Derrick Rose (knee) is traveling with the Bulls, but beat writer K.C. Johnson still doesn't expect him to play until sometime around the Feb. 17 All-Star game.

Traveling with the team on road trips is a planned part of Rose's rehab. It allows him to get non-contact work in at practices and stay close to his trainers. It's a sign that his recovery is on track, but we wouldn't consider this any kind of milestone. Owners stashing Rose won't be able to really get excited until he participates in a full practice and emerges without any complications in his surgically-repaired knee. "He has to go through regular practice for an extended amount of time before we even think about him playing," coach Tom Thibodeau said.

Kemba Walker underwent successful surgery on his knee Wednesday and he is expected to be out a minimum of six weeks.

There's a chance he could be out even longer than that, and his owners may be forced to evaluate other options with fantasy playoffs looming. Brian Roberts will take over as the starting point guard in Charlotte and should be picked up in most leagues, while Gary Neal and Lance Stephenson should handle the ball more as well.

C.J. Miles (groin) is questionable for Wednesday's game vs. the Knicks.

He got a chance to rest on Tuesday against the Raptors but his status likely won't be determined until closer to tip-off. If Miles is forced to sit again, expect Rodney Stuckey to be the primary beneficiary, with C.J. Watson and Damjan Rudez picking up some additional minutes as well.
Jan 28 - 1:47 PM

JaVale McGee (leg) will return either Wednesday night vs. the Pelicans, or thursday night vs. the Grizzlies.

Considering that he has missed 23 straight games, the Nuggets will likely bring him along very slowly so there is no need to consider adding him in most leagues. Owners in deep leagues should use a wait-and-see approach here unless they are desperate for blocks.
Jan 28 - 1:39 PM

Evan Turner (thumb) said that his thumb has improved and that he will play vs. Minnesota.

X-rays taken on his thumb were negative so this news confirms that the coast is clear for Turner. He has been solid since being named the starting point guard in Boston, and while he is much better in points formats, he's still worth owing in most leagues.
Jan 28 - 1:33 PM

Jose Calderon (knee) is listed as out for Wednesday's game vs. the Thunder.

He suffered a knee contusion last Friday and it looks like he could spend some additional time on the sidelines, but we will consider him day-to-day for now. Langston Galloway has started at point guard in Calderon's absence and just recently signed a new deal with the Knicks, so if you are in need of a guard he definitely deserves a long look.

Carmelo Anthony (rest) is listed as questionable for Wednesday's game against the Thunder.

Anthony was expected to play on Monday against the Kings before the game was cancelled, so one would think that with the added rest he should be able to play in this one. However, there still hasn't been an update on his status as of yet so his owners will have to check back for updates before activating him in lineups. If Melo were to sit out, Lance Thomas and Tim Hardaway Jr. would be the biggest beneficiaries. Stay tuned.

Mo Williams (personal) will not play on Wednesday against the Celtics, but will join up with the team on Thursday.

He has also been battling a hip injury, so Williams probably wouldn't have been able to play anyways. With Ricky Rubio (ankle) still sidelined, rookie Zach LaVine will likely step into the starting lineup while newly acquired Lorenzo Brown could see some action as well. However, neither LaVine or Brown are reliable enough to use outside of deeper leagues, so feel free to leave them on the wire.

The Spurs have officially signed Reggie Williams to a 10-day contract on Wednesday.

Williams will provide the Spurs with another 3-point threat in the absence of Marco Belinelli (groin), but his role likely won't be large enough to warrant attention in most leagues. You can safely leave Williams on the wire for now.

Minnesota has signed guard Lorenzo Brown to a 10-day contract on Wednesday, and he is expected to be available to play against the Celtics.

The uncertainty surrounding Ricky Rubio's (ankle) return and the latest injury to Mo Williams (hip) may have forced their hand, so Brown may end up seeing some action right out of the gate. There's no need to consider an add outside of ridiculously deep leagues just yet, but we will let you know if he pops up on the fantasy radar.
Jan 28 - 12:43 PM

Ricky Rubio (ankle) is listed as out for Wednesday's game vs. the Celtics as expected.

There is simply no telling when we will see Rubio back in action, and all his owners can do is simply wait until we get a positive report. Mo Williams is questionable on Wednesday with a hip injury, meaning rookie Zach LaVine could see big minutes against the Celtics. Stay tuned.

The Utah Jazz have signed Chris Johnson to a 10-day contract on Wednesday.

The Jazz decided against signing Elliot Williams to a new deal, meaning johnson will now have a chance to stake his claim for a spot in Utah's rotation. While Johnson will be available to play on Wednesday, owners in deeper leagues would be advised to use a wait-and-see approach here.
