Gustavo Ayon had nine points, 12 rebounds and three assists in a start at PF for Orlando on Sunday, playing 37 minutes in place of injured Glen Davis (strained shoulder).

With Big Baby out approximately 4-6 weeks, Ayon looks like a nice source of short-term value. His double-double potential will jump out the most in boxscores, but he also has career averages of 0.7 steals and 0.7 blocks in a mere 18 minutes per game. One caveat worth mentioning -- the Jazz fouled Ayon with 2.4 seconds left in a two-point game, and the career 61.1 percent FT shooter clanked them both.

Chandler Parsons went to the locker room in the second quarter on Saturday and has returned to action.

He threw down an emphatic slam in transition, but didn't look right following that play. Parsons walked back without a significant limp and he's likely just dealing with some soreness to his knee, which kept him out of action since Apr. 4.
Apr 18 - 10:35 PM

Derrick Rose looked 100 percent during a 103-91 win over the Bucks on Saturday, scoring 23 points with seven assists, two steals, one block and three 3-pointers.

He made 9-of-16 from the field and made the most of the Bucks not bringing double-teams to him. Rose said multiple times in the post-game interview on ESPN that he had open looks because the Bucks didn't double, so expect that message to be received loud and clear in Game 2 on Monday. Of course, Rose looking great tonight is a top-five story from the day.
Apr 18 - 10:11 PM

Jimmy Butler scored a playoff career-high 25 points against the Bucks on Saturday with two rebounds, six assists, one steal and two 3-pointers on 8-of-14 from the field and 7-of-8 from the line in 35 minutes.

He wasn't in foul trouble and the Bulls having some depth in their frontcourt may have taken away a couple minutes from Butler. Of course, his increased efficiency and usage rate offset the decrease in playing time. The Bulls are going to be a dangerous team with Butler making his case for the Most Improved Player this season.
Apr 18 - 10:08 PM

Dwight Howard is expected to play more in the postseason than he did in the regular season.

Coach Kevin McHale said the Rockets will play it by ear with Dwight's minutes. Dwight was up to 28 minutes on Apr. 12 and he should get over the 30-minute plateau tonight. There will be less minutes going to Joey Dorsey.
Apr 18 - 7:49 PM

Stephen Curry scored 34 points during a 106-99 Game 1 win over the Pelicans on Saturday, adding four rebounds, five assists, three steals and four 3-pointers in 40 minutes.

He had 13 attempts from deep and snapped a six-game streak of making at least 45 percent from that range heading into today. The Warriors looked like they were going to have one of their patented blowouts with a fast start in the third quarter, but credit the Pelicans for not going away. Now that Curry will be logging big minutes more often, expect him to have plenty of 30-point games.
Apr 18 - 7:17 PM

Draymond Green stuffed the stat sheet against the Pelicans on Saturday with 15 points, 12 boards, seven assists, three steals, two blocks and one 3-pointer in 42 minutes.

Up until the last five minutes of the game, Green did a great job on Anthony Davis. Green only played 30.3 minutes per game in March and April, so he's clearly set for a major bump in playing time. He had his coming out party in the postseason last year and he could take yet another big step forward this time around.
Apr 18 - 7:11 PM

Andrew Bogut played 30 minutes against the Pelicans on Saturday with 12 points, 14 boards, five assists, two steals and two blocks.

His help defense was great at times and his presence in the paint on both ends is huge for the Warriors. Bogut only played 23.6 minutes per game in the regular season, but he'll see his minutes rise to 30 now. Subsequently, Marreese Speights could play less and was essentially out of the rotation today.
Apr 18 - 6:57 PM

Anthony Davis' terrific game wasn't enough against the Warriors during a 106-99 loss on Saturday, scoring 35 points with seven rebounds, one assist, one steal and four blocks.

He scored 20 points in 12 fourth-quarter minutes and his advanced stats were truly awesome. In that frame, he had a true shooting percentage of 79.1, a usage rate of 42.8 and a net rating of 44.0, which made this game fairly close after it looked to be over in the third. The Pelicans need to give him the ball more or else they'll be out of the playoffs in four games. That's even more true with Tyreke Evans (knee) suffering a knee injury.
Apr 18 - 6:53 PM

Tyreke Evans (knee) said he "felt a little pop" in his left knee on Saturday and will have an MRI Saturday night.

Coach Monty Williams said this is a new injury for Evans. The Pelicans were just starting to get healthy, but now they might be without their top scoring guard. If he's out, Norris Cole would likely draw the start unless the team wants to lift Jrue Holiday's minutes limit. We'll look for the results on the MRI later today.
Apr 18 - 6:42 PM

Paul Pierce was fantastic against the Raptors during a 93-86 overtime win on Saturday, scoring a game-high 20 points with four rebounds, one steal, one block and four 3-pointers on 7-of-10 from the field in 37 minutes.

After the game, Pierce said he felt good and that he needed the rest heading into the postseason. Pierce didn't play 37 minutes in any game during the 2015 part of the schedule, so clearly the Wizards had planned on increasing his minutes going into this postseason run. He also moved past James Worthy for 22nd on the all-time postseason scoring list.
Apr 18 - 4:33 PM

Nene scored 12 points with 13 boards, one assist and one steal in 21 minutes against the Raptors on Saturday.

He was on the injury report for foot, shoulder and ankle issues, but you wouldn't know it based on his seven offensive boards and effective rim protection. Nene didn't play in five of the final seven games in the regular season to help him get ready for the postseason. He did mention earlier this week that his plantar fascia isn't healthy, so he'll be an injury risk going forward.
