Kirk Hinrich (elbow) did not go through shootaround and is doubtful to play on Wednesday against the Bucks.

Hinrich didn't practice on Tuesday, either, and given how many injuries he's dealt with this season, his owners shouldn't view it as a surprise if he's forced out. If he sits, Nate Robinson is likely to start in his place. Robinson is averaging 9.0 points, 5.8 assists, 1.0 3-pointers and 1.5 steals over four starts this season.

Seth Curry, J.J. Barea, Harrison Barnes, Quincy Acy and Dwight Powell will start against the Pelicans on Saturday.

The Mavs have talked up Curry as a point guard, so he will get his chance. We'll also see how the Mavs draw up plays for Harry B in this game. We'll let you know how both late-round fantasy options look. Barnes has the higher upside.
Oct 1 - 7:27 PM

Kyle Lowry, DeMar DeRozan, DeMarre Carroll, Jared Sullinger and Jonas Valencianas will start on Saturday.

This is expected to be the opening-night starting lineup. Carroll is expected to play without limitations, but don't expect much tonight. We'll keep an eye on if he gets decent minutes at the four.
Oct 1 - 7:06 PM

Stephen Curry, Klay Thompson, Kevin Durant, Draymond Green and Zaza Pachulia will start on Saturday against the Raptors.

Here. We. Go. Coach Steve Kerr said the starters aren't going to play "a whole lot" for their first game, but we'll get an idea what this ridiculous offense looks like.
Oct 1 - 7:03 PM

Coach Steve Kerr said he won't use his starters "a whole lot" against the Raptors on Saturday.

He did say they were all going to play, so we should see a bunch of staples in the GSW rotation tonight. For now, it looks like we'll get a heavy dose of Ian Clark, Patrick McCaw, James Michael McAdoo and Kevon Looney.
Oct 1 - 6:13 PM

John Wall (knee surgeries) isn't sure if he will play in Tuesday's preseason opener.

"Monday, I'll hopefully go through practice agan and see what happens if I can play Tuesday," Wall said. "If not, I'm in no rush. I'm just preparing myself to be ready on the 27th if I can. If I can get an opportunity to play 5-on-5 in practice and scrimmage against the guys that would be great. It's all in the doctor's and trainer's hands." He hasn't been cleared for contact yet, but we should have a firm update on Monday regarding his timetable.
Oct 1 - 3:22 PM

Ben Simmons (foot) will undergo surgery next week according to Marc Stein of ESPN.

Stein added that Philly doctors believe it was an "acute injury," meaning they don't think it was related to his increased weight. At this point, all we know for sure is that Simmons suffered a fractured fifth metatarsal in his right foot, but the 76ers may not have a timetable for his return until after the procedure. In the meantime, Dario Saric is a must-own player in standard leagues and Robert Covington should benefit as well.

Kemba Walker (knee surgery) was cleared for full contact on Saturday and participated in his first practice.

This is excellent news and it also means that we might see Walker play some minutes in the preseason. His recovery from knee surgery took a lot longer than expected and he might be eased back into action early on, so drafting Walker is a little riskier than usual. If healthy, he will have an excellent chance to build off his breakout 2015-16 season in which he averaged 20.9 points, 5.2 assists, 1.6 steals and 2.2 triples per game on 42.6 percent shooting.
Oct 1 - 1:16 PM

Bradley Beal (concussion) went through a full practice on Saturday and even played in the 5-on-5 scrimmage.

To make things even better, Beal reportedly "shot the leather off the ball." It sounds the concussion is behind him and Beal should be able to participate in the preseason games. The durability concerns are real, but he's still going to cost a mid-round pick based on his upside. Beal averaged 17.4 points, 3.4 rebounds, 2.9 assists, 1.9 triples and 1.0 steals on 44.9 percent shooting last season.
Oct 1 - 1:07 PM

Goran Dragic said he sat out of Saturday's practice because he has jumper's knee.

It's a common basketball injury, but the Heat are probably just being cautious with the veteran PG. There's no reason to be concerned unless this injury lingers throughout the preseason. Dragic is a strong bounce-back candidate that should see a nice bump in the scoring column with Dwyane Wade and Chris Bosh (blood clots) no longer around.
Oct 1 - 12:37 PM

Dirk Nowitzki, Andrew Bogut, Deron Williams, Wesley Matthews and Devin Harris will not play in Saturday's preseason opener.

They aren't even traveling with the team, but there are no injuries to report. Coach Rick Carlisle is simply giving them a recovery day, so the younger guys should get plenty of minutes on Saturday.

Joel Embiid is expected to start the preseason opener on Tuesday vs. the Celtics.

Coach Brett Brown was planning on starting Jerryd Bayless, Gerald Henderson, Robert Covington, Ben Simmons (foot) and Embiid, but it's likely that Dario Saric replaces the injured Simmons. It's unclear how many minutes Embiid will see on Tuesday, but his fantasy arrow is clearly pointing up with this report. The outlooks of Jahlil Okafor and Nerlens Noel aren't looking so great at the moment.
