Daniel Gibson (right ankle sprain) will be active Friday against the Pacers.

Gibson sat out Wednesday after injuring himself Tuesday. Still, given the injury, it remains to be seen how much he'll play behind Dion Waiters and C.J. Miles.

Markieff Morris tweeted on Thursday night his "future will not be in Phoenix."

He finished the tweet with "#thatisall #backtothegrind #FOE." Morris' "family over everything" mentality has been a massive headache to the Suns, but so far they will not acquiesce and to Morris' trade demands. In fact the Suns Twitter account wished Markieff a happy birthday on Wednesday. A trade would likely hurt Markieff's trade value and one would think they'd get a power forward back in the deal.

Trail Blazers GM Neil Olshey said that beyond Damian Lillard, the starting lineup in Portland is for head coach Terry Stotts to decide.

Olshey went on to say that C.J. McCollum is a "big time player," and that while a starting backcourt of Lillard and McCollum could struggle with size, the Blazers could "make it work." McCollum had a bit of a coming out party during the playoffs last year, averaging 17.0 points, 4.0 rebounds, 2.2 three-pointers and 1.2 steals through 33.2 minutes of action, so he’ll make for a solid late-round target on draft day.

The Timberwolves are reportedly looking to trade Ricky Rubio, according to Gigantes Del Basket and the Boston Globe's Gary Washburn.

While there doesn't seem to be an imminent move here, it sounds as if the Wolves are gauging the market to see what they can get for the 24-year-old. Rubio is scheduled to be ready for training camp after undergoing ankle surgery in April, but he'll be a risky mid-round selection in fantasy drafts no matter where he lands.
Sep 3 - 10:46 AM

Chandler Parsons (knee) has yet to begin running or cutting, but he is doing heavy weight-lifting with his surgically-repaired leg.

Parsons has also resumed shooting around, including one-dribble pull-ups, and he's optimistic that he'll be ready for the Mavs' season opener. Whether he'll participate in training camp or the preseason is unclear, but at least it doesn't sound like he'll miss many (if any) games to begin the season.
Sep 2 - 8:22 PM

Jarell Martin suffered a broken foot and will be out indefinitely.

It's a tough start for the 2015 first round and he almost certainly won't be ready for the opener. Martin wasn't going to be in the rotation to start the year, but foot injuries have caused several big men problems these days. If the Grizzlies become short-handed, expect guys like Jarnell Stokes and Brandan Wright to get more minutes.
Sep 2 - 8:09 PM

Glen Davis will have surgery on Wednesday to repair torn ligaments, a cyst and a bone spur in his left ankle.

He is expected to miss 8-12 weeks, which means he won't be ready for the start of the season. Davis remains unsigned and he'll likely remain a free agent when the NBA season tips off. If teams lose players due to injury during the year, they may be more inclined to contact Big Baby.
Sep 2 - 6:04 PM

Nik Stauskas scored 15 points against Cuba on Wednesday, adding six rebounds, four assists and one 3-pointer in 23 minutes.

He was being much more aggressive and was even turning down some 3-pointers. Stauskas is the heavy favorite to start at shooting guard on an NBA team desperately seeking production from beyond the arc. Yes, his rookie season was a disaster, but the opportunity on his new team makes him an ideal late-round flier.
Sep 2 - 5:39 PM

Nikola Pekovic has yet to go through any basketball activities since undergoing ankle surgery in April.

Pekovic only managed to make it through 31 games last season, putting up averages of 12.5 points and 7.5 rebounds per game on 42.4 percent shooting from the field. He'll be joining a crowded frontcourt rotation next season featuring Karl-Anthony Towns and Gorgui Dieng, and given his extensive injury history, head coach Flip Saunders will likely do the best he can to limit his minutes by bringing him off the bench. Spending a draft pick on Pek would be a waste in most leagues.
Sep 2 - 1:19 PM

Ricky Rubio (ankle) has been fully cleared to play, but has yet to go through any full contact drills.

Rubio underwent ankle surgery back in April, but it appears that he'll enter training camp 100 percent healthy. Still, in Rubio's four-year career he's only managed to stay healthy for one season, and last year he suited up for just 22 games. He can light up the assist category, and pile up steals numbers, but his poor field goal percentage and complete lack of a 3-point shot really limits his upside. Rubio will make for a risky mid-round selection on draft day.
Sep 2 - 1:13 PM

Kendall Marshall has been at the 76ers' practice facility the past few days and at this point it seems likely that he will get a training camp invite with the club, according to sources of Jake Fischer.

If Marshall does receive a camp invite from the Sixers, he would be the team's 20th and final player at training camp. Marshall is more than capable of being the starting point guard on a bad team, as he averaged 8.0 points, 8.8 assists and 1.3 three-pointers per game through 54 games with the Lakers during the 2013-14 season. Assuming he makes the squad in Philadelphia, he'd be well worth a late-round selection on draft day for owners looking to shore up the assist category.
Sep 2 - 11:28 AM

Ricky Rubio said that he's seen Karl-Anthony Towns working out in Minnesota this summer, and that he was impressed with Towns' shooting range.

"I have seen [Towns] working out this summer in Minnesota," said Rubio. "I can tell he is a great player and not just like a big centre, he can really shoot the ball, he can play in the pick-and-pop and he is really going to surprise some people." If head coach Flip Saunders allows it, Towns has the potential to develop into a legitimate threat from beyond the arc. Add that to the fact that he's an above-average shot blocker, and it's easy to see why he'll likely cost you a mid-round selection on draft day.
