determined after Chicago's shootaround, rather than moments before tip-off. Taj Gibson is a terrific option with Gasol out on Thursday, especially with Joakim Noah still playing on a minute-limit.
Nov 20 - 12:43 PM

Derrick Rose (hamstring) and Pau Gasol (calf) have both been ruled out for Thursday's game vs. the Kings.

This is Rose's third consecutive DNP and he's missed seven of Chicago's 12 games to begin the season, despite averaging a conservative 23.5 minutes per game. His hamstring strain was initially described as 'mild' and he was 50-50 to play in this game, though the fact that he was ruled out so early isn't a good sign. Fantasy owners will have to continue playing the guessing game regarding his status for Friday's road game in Portland. Kirk Hinrich will earn another start in his absence, with Aaron Brooks picking up extra minutes off the bench.
Nov 20 - 12:35 PM

Dirk Nowitzki (ankle) expects to play against the Lakers on Friday.

Nowitzki briefly left Wednesday's win over the Wizards, but was able to return after getting his left ankle taped. "It’s just the first couple of minutes that hurt," Nowitzki said, adding that he expects to be fine for Friday’s game against the Lakers. "I walked it off, got it re-taped. Trainer asked me if I wanted to call it a day, but obviously a close game, so if I can walk, I want to be out there." Expecting to play and actually playing are two different things, so we'll be keeping a close eye on Dirk's status for Friday's tilt agains the Lakers.
Nov 20 - 11:40 AM

Andrea Bargnani (hamstring) is expected to be available when the Knicks play the 76ers on Saturday.

Bargnani has finally been able to practice without any setbacks and it looks like his season debut will come against the Sixers on Saturday. He'll likely be worked into the Knicks' rotation in a limited role, however, so his fantasy value is limited to deeper leagues for the time being.
Nov 20 - 11:10 AM

Jose Calderon (calf) is expected to play against the 76ers on Saturday.

This is great news for the 3-10 Knicks as they could use Calderon's veteran leadership and it is also great news for fantasy owners who are in need of point guard help. Calderon should immediately take over point guard duties from Pablo Prigioni and Shane Larkin, while Iman Shumpert's fantasy value will take a minor hit as Calderson's return should diminish his usage.
