Dion Waiters (ankle), who will not play on Friday, does not sound likely to play on Saturday against the Pistons.

Byron Scott "doesn't expect" Waiters to play Saturday, but owners should obviously check back for an update as a lot can change until that time. Friday will make the third straight game Waiters has missed. Make sure he's on your bench, while Daniel Gibson, C.J. Miles and Alonzo Gee will all get a boost in his absence.

Coach Scott Brooks said Jason Smith (sprained right shoulder) would not play Friday vs. the Pistons and that Kelly Oubre would be inserted into the starting lineup.

DeAndre Bembry (right wrist) suffered a fracture and will be re-evaluated on Monday.

This is a a really tough blow for a guy who had a great offseason, and already suffered a muscle tear to his triceps. With him out, Marco Belinelli will get minutes in the mid 20s while Taurean Prince and Kent Bazemore also see more playing time. Luke Babbitt figures to be in the rotation more often, as well.
Oct 20 - 5:19 PM

Stanley Johnson (back) is a game-time decision to face the Wizards on Friday.

He did not go through shootaround, so this is expected. Johnson had a rough start on Wednesday with his 0-of-13 shooting line, but he was useful besides that. If he can't go, Tobias Harris would likely slide over to the three while Jon Leuer and Henry Ellenson man the PF minutes. Maybe we get to see Boban Marjanovic with Leuer moving over, too.
Oct 20 - 5:00 PM

There are fears that Chris Paul's (knee) injury could sideline him for a month, according to Marc Stein of the New York Times.

Officially, Paul is listed as day-to-day, but he has already been ruled out for Saturday against the Mavs. Paul originally suffered the injury against the Grizzlies in a preseason game on Oct. 11, and you could tell he wasn't right in the opener. Coach Mike D'Antoni said that it's only a bruise, but obviously there is some concern here. James Harden and Eric Gordon will get big minutes until CP3 can make it back. It sounds like the Rockets won't play him until he's 100 percent.
Oct 20 - 4:40 PM

Frank Ntilikina turned his ankle at practice on Friday and needed help off the court.

We don't know the severity of the injury, but this obviously isn't great. Ntilikina was the third point guard in the rotation on Thursday and now he could miss Saturday's game against the Pistons. We'll have an update on him at some point, but it's going to be a while before he's a regular contributor.
Oct 20 - 3:53 PM

Rodney Hood is not at 100 percent yet, but will start against the Wolves on Friday.

His illness kept him out of the starting lineup and at just 18 minutes on Wednesday, but he should be able to get to minutes in the mid 20s today. Hood is fully expected to be the top perimeter scoring option with the Jazz. Donovan Mitchell got the start, but he played most of his minutes at point guard. Get Hood in your lineups for tonight.
Oct 20 - 3:32 PM

Denzel Valentine (knee) didn’t practice on Friday.

That's not a good sign and he is questionable for Saturday against the Spurs. Valentine played both wing spots off the bench with 26 total minutes, so he would be a key piece for this rotation. If he can't go, backup point guard Kay Felder would be busy in his time while David Nwaba would probably pick up most of the backup wing minutes.
Oct 20 - 3:26 PM

Alexis Ajinca underwent successful bilateral knee injections on Thursday and is expected to miss 4-6 weeks.

He has been injured since Oct. 8 and missed some game action. Ajinca wasn't a lock to be in the rotation with Check Diallo playing minutes next to both DeMarcus Cousins and Anthony Davis in the preseason, but Diallo only played one minute in the opener.
Oct 20 - 3:21 PM

Domantas Sabonis will start for Myles Turner (concussion, neck) on Friday against the Blazers and Saturday against the Heat.

He played 19 minutes in the opener with only about five minutes at power forward, so the Pacers are comfortable with him being the defensive backbone on an up-tempo team -- he is nowhere near the impact player Turner is, of course. Also, Al Jefferson lost a lot of weight this summer, so he likely gets in the rotation after not playing i the opener. If you want to add Sabonis for the weekend, he is worth a look in deeper leagues.
Oct 20 - 2:58 PM

Myles Turner (concussion, sore neck) will not play against the Blazers on Friday and Saturday against the Heat.

He is still dealing with symptoms of the concussion and he will move through the concussion protocol once he's symptom free. After apparently suffering an injury on a cross-screen play, Turner's neck injury got worse yesterday and now it would appear the medical staff diagnosed him with the concussion today. He did talk to the media after Wednesday's game, so the team probably didn't catch the concussion two days ago. With him out, Domantas Sabonis figures to get the start and should play minutes close to 30.

Tyler Ulis (thigh) is expected to play against the Lakers on Friday.

He was kneed in practice and he said he'll play in this home game. Ulis did actually get plenty of minutes next to Eric Bledsoe, so he could wind up getting minutes in the mid 20s after getting just 15 in the opener. Ulis is still more of a handcuff, but he could have value in deeper leagues.
