Rick Carlisle said that he expects Derek Fisher to help the Mavericks "as a starter."

The Dallas Morning News calls Fisher "probably the eventual starter at point guard," and Carlisle's comments seem to indicate that Darren Collison is set to continue coming off the bench. "I think that's a great role for him right now," Carlisle said. "I really like Darren Collison as a player, and I like him even better as a person. But putting him in a position to be the starter on this team right now isn’t fair to him." Fisher averaged 4.9 points and 1.4 assists on 34.3 percent shooting (20 minutes per game) with OKC last season.

DeMarre Carroll (rest) has been ruled out for Friday against the Celtics.

This was fully expected with Carroll playing on Thursday. He's played very well lately and his minutes are on the rise. Plus, the Raptors could drop the back-to-back limit. Norman Powell will likely get a start while Terrence Ross gets a hefty boost.
Dec 9 - 6:37 PM

Nene will play on Friday and wants to play on Saturday.

The Rockets are on a back-to-back set and have been limiting Nene. Montrezl Harrell has been solid, so it makes sense to rest Nene tomorrow. Clint Capela is having a big season and isn't affected here.
Dec 9 - 6:34 PM

Kevin Love (back) said he will "give it a try" against the Heat on Friday night.

He is going through his pre-game routine and it sounds like he'll be back out there. Love's back locked up on him on Wednesday and he's had a number of back problems before, so the Cavs may be careful with him. If he's limited, we'll see more of LeBron at the four with more of James Jones and the wings.
Dec 9 - 6:20 PM

J.R. Smith (knee) will not play against the Heat on Friday night.

It'll be Smith's second game out of the lineup due to the soreness in his knee. DeAndre Liggins will likely get the start again, but he only attempted two shots from the field on Wednesday. If Kevin Love (back) is also out, there should be plenty of minutes for the wings with LeBron James playing the four. Smith isn't a slam-dunk player to own in standard leagues, especially when he's cold and hurt.
Dec 9 - 5:53 PM

Nikola Vucevic (eye) will play against the Hornets on Friday night.

He will have protective goggles to cover his red right eye. Vucevic did play through his corneal abrasion on Wednesday and was never really in jeopardy of missing this game. He's fully expected to play near his 27.6 minutes per game from this year. Keep him active in a somewhat favorable matchup against the Hornets second unit.
Dec 9 - 5:37 PM

Troy Daniels (illness) is questionable to play against the Warriors on Saturday night.

He played 32 minutes on Thursday night and didn't appear to be ill, so he may have woke up sick today. Daniels wasn't affect by Toney Douglas making an impact, but a possible Vince Carter (hip) return could take shots and minutes away from him. If he's out, Troy Williams, Douglas, Andrew Harrison and Tony Allen could get a few extra minutes.
Dec 9 - 4:34 PM

Moe Harkless (ankle) is probable to play against the Pacers on Saturday.

He had some swelling in his ankle and looked hobbled during pre-game warmups on Thursday, so the extra day seems to have made a difference. His return would bump Evan Turner back to the bench while Allen Crabbe would take a hit and Jake Layman would be out of the rotation. Harkless is exceeding expectations, but he's a hold in standard leagues.
Dec 9 - 4:17 PM

Al-Farouq Aminu (back contusion) is questionable to face the Pacers on Saturday.

He took a really bad fall in the last minute of Thursday's game. Aminu was grabbing his lower back for a while, so clearly the pain has lingered. If he's out, Ed Davis should get minutes in the mid 20s while Meyers Leonard could also benefit. Aminu has potential, but his awful offensive season has kept him from being an asset in most leagues.
Dec 9 - 4:15 PM

Blake Griffin (sore right knee) will be a game-time decision to face the Pelicans on Saturday.

If there is good news, this isn't the same leg that gave him problems last year. On the other hand, Griffin had a swelling issue with his right knee late last month. That Saturday game is the only game for the Clippers between Wednesday and Monday, so it makes sense to just rest him. If he is out, Paul Pierce, Mo Speights, Brandon Bass and the wings would get a few extra minutes. DeAndre Jordan also exploded for a 21-23 line in the last game Blake missed.
Dec 9 - 2:53 PM

Derrick Rose (sore lower back) will not play Friday vs. the Kings.

This will be the second game Rose has missed due to the back injury he suffered Monday. The good news is that Rose is traveling with the Knicks on their current road trip, which would seemingly indicate he is close to returning to action. Brandon Jennings will get the start at point guard. He makes for a solid DFS play Friday in Sacramento. Jennings had 16 points, four rebounds and three assists in 30 minutes in a starting role on Wednesday. He'll likely play more minutes on Friday, assuming the game isn't a blowout, as NY has very little depth behind Jennings at point guard.
Dec 9 - 1:42 PM

Paul Millsap (hip) will play Friday vs. the Bucks.

Millsap has played in two straight games and looked good doing so, averaging 22.5 points, 7.0 rebounds, 3.5 steals and 1.5 blocks. Millsap admitted earlier this week that he is currently playing through pain, but should obviously still be locked into starting lineups.
