Carmelo Anthony's finger was "numb" after Wednesday's game, and he's questionable for Thursday's game against the Heat.

Anthony said that he'll have to talk to doctors to get clearance to play, although he did say "I want to play in Miami" following Wednesday's win. Anthony will see how he can grip the ball on Thursday, so owners will have to check back for an update.

Chris Paul scored 22 points on 8-of-23 shooting Sunday, to go with seven assists, two rebounds, two 3-pointers, one steal and just one turnover in 34 minutes.

Paul couldn't get anything to drop to start the game, going 0-of-9 from the field, but in typical CP3 fashion he connected on eight of his final 14 shot attempts to close out the win. He's going to be a top-3 option moving forward.

Al Jefferson (knee surgery) began non-contact and conditioning drills on Saturday, Jan. 30.

"My lungs hurt," he said, "but it still feels good to get back on the court and get back running again, and don't feel pain when I run." When asked about his return date, Big Al replied, "They said it depends on how I feel. If I had my way, I'd like to get at least one game, maybe two games, in before the break." There have been no indications that Jefferson will play this week, and the Hornets will assuredly be cautious with his return, so owners shouldn't expect to see him until after the All-Star break. If he's still floating on your waiver wire, it's time to think about grabbing him.

Carmelo Anthony (knee) said that he will play in the All-Star game, though he admitted that his knee "[isn't] gonna heal in a week ... or even two weeks."

He recently had a precautionary MRI which ruled out structural damage, and Derek Fisher thinks Melo will be fine "long term," but this is still a huge concern for fantasy owners. New York is five games out of the playoff picture, dropping nine of their past 10 games, and the prospect of a shutdown looms larger with each defeat. His fantasy appeal is tanking, making it hard to extract value in a trade, but owners may want to see what opposing GMs think he's worth.

Elfrid Payton double-doubled with 12 points and 12 assists on Sunday, adding four rebounds, two 3-pointers, one steal, one block and three turnovers through 32 minutes of action.

Payton managed to shoot 5-of-10 from the field in this one, which was a nice surprise for a guy knocking down just 42.0 percent of his shots on the season. The assists were a season-high, but these type of outing have been few and far between for a guy currently ranked well outside the top-150 in standard leagues. Payton's game translates much better to points formats.
Feb 7 - 4:51 PM

Jared Sullinger tied his season high on Sunday with 21 points, making 10-of-13 shots with six rebounds, three steals and one assist in just 23 minutes of action.

Sullinger hadn't scored more than 18 points since Nov. 6, as his shot has abandoned him for long stretches this season -- he's shooting just 41.9 percent overall. This mini-eruption came vs. a Kings team that ranks 22nd in defensive efficiency and first in pace, at 102.1 possessions per game, so it was an ideal matchup for Sullinger. Consistent playing time is the biggest issue for his fantasy value, and that's unlikely to change after one efficient performance.
Feb 7 - 4:44 PM

Tyler Zeller scored a season-high 17 points vs. Sacramento on Sunday, sinking 6-of-8 FGs and 5-of-5 FTs with seven rebounds, two blocks and one assist.

Zeller did his damage in just 22 minutes and he's demanding a share of frontcourt minutes -- over his past four games he's averaging 13.8 points on 68.6 percent shooting, to go along with 6.5 rebounds, 1.5 assists and 1.3 blocks. He's playing just 20.8 minutes during that span, however, and most owners should leave him on the wire.
Feb 7 - 4:40 PM

Rajon Rondo (turf toe) had 14 points, 15 assists, six steals, five rebounds and one 3-pointer vs. his former team on Sunday, committing four turnovers in a tough loss at Boston.

He shot 5-of-10 from the field with all five misses coming within three feet of the hoop. For what it's worth, Rondo defended embattled coach George Karl after Friday's loss, saying, "It has nothing to do with the coaches, it's about us. We don't sacrifice enough to do what it takes to win consecutive games." The best news for his fantasy owners is that his turf toe has yet to cause him any DNPs.

Kristaps Porzingis notched his second straight double-double on Sunday with 21 points, 13 rebounds, two assists and two blocks, but it wasn't enough to avoid the Knicks' fifth straight loss.

KP shot 10-of-23 from the field with one make from downtown -- he wasn't very effective from mid-range with the exception of the right wing, where he shot 4-of-4. KP said before the game that the struggling Knicks "need a guy like 'Melo who you can give the ball and he will score, he will get to the line and he will make plays for others." If Anthony's knee injury eventually forces a shutdown, Porzingis may need to be that guy in the final stages of the Knicks' season.

Nikola Vucevic scored 22 points on 11-of-19 shooting (including a game-winning, turnaround jumper) on Sunday, to go with nine boards, two assists, two steals and an unfortunate six turnovers in 35 minutes.

Vucevic's value has dipped to fifth-round status over the past month, largely due to the fact that he's been shooting just 43.5 percent from the field, so tonight's 57.8 percent shooting performance was a welcome sight for his owners. As a career 51.0 percent shooter, Vuc should get the shooting sorted out soon enough, so now would be a good time to float out some buy-low offers. The video of the buzzer-beating shot can be viewed in the video below.
Feb 7 - 4:30 PM

Joffrey Lauvergne double-doubled in 29 minutes on Sunday, scoring 12 points with 10 rebounds (four offensive), one assist, one block and three turnovers.

Lauvergne earned most of his minutes as a backup center, even playing ahead of Nikola Jokic down the stretch, though he also played some PF alongside Jusuf Nurkic due to the absence of Darrell Arthur (quad). Lauvergne has fallen out of the rotation for long stretches, and he's exceeded 30 minutes once all season, so he's only worth a glance in very deep leagues.
Feb 7 - 4:27 PM

Kent Bazemore went off for 23 points on 8-of-17 shooting Sunday, to go with eight boards, one assist, three 3-pointers, two steals and four turnovers through 33 minutes of action.

Bazemore had been struggling over the past month, but he's been trending up over the past four games, owning averages of 13.5 points, 5.3 rebounds, 3.5 assists, 1.5 steals, 1.8 three-pointers and 2.5 turnovers per game, which has been good enough for top-80 value in standard leagues.
