Keith Smart said he's hoping that Tyreke Evans (knee) can play against the Clippers on Saturday.

Tyreke did not play on Friday due to a bruised left knee and is day-to-day. Earlier reports had Evans a little bit closer to doubtful and it makes sense since resting him on Saturday would give him a full week to heal with the Kings off until Wednesday. He'll likely be a game-time decision, so check back for updates but as always be sure to take anything admitted fibber Keith Smart says with some skepticism.

Anthony Davis returned from his shoulder injury and went off for 39 points, 13 rebounds, three steals and eight blocks on 17-of-30 shooting in a tough win over the Pistons on Wednesday.

He'd missed five straight games (and most of a sixth) with a shoulder injury, but went bonkers tonight, playing 42 minutes. Injury concerns with him are real, as he's yet to make it through an entire NBA season, but when he's on the court, there's no one better, unless their named Kevin, LeBron, Russell, James or Stephen, and even then, it's arguable. Get him back in your lineup ASAP.

Russell Westbrook returned from a facial fracture on Wednesday and had a ridiculous triple-double against the 76ers during a 123-118 overtime win, scoring a career-high 49 points with 16 boards, 10 assists, three steals, one block and one 3-pointer in 42 minutes.

Where do we begin? He logged his fourth consecutive triple-double to become the first player since Michael Jordan to do that, became just the third player to log consecutive 40-point triple-doubles in NBA history (Jordan and Pete Maravich), had a career high in boards, and became the second player in the past 30 seasons to drop a 45-15-10 line (Vince Carter). He also had a ridiculous 46.1 usage rate tonight. This guy needed surgery to repair a dent in his face last week. Crazy.

Luol Deng is dealing with a deep thigh bruise and the Heat are hoping he doesn't suffer extensive swelling.

The Heat are off on Thursday and will take on the Wizards on Friday. Deng certainly hasn't been the most durable player in the past three seasons, so he should be considered questionable to play. If he's out, the Heat are in trouble because he's been logging minutes at power forward. Without Deng, the Heat would have to turn to Henry Walker, Michael Beasley and James Ennis more with Walker as the most attractive add. Deng finished with 15 points, six boards and no turnovers in 35 minutes on Wednesday.
Mar 4 - 11:40 PM

Kevin Garnett said the Nuggets "quit" on Brian Shaw following a loss on Wednesday.

"They quit on Brian Shaw, I thought they'd quit again," Garnett said. "A quitter is a quitter." Wow. KG certainly isn't the quiet type, but even this is bold for him. He finished with 11 points, six boards, two assists and one block in 21 minutes. He can be left on the wire in most leagues because he will sit several road games.
Mar 4 - 11:34 PM

Mo Williams had 14 points, 14 assists and two 3-pointers in Wednesday's win over the Nets.

Mo-Will is averaging 21.0 points, 3.4 rebounds, 9.4 assists and 3.0 3-pointers over his last five games, and has double-doubled in three straight. Kemba Walker may be coming back in a week, but the Hornets are getting great mileage out of Williams and now sit in the No. 8 spot as a potential playoff qualifier. It remains to be seen just how the Hornets use Walker when he's available, as things are going well with Williams running the point after winning three straight games.
Mar 4 - 11:32 PM

Marc Gasol hit a running jumper with 0.1 seconds left against the Rockets during a 102-100 win on Wednesday, finishing with 21 points, seven rebounds, six assists and one block on 10-of-14 from the field.

This was a huge win for Memphis because the Rockets were hot on their tails for the No. 2 seed, but now they have a 6.5 game cushion. As for Gasol, he was already coming in very hot in his previous six games since the break, averaging 17.3 points, 7.7 boards, 3.7 dimes, 2.2 blocks and 0.5 steals. He's a top-20 fantasy asset.
Mar 4 - 11:29 PM

Terrence Jones looked great in a tough matchup against the Grizzlies on Wednesday with 21 points, nine rebounds, two steals, one steal and two blocks on 10-of-14 from the field in 36 minutes.

He is on fire. In his last five games, Jones averaged 19.6 points, 8.8 boards, 1.0 assists, 2.2 blocks and 1.0 turnovers on 64.1 percent from the field. He was a very efficient scorer as a backup center last year, but he's clearly surpassing all expectations. The Rockets are in no rush to bring Dwight Howard back and Jones should be a stud for the foreseeable future.
Mar 4 - 11:07 PM

Victor Oladipo hit 15-of-25 shots and four 3-pointers for a career-high 38 points to go along with four rebounds, three assists and three steals in 43 minutes in Wednesday's loss to the Suns.

The bad news is that he had seven turnovers, but we doubt his owners hold it against him, especially after such a big scoring night. The Magic blew a 15-point lead in this one and Oladipo is on a roll, averaging 21.6 points, 5.4 rebounds, 4.2 assists, 1.0 steals and 1.6 3-pointers over his last five games, while shooting a solid 47 percent from the floor. Yes, he's averaging 3.8 turnovers during that stretch as well, but that's to be expected with a young player having the ball in his hands so much.
Mar 4 - 10:19 PM

George Hill had an easy time with the Knicks on Wednesday with 21 points, three rebounds, six assists, one steal and three 3-pointers in 27 minutes.

After an ugly seven-point game to start his second half back on Feb. 20, Hill his starting to get it going again. In his last five, he averaged 15.6 points, 5.2 boards, 6.4 assists, 1.6 steals and 1.4 treys in 30.4 minutes. His groin injury looks to be behind him and he's shaping up to be a must-start player right now.
Mar 4 - 9:47 PM

Jared Dudley will start against the Warriors on Wednesday with Ersan Ilyasova coming off the bench.

Coach Jason Kidd said he likes Dudley's communication skills and he thinks the team needs that during this adjustment period. This isn't the first time Ilyasova gets bumped to the bench and it'll be interesting to see how he responds. Dudley can be left on the wire for now.
Mar 4 - 9:38 PM

O.J. Mayo will not play against the Warriors on Wednesday due to a hamstring injury.

He has been dealing with his on and off for a week, and the Bucks have been pretty quiet on the subject. This sounds eerily similar to last year and Mayo could miss more time. Jerryd Bayless and Tyler Ennis will get more run.
