Meyers Leonard will be out at least two games with his sprained ankle.

Leonard will meet with doctors on Wednesday in Portland to determine how long he'll be out, but it'll be two games at the minimum. "It's a pretty straightforward sprain," Blazers athletic trainer Jay Jensen said. "We think he'll be fine." X-Rays were negative, so all signs point to Leonard escaping serious injury. Joel Freeland and Jared Jeffries are candidates to pick up the slack.

Kyrie Irving (knee) is doubtful to be ready for the Cavs' regular-season opener on October 27, and there's a chance he's not able to go until January, according to sources of Chris Haynes.

Kyrie's initial timetable was set at 3-4 months back in June, but the Cavs could be extremely cautious in bringing back one of their franchise players, which is the thinking behind the potential January return date. Cleveland will also be monitoring Irving's minutes upon his initial return, so owners that take him with an early-round selection on draft day will need to practice some patience. Mo Williams would likely slide into the starting lineup for however long Irving is sidelined, making him a more alluring late-round selection on draft day. We will continue to provide updates on Irving's tentative return date, but this news makes it tough to spend a first-round selection on Uncle Drew.

Anthony Davis has put on 12 pounds of muscle this summer, bringing his weight to 253 pounds while maintaining 10 percent body fat.

"[Davis is] going to be stronger, faster, quicker and more explosive this year," said Pelicans head strength and conditioning coach Jason Sumerlin. "He talks about it all the time. He feels it. His trunk stability is a huge thing. Whenever he has been down low with the big guys, he kind of collapses [at his midsection]. He’s starting to understand how to use his body more efficiently now." All the more reason to take Davis with the No. 1 overall pick on draft day, as he'll look to build upon last season's impressive averages of 24.4 points, 10.2 rebounds, 2.2 assists, 1.5 steals, 2.9 blocks and just 1.4 turnovers per game. Yeah, he's going to be a monster.

Bojan Bogdanovic went down with an ankle injury during Croatia's friendly against Bosnia and Herzegovina on Thursday, and did not return to the game.

Bogdanovic was withheld from the rest of the contest as a precautionary measure, and while he's scheduled to undergo further testing, the injury is not believed to be serious. He will not play in Friday's friendly against Israel, but remains hopeful he'll be able to compete during EuroBasket, which begins on September 5.

Jrue Holiday (leg) will be ready for the start of the regular season, according to Scott Kushner of The Advocate.

While it's nice to hear that Holiday is progressing, Kushner also reports that Holiday will be eased back into action and will be on a minutes restriction to start the season. The 25-year-old possesses plenty of upside, but he's also missed 90 games over the past two seasons and is a risky mid-round pick for fantasy owners.

A spokesperson for Derrick Rose denied recent allegations that Rose drugged and sexually assaulted a woman in 2013.

With very serious allegations being thrown at Rose, a spokesperson for the Bulls guard released a statement on Thursday morning. "The plaintiff's allegations are completely false and without any factual basis," the statement read. "This is nothing more than a desperate attempt to shake down a highly respected and successful athlete. The plaintiff expressed no complaints about Mr. Rose until various lawyers demanded that plaintiff be paid millions of dollars. We have complete confidence that the case will be dismissed and Mr. Rose will be vindicated. This lawsuit is outrageous." We'll keep an eye on this situation as it develops, but it sounds like Rose is vehemently denying allegations.

Brandon Jennings (left Achilles) said he would be "fine" coming off the bench behind Reggie Jackson this season.

Jennings is taking the high road as he seeks to return from a devastating injury that may force him to miss the beginning of the season, and it's a given that Detroit will start Jackson after locking him up with a five-year, $80 million pact this summer. Jennings, who hasn't played in seven months, said that he's been studying tape of Tim Hardaway, Kenny Anderson and James Harden during his rehab. "I don't know if I'll be ready for training camp," he said. "I'm definitely going to take my time through training camp and also through the preseason. I probably won't be back to myself until at least around December. That's for sure." If you weren't leery of drafting Jennings until the final rounds this season, that final quote ought to do the trick.

The Clippers are reportedly "confident" that Glen Davis will re-sign this summer, though the Mavericks have also contacted the free-agent PF/C.

Davis might play in Europe or China if no suitable contract materializes in the NBA, and it's almost certain that the Mavs and Clips are offering him the veteran's minimum. It would be bitterly ironic if Dallas manages to poach Davis from the Clippers, having failed to land DeAndre Jordan, but Big Baby is irrelevant in fantasy leagues no matter where he's playing.

Moe Harkless is currently dealing with a sprained ankle, and he may not be able to play for Puerto Rico at the FIBA Americas tournament this summer.

Harkless is scheduled to fly to Portland to be evaluated by the team's medical staff, so we'll be monitoring this story closely. For what it's worth, Puerto Rico deemed the sprain mild, but we'll be awaiting official confirmation from Portland's side. Harkless will be competing for minutes with Mike Miller and Al-Farouq Aminu this season, but if he's able to earn himself a role in the rotation, he could be worth owning in deep leagues as a steals specialist.

Otto Porter stated during a recent interview that he'd "definitely" be comfortable being used as a stretch-four for the Wizards this upcoming season.

Porter had a bit of a coming out party during last year's playoff run with Washington, compiling averages of 10.0 points, 8.0 rebounds, 1.2 steals and 1.2 three-pointers per game on 44.3 percent shooting from the field. He'll be looking at a much larger role with the Wizards next season with Paul Pierce now in Los Angeles, so he could potentially take a big leap during his third NBA season. Porter is certainly on the radar, and he could make for a sneaky late-round selection on draft day.

Heat assistant coach Dan Craig hinted during a recent interview that Hassan Whiteside will likely see his minutes in the 20-25 range a lot during the 2015-16 season.

"You might see his minutes jump up when we're playing Andre Drummond or DeAndre Jordan," said Craig. "But if we're playing a team that likes to play small ball, you'll probably see his minutes around 20 or 25." With a lot of the league gearing towards a small ball movement, there will likely be a lot of games next season where Whiteside doesn't eclipse the 30-minute mark. However, in just 23.8 minutes per game last season, Whiteside was still able to compile averages of 11.8 points, 10.0 rebounds and 2.6 blocks per game, so he'll still make for a decent mid-round selection on draft day.

Joel Embiid did not re-break the navicular bone in his right foot, according to GM Sam Hinkie.

The initial reports out of Philadelphia were that Embiid had experienced "less healing than anticipated," but a later report indicated that Embiid had indeed re-broken his navicular bone. According to Hinkie, who describes himself as a "nightmare in the doctor's office" due to the amount of questions he asks, the doctors told him Embiid would have been in "a shocking amount of pain" if he did re-break the bone in his foot, which was not the case. Either way, Embiid is expected to miss the entire 2015-16 season, so there's no reason to draft him in any league.
