Pacers sign F Dominic McGuire to a 10-day contract.

McGuire was mentioned as a potential candidate for the Pacers following the release of Sam Young, so it is not a big surprise to see him signed quickly.

Jeff Teague returned to action on Tuesday with 25 points on 7-of-12 field goals and 9-of-11 free throws, helping the Hawks to a comeback win vs. the visiting Rockets.

He rested as a precaution on Saturday and Mike Budenholzer has torn a page out of Gregg Popovich's playbook by occasionally resting his starters en masse. The game off seems to have done Teague some good, as he scored 20 points for the first time in eight games and made multiple 3-pointers for the second time in a month.

Jordan Clarkson had 19 points, one 3-pointer, four assists and one steal in Tuesday's road loss in Charlotte, making 9-of-19 shots including a critical driving layup with nine seconds remaining.

The Lakers want Clarkson to play in Summer League but he's rapidly developing into a reliable NBA point guard. "I'm still real excited about Jordan Clarkson," Byron Scott said in late February. "I keep getting excited about that kid because his growth is getting better and better." Fantasy owners can say the same thing, and he deserves to be owned in standard leagues with averages of 14.0 points, 0.9 threes, 3.2 rebounds, 3.8 assists and 1.0 steals in 16 starts this season.

Derrick Favors scored 21 points with six boards, three assists, two steals and three blocks in 36 minutes against the Grizzlies on Tuesday.

He shot 8-of-14 from the field and made 5-of-6 attempts from the charity stripe to add to his impressive performance. Favors has averaged 18.0 points, 9.4 boards, 1.2 assists, 2.0 steals and 2.2 blocks over his last five games, and with no competition for playing time, there is no reason why he shouldn't be able to keep it going.
Mar 3 - 10:27 PM

Jeremy Lin sank a late 3-pointer in Charlotte on Tuesday, finishing the Lakers' one-point loss with 23 points, six rebounds, eight assists, two steals and one block in 30 minutes.

Lin made 9-of-16 shots overall and he's been gaining steam with increased minutes and offensive responsibilities since the All-Star break. Despite averaging under 28 minutes in his previous five games, Lin was already helping fantasy owners with 17.0 points on 50.0 percent FGs and 75.0 percent FTs, as well as 2.8 boards, 5.0 assists and 1.2 steals. Tonight's eruption clinches the deal and he shouldn't be floating on your waiver wire.
Mar 3 - 10:27 PM

Lance Stephenson didn't leave the Hornets bench in the second half on Tuesday, finishing with five points, three rebounds and two assists in just 10 minutes.

Born Ready has solid per-36-minute averages for rebounds (6.5) and assists (5.9), but that's where the good news ends. He has a morbid True Shooting of 40.3 percent and coach Steve Clifford opted to deploy Jeff Taylor ahead of him in the second half. Clifford explained the benching afterward by saying, "From here on out it's got to be sub-to-win." That line sums up Stephenson's lack of value for both the Hornets and fantasy owners.
Mar 3 - 10:23 PM

Al Jefferson racked up 21 points, 16 rebounds, three steals and one block vs. the Lakers on Tuesday.

Big Al leads all NBA players in total post-ups, which account for 58.6 percent of his offensive possessions. He predictably lived in the paint vs. the Lakers' frontcourt of Robert Sacre, Carlos Boozer and Ryan Kelly, but shot only 9-of-19 from the field and 3-of-7 from the line. The Hornets are essentially tied with the Nets for the final playoff spot in the East, raising the stakes for Wednesday's game in Brooklyn.

Rudy Gobert grabbed a career-high 24 rebounds in a win over the Grizzlies on Tuesday, adding 15 points and one assist in 36 minutes.

Though he failed to block a shot for the first time since Jan. 24, he was a huge factor in the paint and played remarkable defense on Marc Gasol down the stretch. Gobert has now logged a double-double in three of his last four games and it's clear that he is going to be an absolute stud for the rest of the way. For what it's worth, the Jazz are 5-1 since inserting Gobert into the starting lineup after the All-Star Break. Thank you Enes Kanter.

The Knicks were destroyed by the Kings on Tuesday, 86-124, with only Alexey Shved leading the team in scoring with 15 points on 4-of-11 FGs and 7-of-9 FTs.

Shved added seven boards, three dimes and a steal, and he was one of only three Knicks to score double-digit points, joining fellow reserves Shane Larkin (13 points) and Jason Smith (13 points). Shved's 33 minutes were also a team-high and he's now averaging 13.0 points, 0.8 threes, 4.8 rebounds, 3.3 assists and 1.0 steals over the past four games. That's enough to warrant attention in deeper formats while Jose Calderon (Achilles) is out, but most owners should take a skeptical view of Shved -- he's shooting 38.7 percent this season and this was the first time he's cracked the 30-minute barrier.
Mar 3 - 10:02 PM

Derrick Williams came off the bench for 17 points on 7-of-12 shooting on Tuesday, making three 3-pointers with three boards, two assists and one steal in 28 minutes.

Knicks' opponents are shooting a league-best 38.6 percent from downtown and it showed on Tuesday, as the Kings made a combined 10-of-18 triples in the easy road win. George Karl is still figuring out how to get "more consistent value" from Williams, but he also referred to him as "one of our more skilled players." Standard-league owners should keep a close eye on D-Will in case his role continues to grow during the Kings' final 24 games.
Mar 3 - 9:52 PM

DeMarcus Cousins (ankle) returned from his two-game absence vs. the Knicks, scoring 22 points (5-of-10 FGs, 11-of-11 FTs) with one 3-pointer, 10 rebounds, three assists, two steals and two blocks.

Cousins has fared well under coach George Karl even though Karl's offense typically shuns post-ups. As noted by Brett Kormenos, "Karl's last team in Denver actually ran fewer post-ups per game as a team (5.6) than Cousins has this year as an individual." He did his damage in under 30 minutes during tonight's blowout win, and fantasy owners can look forward to elite value in the season's final six weeks.
Mar 3 - 9:51 PM

LeBron James racked up 27 points, three rebounds, five assists, three steals and one block before taking a seat after 26 minutes of action on Tuesday.

He made 12-of-23 shots and only turned the ball over once, a rare treat from the player who ranks second in the NBA with 4.3 turnovers per game (trailing only DeMarcus Cousins). LeBron spent the past few days criticizing himself for missing eight free throws in Sunday's tough overtime loss, but it didn't take him long to put that defeat in the rearview mirror. He also passed Ray Allen on the all-time scoring list with this performance, giving him 24,507 points in his phenomenal 12-year career.
