Marcus Thornton (sprained left ankle) is still wearing a walking boot and won't play Wednesday.

The Kings' broadcast team said Tuesday that Thornton could miss the rest of the week. The Kings conclude their road trip with a back-to-back set Friday and Saturday and it's possible the team may hold him out until they return home. We still suggest holding onto him if you can, but owners in daily leagues might not have a choice.

Regarding the Kyrie Irving trade demands, the Cavs were given four preferred landing spots: New York, Miami, San Antonio and Minnesota.

And this is the NBA offseason. It sounds like Irving is legitimate in his demands and not wanting to live under LeBron James' shadow. This is basically the third day of the "offseason" in the NBA, but it looks like chaos is in store for the Cavs this offseason -- maybe they should've brought their GM back. Expect a ton of Kyrie Irving rumors this summer.

Pau Gasol has agreed on a three-year deal to return to the Spurs.

There is only a partial guarantee on the third year of this deal for the Spaniard. It's a nice deal for the 37-year-old big man, and he should be in a similar role. There was some talk of the Spurs going smaller with Rudy Gay (Achilles) now in the mix, but now they'll have to work in LaMarcus Aldridge and Gasol to their frontcourt rotation.

Kyrie Irving asked the Cavs to trade him in a meeting last week, according to ESPN's Brian Windhorst.

Oh boy. "Irving has expressed that he wants to go play in a situation where he can be a more focal point and no longer wants to play alongside LeBron James," the report says. This comes off the heels of Irving saying things are "very peculiar" in Cleveland at an SI event earlier this week. The Cavs may be having the worst offseason possible and this can't be a good look to keep LeBron James next season. There's really no way to spin this positively for the Cavs.

Derrick Rose and the Lakers had a meeting for about three hours on Thursday, according to Chris Haynes of ESPN.com.

The report adds that both sides feel good about it -- #WentWell, of course. Rose is expected to have more meetings this weekend with the Cavs as the toughest competition. There's a good chance Rose can play some shooting guard for both of these teams, but the Lakers will likely be offering more of a scoring opportunity.
Jul 20 - 7:49 PM

The Lakers will meet with free agent PG Derrick Rose on Thursday.

The Cavaliers have reportedly offered Rose a one-year deal worth anywhere from $2.1 to $2.5 million, while the Lakers can offer a $4.3M exception. It's no secret that they want to bring in a veteran to mentor Lonzo Ball, and ESPN's Ramona Shelburne said the Lakers believe "they can offer more playing time in a better environment after his tumultuous year in New York." While no deal is imminent, it seems like the Cavaliers and the Lakers are the frontrunners to sign Rose, while the Bucks are fading from view.
Jul 20 - 1:49 PM

Troy Williams has agreed to a 3-year deal to stay with the Houston Rockets.

The first year of the deal is fully guaranteed, but he will have to earn the second and third seasons. Williams played well in stints with the Rockets and Grizzlies last season, but he really made an impression in Vegas during the Summer League with averages of 22.0 points, 3.2 rebounds, 1.6 assists, 2.2 steals and 2.4 treys. The 22-year-old wing looks like he's ready to contribute next season, so he'll be in the mix to fill the void left by Sam Dekker.
Jul 20 - 1:13 PM

Derrick Rose is in "serious talks" with the Cavaliers on a one-year deal according to ESPN.

Rose is the top free agent PG left on the market, but he's drawn very little interest so far. The Bucks were considered a potential suitor last week, but the two sides weren't able to schedule a meeting for reasons unknown. Rose would be an odd fit in Cleveland because they already have Kyrie Irving, but it's at least worth noting that Irving excels off the ball. In order to join the Cavs, Rose would have to take a discount because they can only offer a portion of the taxpayer midlevel exception (up to $2.5 million) or a veteran's minimum deal according to Jeff Zilgitt of USA Today.

The Wolves are working on a five-year extension for Andrew Wiggins according to head coach and president of basketball operations Tom Thibodeau.

The extension would be worth nearly $148 million, but it wouldn't kick in until 2018-19. Wiggins has already established himself as an elite scorer with a career-high 23.2 points per game last season, but Thibodeau said he wants to see him become a "complete player" and believes Jimmy Butler will help with his development. Wiggins was only a 10th-round value in standard leagues last season due to a lack of peripheral stats, but he's still only 22 and is just scratching the surface of his potential.

Damian Lillard said he's reached out to Carmelo Anthony and said it's a "real possibility" that Anthony could join the Blazers.

The Blazers reportedly have made it clear they won't be involved in a Melo trade unless they're the ones getting the All-Star forward. Lillard isn't usually the recruiting type, but C.J. McCollum has touched on this subject and even posted a photoshopped picture of Anthony in a Blazers uniform. Anthony does have a no-trade clause and several reports say he wants to go to Houston, so the Rockets should be considered as the frontrunners.
Jul 19 - 5:24 PM

Blake Griffin (toe surgery) said he's met with five foot specialists this summer and they believe that being fully cleared for training camp is a "realistic possibility."

Griffin added that he's hoping to get back on the floor for non-contact work in the next few weeks, so he appears to be trending in a very positive direction following his May 1 surgery. There was a report in late-June speculating that Griffin might not be ready for the start of the season and that he could be out until December, but Ramona Shelburne of ESPN refuted that story, and it seems that the five foot specialists that met with Griffin are in agreement with Ramona's sources.
Jul 19 - 1:41 PM

Mario Chalmers will sign a one-year deal with Memphis according to Adrian Wojnarowski of ESPN.

The deal is only partially guaranteed for one year, so he's still not a lock to make the 15-man roster. Chalmers hasn't played in the NBA since tearing his Achilles back in March of 2016, but he's healthy again and it's nice to see him get another shot. He will battle Wade Baldwin for the backup PG role, so he won't have much fantasy value in Memphis.
