The Cavs could trade Anderson Varejao, sources tell the Akron-Beacon Journal.

The report sounds more speculative in nature than based in firm fact, but trading Varejao has been an option for the Cavs since before the season started. After having drafted Tyler Zeller, the organization has come "to grips" with the idea that now "might be the time" to deal Varejao. His owners have to be mindful that a possible trade could have a negative impact on his fantasy value down the road.

James Harden scored 21 points during a 102-99 win over the Thunder on Friday, adding nine rebounds, 12 assists, two steals and two 3-pointers in 37 minutes.

He beat his former team, but it certainly wasn't his best game. Harden had eight turnovers and made just 6-of-23 from the field. Interestingly, he's not touching the ball as much since Pat Beverley has returned. Before Beverley, Harden had a time of possession of 9.5 minutes per game, but that number has dropped to 8.7 in the previous 11 games before tonight. He's still going to be a stat monster and so much for coach Mike D'Antoni dropping his minutes, right?
Dec 10 - 12:36 AM

C.J. Miles hit six 3-pointers on his way to 18 points against the Mavericks on Friday.

He was 6-of-9 from the field and all of his attempts were from beyond the arc. He played 28 minutes and added four rebounds, one assist and two steals, but this comes on the heels of a two-point dud on Wednesday vs. the Suns. He's a fun player to own when he gets hot, so taking a flier on him if you need triples is the right call.
Dec 10 - 12:17 AM

Steven Adams had a career-high 24 points during a 102-99 loss to the Rockets on Friday, adding 10 rebounds, one assist, one steal and one block in 29 minutes.

He was 8-of-9 from both the line and the field in this gem. Quite remarkably, Adams is up to 77.0 percent from the line on his 3.2 attempts per game this season. That percentage is way up from his 58.2 percent from last year, which really explains his massive rise in the fantasy ranks despite a drop in block rate. He has sixth-round value on the season for standard leagues.
Dec 10 - 12:12 AM

Russell Westbrook posted his seventh consecutive triple-double in a loss to the Rockets on Friday, scoring 27 points with 10 rebounds, 10 assists, three steals and eight turnovers in 36 minutes.

He's the first player to triple-double for seven straight since Michael Jordan in 1989. On the other hand, his efficiency was bad today with 25 attempts from the field, making only eight of those. Westbrook's usage rate tonight (45.5) was higher than his true shooting percentage (44.6) and playing time. He's on a record pace for the season at 40.4 usage rate to go with these ridiculous triple-doubles. We've never seen a player like this.
Dec 10 - 12:02 AM

T.J. Warren (head) will return to practice on Saturday.

He's been out of commission since Nov. 18 against the Pacers. Warren has been doing some individual workouts for the past few days, but his return to practice doesn't mean he will play on Sunday vs. New Orleans. However, this is tremendous news for the Suns and Warren should be picked up in all leagues after he put up averages of 17.7 points, 4.3 rebounds, 1.0 assist, 1.9 steals and 0.6 triples on 45.8 percent shooting prior to the injury.
Dec 9 - 11:53 PM

Kyle Lowry remained on fire during a 101-94 win at Boston on Friday, scoring 34 points with seven rebounds, two assists, three steals and four 3-pointers.

He may be the hottest scorer in the NBA right now. In his last seven, he has an 81.3 true shooting percentage and a 23.3 usage rate in 35 minutes for his 25.3 points per game. On top of the hot scoring, Lowry's averages are up in minutes, treys, boards, dimes and free throw percentage compared to last year. Basically, Kyle Lowry over everything.
Dec 9 - 11:50 PM

Harrison Barnes scored 25 points on 10-of-17 shooting in Friday's 111-103 win over the Pacers.

It was just the fifth win of the season for the Mavs. Barnes racked up eight rebounds with two assists and hit all three of his triples, but only hit 2-of-4 from the line. He's returning top-75 value in standard leagues and has nearly doubled his scoring average from last season.
Dec 9 - 11:42 PM

Norman Powell was awesome in his 36-minute start for DeMarre Carroll (rest) on Friday, scoring 20 points with three rebounds, two assists, three 3-pointers and a career-high five steals.

He was fantastic and he was a difference maker in a pinch. "It's about staying ready for my time to be called. When it's my turn, I'm ready," Powell said after the game. The Raptors will get DeMarre Carroll back for the next game and his back-to-back restriction could go away, so Powell's season-long value doesn't look promising while the Raps are healthy. DFS owners will obviously want to remember this the next time Carroll or DeMar DeRozan are out.
Dec 9 - 11:33 PM

Paul Millsap (hip) scored 23 points (8-of-15 FGs, 6-of-8 FTs) with 14 rebounds, six assists, one steal, three blocks and one 3-pointer in Friday's win over the Bucks.

Wait, he's not 100 percent? Since returning from a three-game absence, Millsap is averaging 22.7 points, 9.3 rebounds, 4.0 assists, 2.0 blocks, 2.7 steals and 0.7 triples in his last three games. The buy-low window is officially closed and the All-Star PF now gets four days to rest before the Hawks take on the Magic on Tuesday.
Dec 9 - 11:23 PM

Dennis Schroder scored a career-high 33 points on 12-of-19 shooting in Friday's 114-110 win over the Bucks.

Maybe he got tired of all the talk about his backup, Malcolm Delaney. Schroder has been a beast lately, scoring 15+ points in seven straight games and shooting above 50 percent in all but one of them. He played a season-high 40 minutes in the win and even logged some minutes next to Delaney with Kent Bazemore (knee) on the shelf. His slow start to the season is behind him and he will try to help the Hawks win their third straight game on Tuesday vs. Orlando.
Dec 9 - 11:17 PM

LeBron James scored 27 points with eight rebounds, eight assists, three steals and one 3-pointer in 37 minutes against the Heat on Friday.

He passed Elvin Hayes for ninth on the NBA's all-time scoring list. James is also going to pass Moses Malone in about another week and needs just 95 points to do so. On the lighter side, it was 80's night at The Q and the Cavs had a funny team video tonight (in link below).
