Brandon Roy is expected to miss about a month after undergoing surgery on his right knee Monday.

An earlier report on Monday suggested that Roy would miss at least two weeks, but now it looks like won't be back until the second half of December. Roy has averaged 5.8 points and 4.6 assists in five games this year for Minnesota.

Donovan Mitchell is expected to see "plenty of point guard minutes" against the Nuggets on Wednesday, according to Tony Jones of the Salt Lake Tribune.

With Raul Neto (hamstring) out tonight and Dante Exum (shoulder) out indefinitely, the Jazz will need someone to fill 13-16 minutes at point guard behind Ricky Rubio. Mitchell has taken a lot of pride in becoming a point guard, and it sounds like the Jazz coaching staff has faith in him along with his teammates like Joe Ingles. " I haven't seen too many rookies as physically and mentally prepared to play as Donovan," Ingles said. Mitchell should be owned in most 12-team leagues.

Alex Len (left ankle) said he's "probably out" for Wednesday's game against the Blazers and hopes to play on Friday.

That's not the start Len wanted after a great preseason. He had left ankle surgery earlier in his career and his right ankle is probably the worse one of the two. Len played 26.8 minutes per game in the preseason, and it's fair to say that's probably more than he should've logged. With him out, Marquese Chriss will certainly be playing more minutes at the five, which opens up more run for T.J. Warren and Josh Jackson. Hopefully, Len just needs a day off or two, but he may be a cut candidate in most leagues.

E'Twaun Moore and Dante Cunningham are expected to start in Wednesday's season opener vs. Memphis.

With Solomon Hill (hamstring) and Rajon Rondo (hernia) set to begin the year on the sidelines, the Pelicans are expected to roll out a starting five featuring Jrue Holiday, Moore, Cunningham, Anthony Davis and DeMarcus Cousins. Moore could be good for a handful of 3-pointers, but he's not all that attractive of a target in 12-team formats. Cunningham isn't a viable target in any setting.

Anthony Davis (illness) is a go for Wednesday's season opener against the Grizzlies.

Davis was a full participant during shootaround, and there was never any doubt about him suiting up for opening night. Alvin Gentry said that he wants DeMarcus Cousins and Davis on the floor as much as possible, so they should be logging heavy minutes tonight. Make sure you've got The Brow active.

Raul Neto (left leg) has been ruled out for Wednesday's season opener against the Nuggets.

This isn't all that surprising considering Neto has yet to get through a full practice, and with Dante Exum (shoulder surgery) also unavailable, we'll likely see rookie Donovan Mitchell get some reps as the backup point guard while Ricky Rubio rests. The Jazz play again Friday vs. Minnesota, and for now, we'll be considering Neto questionable for that one.
Oct 18 - 1:47 PM

Chris Paul (bruised left knee) is being listed as questionable for Wednesday's game against the Kings.

This is not surprising at all considering head coach Mike D'Antoni said that CP3 was "playing on one leg" during Tuesday's season opener, so we doubt he'll take the floor tonight with a matchup against a team that the Rockets should be able to beat without his services. Assuming Paul watches Wednesday's game from the sidelines, James Harden will likely shift back over to the one, with Eric Gordon starting at the two-spot.
Oct 18 - 1:44 PM

Lauri Markkanen will be in the starting lineup for Thursday's season opener against Toronto.

This was the obvious move with both Bobby Portis (suspension) and Nikola Mirotic (face) out until mid-November, and Markkanen should be getting all the run he can handle with very little depth behind him. He played very well at the EuroBasket tournament and was effective through three preseason games with averages of 11.7 points, 5.0 boards and 2.3 triples in just 24.8 minutes per contest, so he's worth swooping up in most settings.
Oct 18 - 1:34 PM

Quincy Pondexter (hamstring) is expected to play in Thursday's season opener against the Raptors.

Pondexter injured his hamstring early on at training camp, which forced him to miss the preseason. He hasn't played professional basketball since 2015 due to various knee surgeries, so he'll likely be brought along slowly in Chicago, making him an unappealing option in fantasy hoops.
Oct 18 - 1:29 PM

Nikola Mirotic's (face) timetable has been set at 4-6 weeks.

Mirotic needs to clear the concussion protocol before they can address his facial injuries, but he'll likely wind up having surgery at some point. With both Mirotic and Bobby Portis (suspension) out until November, Lauri Markkanen's development will be accelerated, and he should be getting all the run he can handle at the four-spot making him an intriguing grab in most settings. Mirotic doesn't have a ton of upside, so he's a cut-candidate in leagues without an IR-spot.
Oct 18 - 1:17 PM

The Bulls have suspended Bobby Portis for eight games.

This means that Portis won't be making his regular-season debut until November 7, and with Nikola Mirotic (face) expected to miss 4-6 weeks, there's a good chance Lauri Markkanen will be getting all the run he can handle as Chicago's de facto starting power forward. Paul Zipser and Cristiano Felicio also figure to help man the four-spot while Portis and Mirotic are on the sidelines, which could translate to more minutes for Denzel Valentine at the three. Markkanen is worth a speculative add in most leagues, while Valentine has some deep league appeal.
Oct 18 - 1:01 PM

Julyan Stone (groin) and Treveon Graham (hamstring) are expected to play in Wednesday's season opener against the Pistons.

Both Stone and Graham were full participants during Tuesday's practice, and they were not limited during shootaround, so things are trending in a positive direction here. With Michael Kidd-Gilchrist (personal), Nicolas Batum (elbow) and Michael Carter-Williams (knees) all unavailable, both Stone and Graham could get into the rotation, but neither guy has much fantasy appeal.
