Andrea Bargnani (ankle) and Amir Johnson (ankle) will play against the Suns on Friday.

Bargnani was out on Wednesday, but his owners have to be thrilled he's back in the lineup tonight. The Raptors will start Kyle Lowry, DeMar DeRozan, Linas Kleiza, Andrea Bargnani and Jonas Valanciunas against the Suns.

76ers coach Brett Brown said Nerlens Noel could debut as early as Saturday vs. Detroit.

He is traveling with the team again as coach Brown wants him to integrate with the players and staff. His fantasy outlook is cloudy at best in Philly because he's not going to take away minutes from Joel Embiid, meaning he will have to fight for scraps with Jahlil Okafor off the bench. If you're stashing him, you simply have to hope he's traded to a better situation.
Dec 8 - 1:52 PM

Jahlil Okafor (gastroenteritis) has officially been ruled out for Thursday's game vs. New Orleans.

He remained home in Philly as he recovers from his illness. Okafor's next chance to play will be on Saturday vs. Detroit. Joel Embiid will play 28 minutes on Thursday with Richaun Holmes backing him up.
Dec 8 - 1:32 PM

Robert Covington (knee, illness) is available to play on Thursday vs. the Pelicans.

Wow. He was previously ruled out for this contest and was said to be targeting a return on Dec. 11, so his knee must be responding well to treatment. This is Philly we're talking about, so Ro-Co will likely have restrictions on his minutes. Nik Stauskas, Hollis Thompson and even Dario Saric takes a hit with this report.
Dec 8 - 1:29 PM

The Nets have requested waivers on PG Yogi Ferrell.

The Indiana product made 10 appearances for the Nets, averaging 5.4 points and 1.7 assists on 36.7 percent shooting. This could be a sign that Jeremy Lin (hamstring) is on the verge of a return.
Dec 8 - 1:15 PM

Doug McDermott (concussion) said he will play on Thursday vs. the Spurs.

He's been practicing in the D-League to get his conditioning back up, but the Bulls will "watch him closely" even though he doesn't have a minutes limit. McDermott averaged 10.6 points, 1.3 assists and 0.9 triples per contest prior to the concussion, so he's not an add in standard leagues. His return could take a handful of minutes away from Denzel Valentine, Isaiah Canaan and maybe even Nikola Mirotic.
Dec 8 - 1:12 PM

Gordon Hayward (finger) will not play on Thursday vs. the Warriors.

This is a tough blow for a Jazz team that also ruled out Rodney Hood (hamstring) and George Hill (toe) for Thursday, not to mention Derrick Favors (knee). Hayward broke his finger during the preseason and missed the first six games of the campaign, and he aggravated it on Tuesday vs. the Suns -- he played through the injury after he had it re-taped. X-rays were negative, so luckily he's day-to-day. Several players will have to step up, but Joe Johnson and Shelvin Mack look like the best short-term adds in standard leagues.

RotoGrinders.com Daily Slant: With Hayward, Hill, Hood and Favors off the floor this season, Shelvin Mack leads the team in usage at a 27.9% clip (73 minutes) with Joe Johnson right behind him at 27.4% (50 minutes). Trey Lyles and Boris Diaw also own usage rates over 25% with the big four off the floor, so this Utah side provides us with plenty of potential value.
Dec 8 - 1:02 PM

Ian Mahinmi (knee) is questionable for Thursday's game vs. Denver.

He reportedly went through portions of the morning shootaround, so we know he's getting closer. The Wizards have every reason to bring him along slowly, so his minutes will be limited if he's able to play Thursday. Leave him on the wire while Marcin Gortat is healthy.
Dec 8 - 1:01 PM

Jrue Holiday (turf toe) is a game-time call against the 76ers on Thursday.

Holiday says he feels a lot less pain in his toe, so he's truly day-to-day. If the Pelicans take the cautious approach and hold him out, Tim Frazier will be looking at heavy minutes as the fill-in starter, as he played 39 minutes in the double-overtime loss to Memphis on Monday. Check back for an update after the pre-game warmups.
Dec 8 - 12:42 PM

Updating a previous report, Nikola Jokic (wrist) and Jamal Murray (quad) are both available to play Thursday vs. the Wizards.

As expected, the probable tag was just a formality. Nuggets coach Michael Malone is contemplating a lineup change for Thursday and Jokic has a good chance of entering the starting five at the expense of Jusuf Nurkic.
Dec 8 - 12:02 PM

Nikola Jokic (wrist) and Jamal Murray (quad) are probable for Thursday's game vs. the Wizards.

The probable tag is likely just a formality on the second night of a back-to-back set, as both players are fully expected to play. There's no word of any setbacks and Jokic is a candidate to start Thursday's game over Jusuf Nurkic after the Nuggets had a meltdown in Brooklyn Wednesday. His fantasy value is trending up and his owners can look forward to some more great lines after he finished with 14 points, 11 rebounds, three assists and one block in 21 minutes on Wednesday.
Dec 8 - 11:11 AM

DeMarre Carroll's (rest) status for Thursday's game vs. the Wolves is unclear.

He's not cleared for both games of back-to-back sets at least until the new year, meaning he will either sit on Thursday vs. the Wolves or Friday vs. the Celtics. Norman Powell will likely draw the start when Carroll sits which puts him on the streaming and DFS radar. We may not know Carroll's status until an hour or so before tip-off.
