Ersan Ilyasova admitted to Scott Skiles that he was relieved to come off the bench before Monday's comeback win over the Bulls, and responded with 18 points, six rebounds, two assists, one steal, and one block in 22 minutes.

Ilyasova played sparingly for the first half of the game, but then Skiles rode his bench and Ilyasova for the entire fourth quarter. During that time he was a mixed bag offensively and passed up some open looks, but he hit a number of big shots and had a few huge plays late to secure the win. We're not going to say that he's back, but we've seen him thrive in his bench role in the past and tonight was definitely a building block experience. We're all for adding him if he has been dropped, though patience will continue to be a necessity.

Derrick Rose (ankle) is uncertain for Saturday's game against Minnesota, but the injury seems to be minor.

The fact that the Bulls haven't ruled him out given his injury history bodes well for his status. Still, it would not be surprising if Rose is held out on Saturday and owners should check back for updates before playing him. If he can't go, expect to see a lot more Kirk Hinrich and Aaron Brooks.
Nov 1 - 9:52 AM

Jeremy Lin finally got on the board with fantasy owners on Friday against the Clippers, scoring 17 points on 7-of-13 shooting (including three treys) with four rebounds, nine assists and one steal in 35 minutes.

Lin even waved Kobe off at one point and drew praise from the Mamba after the game for it. There are going to be ups and downs playing for a bad team, but Lin's mid-round upside is right there for the taking and he should be worth owning and/or starting as long as he's healthy.
Nov 1 - 2:03 AM

Blake Griffin poured in 39 points in Friday's win over the Lakers, hitting 13-of-23 shots (2-of-2 3PTs, 11-of-12 FTs) with seven rebounds and four assists.

Griffin did not have a steal or block but who cares when he's humming like this. If he's going to hit his free throws it's going to be a long season for his fantasy opponents.
Nov 1 - 1:58 AM

Rudy Gay bounced back from a bad outing on Wednesday to hit 13-of-19 shots for 40 points in the Kings' 103-94 win over the Blazers on Friday.

Gay added eight rebounds, three treys, 11-of-13 free throws and one steal in what might be his best game of the season. He stayed within himself tonight and that's going to be the key to his success going forward.
Nov 1 - 1:51 AM

Alex Len double-doubled off the bench on Friday against the Spurs, scoring 10 points on 4-of-6 shooting with 11 rebounds and one block in 32 minutes.

Miles Plumlee got into serious foul trouble and Len might have opened up a position battle tonight. Owners should wait to see more out of Len before making an add outside of deeper leagues, but be ready to act if he makes a move on the starting job.
Nov 1 - 1:30 AM

Isaiah Thomas continued to smolder in Friday's win over the Spurs, scoring 23 points on 10-of-17 shooting with two rebounds and four assists in 29 minutes off the bench.

You just can't keep this guy down and he appears to have a real good chemistry with the other guards on the team. Thomas' big third quarter keyed a Phoenix comeback, and he pretty much kept it going all the way through the fourth. He should be in all lineups until he cools off, if he cools off.
Nov 1 - 1:26 AM

Larry Sanders started again and scored eight points on 4-of-12 shooting with 15 rebounds, two steals and four blocks in Friday's win over the Sixers.

Sanders logged 27 minutes and only had four fouls, but the big thing to keep in mind is that the opponent was Philly. The Show has had a nice start to the year and he should be in all lineups until that changes.
Nov 1 - 1:01 AM

O.J. Mayo continued to put distance between his fat days and his skinny days with another solid effort on Friday, scoring 25 points on 8-of-13 shooting (including five threes) with three rebounds, five assists and a steal in 28 minutes.

Starting or not he's arguably the Bucks' best player right now and he looks like he's going to be one of the steals of this year's drafts. If he's available in your league, he shouldn't be.
Nov 1 - 12:50 AM

Nerlens Noel double-doubled with 14 points, 10 rebounds, one steal and three blocks in Friday's loss to the Bucks.

So far so good for Noel, who has averaged a double-double and three blocks for both of his NBA games. He hit 7-of-11 shots tonight after starting the year on a 2-of-11 outing, and he didn't attempt any free throws which is also a good thing for owners.
Nov 1 - 12:47 AM

Kevin Love grabbed 16 rebounds against the Bulls on Friday during an overtime 114-108 win to go with 16 points, one assist, four steals and one 3-pointer on 5-of-17 shooting.

The rebounds are coming in bunches and he's never really been much of a big offensive rebounder anyway, so setting up further from the basket shouldn't hurt his overall output there. Love was actually much better than this stat line suggests, which is a great sign after a slow preseason.
Oct 31 - 11:30 PM

Tristan Thompson had a whopping 12 offensive boards against the Bulls on Friday, adding one defensive rebound, two assists, two blocks and 16 points.

The offensive rebounds were a huge story here and Thompson was so great that he played power forward, unlike Thursday night. He still isn't going to do too much on defense, so fantasy owners shouldn't be too eager to grab him while Anderson Varejao is healthy. From the fun stat department: The last player to have 12 offensive boards and one defensive board was Zydrunas Ilgauskas in 2005.
