Updating a previous item, Ricky Rubio (knee surgery) will not make his season debut on Friday.

Rubio was reportedly "angling to play" on Friday, but we never thought he had a serious chance to suit up. He'll be out again, and is likely looking at a return some time between December 12-15. He obviously shouldn't be floating on any waiver wires with his return around the corner, but he's not quite there yet.

The Orlando Magic are signing G Rashad Vaughn to a 10-day contract, according to Shams Charania of Yahoo Sports.

Vaughn was traded twice over a three-day span earlier this month, before being waived by the Pelicans. Selected 17th overall in the 2015 NBA draft out of UNLV, Vaughn has averaged 3.1 points and 1.1 rebounds over 134 career games. He can be left on waivers.

Brandon Rush has agreed to a 10-day contract with the Blazers, according to Adrian Wojnarowski‏ of ESPN.

Rush has played for four different teams over his nine-year NBA career. He averaged 4.2 points and 2.1 rebounds in 47 games (33 starts) for the Timberwolves last season. He should be left on waivers, as it's unlikely he'll be able to carve out a role in the Blazers rotation.

The Knicks have signed F Troy Williams to a 10-day contract.

The Rockets waived Williams last week to sign Joe Johnson. The Knicks had an open roster spot, so they didn't need to cut anyone on their active roster. Williams played in 30 games for the Grizzlies and Rockets in 2016-17, but has appeared in just four contests for Houston this season. Williams might see some playing time in New York, as the Knicks are thin at small forward, but he can be left on waivers in standard-sized leagues

According to Candace Buckner of the Washington Post, John Wall (knee surgery) "no longer needs crutches and shows no visible hitch in his walk."

It's been two weeks since his surgery, and while John Wall didn't reveal much, he hinted that he's still hoping to return between the 6- to 8-week mark. "I haven’t really tried to get back on the court yet so, just doing the little things. And I haven’t started running yet. So whenever I get to that point I can kind of start grasping stuff and understanding what level I’m at but right now it’s between six to eight weeks," he said. "It might be longer but I don’t know. I haven’t got to that point." We'll continue to track his progress every step of the way, but it's possible he returns in time to help his owners in the fantasy playoffs.

LeBron James led his All-Star team to a spirited win on Sunday with 29 points, 10 rebounds, eight assists, four 3-pointers and one steal in a game-high 31 minutes.

LeBron earned All-Star MVP honors and his team played surprisingly aggressive defense down the stretch, including a suffocating double-team against Stephen Curry at the end of regulation. In the process, LeBron passed Oscar Robertson for fifth-most assists in All-Star game history, and he's just two assists behind Bob Cousy. King James wasn't messing around tonight, and we can only hope this sets the tone for future All-Star games.
Feb 18 - 11:47 PM

Joel Embiid (ankle) finished his first All-Star game with 19 points on 8-of-13 shooting, two 3-pointers, eight rebounds and two blocks.

Embiid missed Philly's final game before the break due to swelling in his right ankle, and he admitted that he wasn't feeling "so good" during Friday's Rising Stars game. He added one steal and one assist in just 20 minutes tonight, and moved well while he was on the court, so we anticipate him being ready to roll vs. Chicago on Feb 22.

Donovan Mitchell won the Verizon Slam Dunk Contest.

He broke out the Vince Carter jersey for the "it's over" 360 dunk to clinch it. Dennis Smith Jr. still had the best dunk of the night with his wild through-the-leg jam, but the judges weren't fans of his first dunk. Mitchell continues to shine with his in-game dunks as one of the best values in fantasy hoops.

Spurs general manager R.C. Buford said that the foot injury Manu Ginobili suffered Tuesday night does not "appear to be anything severe."

Ginobili was injured midway through the third quarter of Tuesday's night loss to Denver. He limped to the locker room and was unable to return. However, both the X-rays and the MRI came back negative. "It didn't appear to be anything severe," Buford said. "He got treatment, saw people and then left on his All-Star vacation plans." The Spurs don't play again until next Friday, so Manu will have plenty of time to rest and should be good to go after the break.
Feb 16 - 9:20 AM

Taj Gibson scored a career-high 28 points with seven rebounds, one assist, one steal and two blocks in 39 minutes against the Lakers on Thursday.

He continues to be the steady hand and maybe he's just what the Wolves needed to be a playoff team. They are tied with the Spurs for the No. 3 spot in the Western Conference and may have the inside track for that spot with the Spurs having a really tough schedule ahead. Gibson has quietly coasted to top-40 value in nine-category leagues this season and has been a steal for his fantasy owners. In Thibs he trusts.
Feb 15 - 11:47 PM

Jimmy Butler scored 24 points with five rebounds, four assists, one steal, three blocks and one turnover in 41 minutes against the Lakers on Thursday.

He and coach Tom Thibodeau seem to be a good fit together with Jimmy playing some of his best ball right now. According to NBA.com's David Aldridge, Thibs could "do whatever is necessary" to keep Butler on the Wolves for a long time, which could include an extension this summer. Either way, his fantasy owners have a stud on their hands the rest of the way, but the Wolves have played two more games than every other team in the NBA. His fantasy owners may want to check how that affects them.
Feb 15 - 11:44 PM

Ivica Zubac scored put up season-highs 19 points and 11 rebounds in 20 minutes during a 119-111 loss to the Wolves on Thursday.

He only scored 23 points for the entire season before tonight, so this was a shocker. Zubac has reportedly been very impressive in the G League and it looks like the Lakers will go back to giving him minutes. He was really starting to turn the corner last season before a season-ending injury, so maybe the Lakers try it again. He did only play six minutes combined in the last two games, so he still has a lot of work to do before he becomes a hot pickup in standard leagues. He's more of a mystery-box stash in deeper leagues.
