Updating a previous report, Jason Kidd (back spasms) will not play in Monday's cross-town showdown with the Nets.

Ronnie Brewer will start at SG, with Kurt Thomas at PF -- J.R. Smith figures to play more and needs to be in all active lineups, in case he wasn't already. Kidd should be considered day-to-day, and the Knicks' next game is Wednesday in Milwaukee.

Richard Jefferson (calf) is planning on playing in Game 4 vs. the Rockets on Sunday, though head coach Rick Carlisle said he will be a game-time decision.

Jefferson has been poor in the playoffs so far, averaging just 3.3 points in 13.0 minutes per game. It sounds like he is good to go on Sunday, but Al-Farouq Aminu should continue to see the bulk of the minutes at small forward after producing 15 points, five boards, two blocks and two steals in 34 minutes during Game 3. We will update Jefferson's status as soon as we know more.
Apr 26 - 12:12 PM

Jared Sullinger (bruised tailbone) will be available to play in Game 4 vs. the Cavaliers on Sunday.

Sullinger was unable to practice on Saturday and was supposedly a game-time decision, but it's a good sign that the Celtics cleared him to play with over an hour before tip-off. Sullinger is averaging 9.3 points and 5.7 boards while shooting 57 percent from the field in the series, so he is going to have to continue to provide solid minutes off the bench if the Celtics want to avoid getting swept by the Cavaliers.
Apr 26 - 11:51 AM

Marcus Smart was reportedly late to practice on Saturday because he overslept, but head coach Brad Stevens said that Jae Crowder was always going to start in Game 4.

There have been some indications that Smart will see reduced minutes for disciplinary reasons, so it's probably best for owners in fantasy leagues to look at other options. Jae Crowder is starting because his physical presence is needed to guard LeBron James, but there is no word on whether or not the switch is temporary.
Apr 26 - 11:35 AM

Jae Crowder will be replacing Marcus Smart in the starting lineup for Game 4 against the Cavaliers on Sunday.

Crowder pretty much made it clear in practice on Saturday that he would be in the starting lineup, so this news was expected. There could be additional changes to the lineup as well, so be sure to stay tuned for updates. Smart hasn't played that well in this series so far, and it makes sense to get a physical presence in the lineup such as Crowder to help contain LeBron James. Expect Evan Turner and Avery Bradley to have some extra ball-handling responsibilities as well.

ESPN's Chris Broussard reported on Saturday that when he asked LaMarcus Aldridge if Portland will be his No.1 choice in free agency, Aldridge said "we'll see".

To make this story even more interesting, Blazers general manager Neil Olshey gave his team the option of flying home separately after their Game 2 defeat in Memphis, and Aldridge was the only player to take a separate flight from the team. This certainly doesn't bode well for Aldridge's future in Portland, and it's already being reported that teams such as the Spurs, Mavericks, Lakers and Knicks will pursue him hard this summer. The Blazers have lost the first three games of the series to the Grizzlies, so an early-round exit likely won't help Portland's chances of retaining their star power forward. We will continue to pass along updates as necessary.
Apr 26 - 10:50 AM

Deron Williams left Saturday's game against the Hawks after landing hard on his tailbone, but he is expected to be fine moving forward.

"It’s frustrating," Williams said. "It’s frustrating for me to be banged up, but we won tonight. And like I said, that’s the only thing that matters. Brook [Lopez] had a heck of a game tonight, you know, on both ends of the floor, rebounding. He did everything tonight. Joe [Johnson], big plays." Jarrett Jack took over when Williams left the game and led the Nets to an 18-0 run, so it looks like Williams' injury may have actually been a blessing in disguise for Brooklyn. Williams finished with just three points on 1-of-8 shooting to go with six assists, seven boards and two steals, but he will have to step it up if he doesn't want to lose playing time to Jack.
Apr 26 - 9:51 AM

C.J. McCollum exploded off the bench for 26 points in Saturday's Game 3 loss to the Grizzlies, adding four boards, two steals and two 3-pointers in 27 minutes.

Finally. McCollum was awful in his previous two outings against the Grizzlies, scoring a combined eight points on just 4-of-21 shooting. McCollum is starting to make a name for himself with the Blazers, and even though he got a few extra minutes tonight due to Arron Afflalo getting into some foul trouble, he looks destined for a larger role heading into next season.
Apr 26 - 1:58 AM

Nicolas Batum was on fire from beyond the arc in Portland's Game 3 loss to the Grizzlies on Saturday, sinking six 3-pointers on 12 attempts.

He finished the game with 27 points, six boards and four assists, but it wasn't enough to keep the Grizzlies from capturing a 3-0 series lead. Batum has been hesitant on his jumpers all season (mostly 3-pointers), so it was nice to see him in attack mode tonight. The Blazers will need Batum to continue to be aggressive if they have any hope of competing with the Grizzlies.
Apr 26 - 1:53 AM

Marc Gasol scored 25 points with seven boards, four assists and three blocks in a decisive win over the Blazers on Saturday to give the Grizzlies a 3-0 series lead.

Gasol shot just 6-of-17 from the field, but he was a bully in the paint and held Robin Lopez to just four points and four boards on the night. The Grizzlies will look to sweep the series on Monday in Portland, but it might be a lot tougher than they think if Mike Conley (eye) is unable to suit up for that one.
Apr 26 - 1:39 AM

Mike Conley will not be able to return to Game 3 against the Blazers on Saturday after taking an inadvertent elbow to the eye, and he is expected to go to a local medical facility for additional tests.

His left eye is reportedly very swollen, and it was obvious that he was in a lot of discomfort when he left the floor. It's possible that Conley could be forced to miss some time, but we should know more after we hear the results of the tests. If Conley does end up missing some action, Beno Udrih (ankle) should be ready to go for Game 4 and would likely start, while Nick Calathes will have to step up as well.
Apr 26 - 12:28 AM

Stephen Curry led the Warriors to a 4-0 series sweep during a 109-98 win over the Pelicans on Saturday, scoring 39 points with eight rebounds, nine assists, one steal and six 3-pointers.

He sure is putting those extra minutes to good use. In the four games in the playoffs, Curry averaged 33.8 points, 5.3 boards, 7.3 assists, 1.3 steals and 5.0 treys in 39.8 minutes per game. His 20 treys in this series set an NBA record for a sweep. The Warriors look unbeatable right now and they'll get the winner of the Grizzlies-Blazers series.
