Elton Brand started at power forward on Wednesday and had his first double-double of the season with 11 points, 12 rebounds and two blocks in 30 minutes in the win.

Rick Carlisle said before the game he's ready to play Chris Kaman and Brand together going forward, and Brand looked much better tonight. Brand's minutes have been a concern up to this point, but it finally looks like Carlisle is ready to turn him loose, making him worth a close look if he's floating on your league's waiver wire.

Jahlil Okafor grabbed a career-high 17 rebounds during a 103-98 win over the Nets on Saturday, adding 22 points, one steal and three blocks in 33 minutes.

Perhaps the most interesting part of tonight is that he played 17 minutes next to Nerlens Noel, which is very unusual these days. Coach Brett Brown has shown some concern about Okafor at the four, but not tonight. "I thought he had a hell of a game," Brown said. Okafor should be a double-double threat most nights and could trend up.

Chandler Parsons was phenomenal in Saturday's 114-110 overtime win over the Grizzlies, scoring 26 points on 10-of-15 shooting.

He had a six-point dud vs. the Spurs on Friday, so it was great to see him get back on track. The forward added eight boards, four assists, one steal and five 3-pointers in 41 minutes, helping the Mavericks snap a three-game losing skid in the process. Keep Parsons locked in all lineups.

Austin Rivers has been diagnosed with a broken left hand and is expected to miss the next 4-6 weeks.

He suffered the injury during Wednesday's game, and it now appears that he won't be able to return to the floor until March at the earliest. With Rivers looking at an extended absence, Pablo Prigioni could become the backup point guard, while some extra minutes could trickle down to Lance Stephenson and Jamal Crawford.
Feb 6 - 11:02 PM

Julius Randle tweaked his left ankle at the end of Saturday's game vs. the Spurs and will have x-rays.

He was in a lot of pain, but he never went to the locker room and was talking to the team trainer. The Lakers already lost Roy Hibbert to an ankle sprain on Saturday, so hopefully it's not serious. Randle finished with 15 points, 17 boards, four assists and two steals in 31 minutes. If he misses time, Brandon Bass and Ryan Kelly would have to step up.
Feb 6 - 10:59 PM

Norris Cole scored 26 points with two rebounds, five assists, one steal, five turnovers and two 3-pointers in 34 minutes against the Cavs on Saturday.

He started the second half on fire with 12 points in the first three minutes of the third quarter. Cole is up and down, but he's played well in most of the games since Tyreke Evans (knee) went down. With Tyreke out for at least this week, holding Cole in standard leagues makes sense.
Feb 6 - 10:42 PM

Paul George made 7-of-13 from the field and 14-of-15 from the line for 30 points during a 112-104 win over the Pistons on Saturday, adding eight rebounds, three assists, one steal and two 3-pointers.

After a brutal slump, George has two consecutive games with a field goal percentage greater than 52. George seems to have got his wish from back in the preseason to play less power forward with barely any run there while Myles Turner plays next to him. Expect PG-13 to hang in the top 10-20 range going forward.
Feb 6 - 10:25 PM

Reggie Jackson scored 26 points on 10-of-15 from the field during a 112-104 loss to the Pacers on Saturday, adding three rebounds, two assists and three 3-pointers.

That's a very efficient line with low turnovers, which have seen a very nice improvement recently. In his last five, Jackson averaged 19.2 points, 1.8 boards, 4.2 assists, 0.6 steals, 2.4 treys and 1.4 turnovers on 47.9 percent from the field. Once the assists start to come around, Jackson should start to be that top-50 player his owners drafted.
Feb 6 - 10:09 PM

Nicolas Batum was everywhere during a 108-104 win over the Wizards on Saturday, scoring 26 points with 11 rebounds, nine assists, one steal, one block, three 3-pointers and six turnovers in 44 minutes.

Yeah, that toe issue looks like it's behind him. Batum was the focal point of the offense and coach Steve Clifford allows him to read the defense to create the flow. He's coming off a 21-point gem on Friday, so his owners can obviously take their finger away from the panic button after a couple weeks of worry. Expect him to be an early-round player going forward.
Feb 6 - 9:49 PM

Nerlens Noel (ankle) limped to the locker room during the third quarter of Saturday's game vs. the Nets, but he is available to return after getting re-taped.

He fell awkwardly on his right ankle and was in obvious pain, but he only stayed in the locker room for a few moments and is back on the bench. It sounds like he is good to go, but we will have an update after the game to let you know how he holds up.
Feb 6 - 9:10 PM

Roy Hibbert left Saturday's game vs. the Spurs with a left ankle sprain and he will not return.

He was supposed to just get his ankle re-taped, so the injury must be a little more serious than originally thought. Hibbert hasn't been playing well lately, so he shouldn't have been owned in most leagues. Brandon Bass and Tarik Black will see an uptick in minutes if Hibbert misses more time. X-rays were negative, so Hibbert is considered day-to-day.
Feb 6 - 9:06 PM

Damian Lillard scored 21 points with four rebounds, 10 assists, one steal and three 3-pointers during a 96-79 win in Houston on Saturday.

Rockets fans will probably never doubt Lillard, but this wasn't even his best game as a scorer. His assists have been the story lately and Lillard has put up three consecutive double-doubles for the first time in his NBA career. Yes, he should have made the All-Star Team.
