Rajon Rondo has been suspended for Monday's game for "making contact with an official and failure to cooperate with a league investigation."

The lack of cooperation part is a bit mystifying, but Rondo will miss one game for slightly bumping a ref in Saturday's game (in which he posted a triple-double). The Celtics play just three games this week, which knocks Rondo down to two games and forces owners to weigh their options closely for weekly lineups. Jason Terry gets a short-term boost in his absence.

Tyreke Evans (knee) has been shut down until the All-Star break.

The move makes sense for the Pelicans because there's no need to risk Evans' health in what is quickly becoming a lost season. His owners should stash him in an IR spot, but it's still possible that he could be shut down during the final weeks of the season if the Pelicans are not in the playoff hunt. In the meantime, Bryce Dejean-Jones will continue to start and is worth a look in deeper leagues. Jrue Holiday will benefit as well.
Feb 6 - 6:15 PM

Dante Cunningham will start on Saturday vs. the Cavaliers, sending Alonzo Gee to the bench.

The Pelicans have lost three straight games, so coach Alvin Gentry is looking to shake things up. Cunningham isn't very involved in the offense and has very little upside, so he's safe to ignore in most leagues. Gee can be dropped almost everywhere.
Feb 6 - 6:13 PM

Jimmy Butler (left knee) was diagnosed with a knee strain and did not suffer damage to his ligaments.

This is fantastic news. The diagnosis of a strain means it's something muscle related or it could be something with a tendon near his joint. Butler doesn't have a timetable to return, but it looks like he at least has a chance to be back this month. This may hurt his chance to play in the All-Star Game. Mike Dunleavy (back) should benefit while E'Twaun Moore and Tony Snell could help out. Derrick Rose will be very busy, too.
Feb 6 - 6:10 PM

Nene (calf) will not play against the Hornets on Saturday night.

He tried warming up but calf was still too painful. The Wizards are probably going to want to shut him down if he can't make it through a warmup. Drew Gooden and Dejuan Blair figure to get a handful of minutes.
Feb 6 - 6:06 PM

Timofey Mozgov will start for Kevin Love (quad) on Saturday against the Pelicans.

That will bump Tristan Thompson over to power forward. Thompson has a tiny 6.1 usage rate when Love is off the court while LeBron James and Kyrie Irving are on, but it shouldn't matter for his output tonight thanks to a lot of boards and minutes. Mozgov isn't a great DFS play with the Cavs likely set to go small more often than usual.
Feb 6 - 6:02 PM

Ish Smith (ankle) will not play against the Nets on Saturday.

Smith tweaked his ankle in the last 90 seconds of a blowout on Friday, so the 76ers will keep him out in a very important game to lose for tanking purposes. Expect Smith to be ready to go next week. Besides McConnell, there could be some Kendall Marshall at the point tonight.
Feb 6 - 5:56 PM

Matt Dellavedova (hamstring) will not play against the Pelicans on Saturday.

His hamstring issue has been a problem for two weeks and the Cavs may rest him until the break. Mo Williams will be in the rotation again while this news also helps Iman Shumpert because of no Kevin Love.
Feb 6 - 5:55 PM

Kevin Love (quad) will not play on Saturday against the Pelicans.

It's a quad contusion from Friday night, which he was unable to return from in the loss. With Love out, the Cavs will likely be giving more minutes to Tristan Thompson and Timofey Mozgov. Interestingly, Kyrie Irving's usage rate is 31.6 without Love and with LeBron James, so he has a nice chance tonight.
Feb 6 - 5:51 PM

Nene (calf) is a game-time decision to face the Hornets on Saturday.

His calf issue just won't go away and chances are he will sit. If he does, that means more minutes for Drew Gooden and Dejuan Blair. Nene isn't worth owning.
Feb 6 - 5:35 PM

Ian Mahinmi (back) will start on Saturday against the Pistons without a minutes restriction.

That will bump Jordan Hill back to the bench and make him someone most owners should cut. The Pacers have only used Paul George at the four next to Myles Turner for just four minutes since Turner has been starting, so that might change tonight. Mahinmi is only a low-end asset.
Feb 6 - 5:22 PM

Rudy Gay (ankle) is doubtful to play against the Celtics on Sunday.

He rolled his ankle on Friday and did not return. The Kings will desperately need Gay to help save Karl's job, but that might not happen. If Gay doesn't play, Omri Casspi should get the start and get a chance to rebound from a rough stretch. Darren Collison and Marco Belinelli should also benefit.
