C.J. Miles (back) is a game-time decision on Wednesday.

A previous report indicated that he was expected to play, but Miles' availability will be determined before tipoff. If he's unable to suit up, Dion Waiters would likely start with Alonzo Gee also seeing an increased role.

Isaiah Thomas (personal) is planning to play in Game 2 on Tuesday and in Game 3 on Friday.

If this plan holds up, he won't miss any action in Boston's series vs. the Bulls. Thomas will fly to Tacoma to attend his sister's funeral after Game 2, but will be back in time for Game 3. Thomas is coming off a courageous performance on Sunday, scoring 33 points with six assists, five rebounds, three 3-pointers and one steal in 38 minutes.

James Harden finished Sunday's blowout Game 1 victory with a game-high 37 points on 13-of-28 FGs and 8-of-11 FTs, nine assists, seven rebounds, three steals, and just two turnovers in 34 minutes.

Harden went 3-of-11 from downtown, but as usual he was unstoppable when attacking the rim -- his first eight makes all came in the restricted area. He also torched the Thunder in isolation sets because they insisted on switching big men in screen-and-rolls, which left Enes Kanter, Steven Adams and Taj Gibson defending him on the perimeter. Harden has been impervious to most defensive schemes this season, but OKC will likely tweak their approach for Wednesday's rematch -- just watch the video linked below.
Apr 17 - 12:34 AM

Patrick Beverley made 8-of-13 shots with four 3-pointers on Sunday, scoring a playoff career-high 21 points with 10 rebounds, three assists and two steals in a mere 26 minutes during a Game 1 victory vs. OKC.

Beverley was leveled on a screen by Steven Adams and he later complained of a sore back once the score was in hand, but he finished the game on Houston's bench so we're leaving him off the injury report. He's earned his reputation as a defensive irritant, but he obviously brings more to the table than getting under Russell Westbrook's skin. Bev finished the regular season averaging 9.5 points and 1.6 triples, with career-highs in rebounds (5.9), assists (4.2) and steals (1.5). Given the pace of this series, he's likely to have a few more formidable stat lines.
Apr 17 - 12:30 AM

Victor Oladipo made 1-of-12 field goals for six points (0-of-6 from deep) with four rebounds, three assists, two blocks and one steal during Sunday's series-opening loss to the Rockets.

The effort was there for Oladipo but he obviously wasn't in a comfort-zone offensively, which is something that must happen to take pressure off Russell Westbrook as the overclocked engine of the offense. He gets two days off and should fare much better on Wednesday.
Apr 17 - 12:19 AM

Russell Westbrook struggled during his team's Game 1 loss on Sunday, scoring 22 points on 6-of-23 shooting with 11 rebounds, seven assists, two steals, three 3-pointers and nine turnovers.

Westbrook is obviously a stat-magnet but most of his turnovers were unforced momentum killers. He'll need to rein it in for OKC to compete with the Rockets' firepower in a seven-game series -- he'll also need more help from his teammates, who combined for 65 points on 41.3 percent shooting. Tonight's loss and the matchup vs. Pat Beverley should give Westbrook some added fuel for Game 2, not that the MVP candidate needs an excuse to play full-throttle on every possession.
Apr 17 - 12:17 AM

Andre Roberson returned on Sunday with a playoff career-high 18 points, making 7-of-10 shots with 4-of-6 threes, seven rebounds, three blocks and two steals in 35 minutes.

Roberson battled a knee injury toward the end of the season, although his final two DNPs were dubbed 'rest'. His ability to knock down open 3-pointers is a bonus for OKC, but his real test will come as the primary defender against James Harden. Barring a setback, Roberson is good to go for the rest of the series.
Apr 17 - 12:05 AM

Al Horford had a strong all-around game vs. Chicago on Sunday with 19 points, eight assists, seven rebounds and one 3-pointer, making 8-of-13 shots in 40 minutes.

Horford scored Boston's final nine straight points to finish the first half, helping them stay within two points despite committing a ton of turnovers while giving up 16 offensive rebounds in the half. Horford played 40 minutes in a game just once during the regular season, but it looks like he's going to be extremely busy in the postseason.
Apr 16 - 9:46 PM

Isaiah Thomas (personal) made 10-of-18 FGs and 10-of-12 FTs for 33 points on Sunday, adding six assists, five rebounds, three 3-pointers and one steal in 38 minutes.

Thomas was playing one day after his sister Chyna died in a car accident. It's an unfathomable loss but once the ball went up he was his usual dynamic self, and his late layup brought the Celtics within two points before ultimately falling 106-102. It's possible that Thomas will wind up missing games as he deals with this tragedy. When asked about Thomas' status for Tuesday, coach Brad Stevens replied, "It’s his call, and it should be."
Apr 16 - 9:44 PM

Robin Lopez came out firing on Sunday, finishing Game 1 with 14 points on 6-of-10 shooting, while grabbing 11 rebounds (eight offensive) in 34 minutes.

Lopez's highest-scoring month this season was February, when he averaged 12.6 points per game, and he predictably cooled off after a 12-point first quarter tonight. He snagged five offensive boards in the first quarter alone, and the Bulls piled up a ridiculous 16 OREBs in the first half. The Celtics will assuredly gameplan ways to keep RoLo off the glass as the series continues.
Apr 16 - 9:42 PM

Bobby Portis gave the Bulls a huge lift in 29 bench minutes on Sunday, scoring 19 points with nine rebounds, three assists, three 3-pointers and two blocks.

Quite simply, Portis played the game of his career. He did his damage on jumpers, many of the wide-open variety, finishing 8-of-10 from the field to give Chicago a substantial edge in bench scoring. He also blocked a critical shot down the stretch, and outplayed starting PF Nikola Mirotic in every facet of the game. We expect Mirotic to start Game 2, but don't be surprised if Portis again ends up with more minutes.
Apr 16 - 9:40 PM

Jimmy Butler got going late to score 30 points on Sunday, making 9-of-19 FGs and 9-of-12 FTs with three 3-pointers, nine boards, three assists, one steal and one block.

Butler settled a lot offensively in the early goings, but a scoring flurry to end the third quarter sent him into All-Star mode. He also set the tone defensively in the final frame, shutting down the Celtics on enough possessions to help the No. 8 seed steal an impressive road win vs. the No. 1 seed. Expect to see plenty of the aggressive and assertive version of Butler during Game 2 on Tuesday.
