Anderson Varejao had surgery on Thursday to repair a small split in his right quad.

Varejao's timetable remains 6-8 weeks, during which time the Cavs will rely on Tristan Thompson and rookie Tyler Zeller for frontcourt production. Fantasy owners cruising into the playoffs might be able to keep him until March, but in most situations he belongs on the waiver wire.

Andrew Harrison (left shoulder) and Mario Chalmers (right shoulder) will play vs. the 76ers on Monday.

Jan 22 - 7:31 PM

John Wall (migraine) is now a game-time call vs. the Mavericks on Monday.

Wall missed the morning shootaround, but it didn't sound like his status was in doubt. Maybe coach Scott Brooks just wants him to go through warmups first, but DFS owners will have to be careful here. If wall can't go, Tim Frazier and Tomas Satoransky will benefit, while Bradley Beal will see a bump in usage.
Jan 22 - 7:04 PM

Devin Harris (concussion) has been ruled out for Monday's game against the Wizards.

Harris is officially under the league-mandated concussion protocol testing, and he will not be allowed to play until he clears that. With him out tonight, his minutes will be divvied up between Dennis Smith Jr., Yogi Ferrell and J.J. Barea. Harris belongs on the waiver wire in all leagues.
Jan 22 - 7:00 PM

Pau Gasol (wrist) and Manu Ginobili (thigh) have been ruled out for Tuesday's game against the Cavs.

Gasol's wrist has been bothering him over the past few games, so he'll miss the first game of San Antonio's back-to-back set, and we'll consider him questionable for Wednesday's game in Memphis. With Gasol unavailable, it'll likely be either Davis Bertans or Joffrey Lauvergne entering the starting lineup with LaMarcus Aldridge being forced into heavy minutes. Ginobili's absence will translate to more run for Brandon Paul and Bryn Forbes.
Jan 22 - 6:46 PM

Vince Carter will be in the starting lineup for Monday's game against the Hornets, sending Justin Jackson back to the bench.

In Carter's previous start this season, he posted four points, two assists, one rebound, one steal, three blocks and one turnover in 25 minutes, but we wouldn't expect him to replicate the production in the defensive categories tonight. Jackson's minutes will take a hit with the demotion to the second unit, so he can't be trusted in fantasy hoops.
Jan 22 - 6:32 PM

Trevor Ariza will return to the starting lineup for Monday's matchup with Miami.

Ariza has served his two-game suspension and with him back in the starting five, Luc Mbah a Moute figures to head back to the second unit where he'll battle for the reserve minutes with P.J. Tucker. Feel free to get Ariza active for a favorable matchup with the Heat.
Jan 22 - 6:26 PM

Greg Monroe will replace Tyson Chandler in the starting unit for Monday's matchup with Milwaukee.

Revenge game!? Jay Triano said he's making the move because Monroe has "been a good soldier" while collecting DNP-CDs, and he wants to reward him with a start against his former team. He also said that Chandler has been a bit "fatigued," so it wouldn't be surprising to see Tyson rested on Monday. Monroe has played well when given the minutes, so he'll make for an enticing DFS target tonight under the revenge game narrative.
Jan 22 - 6:05 PM

Michael Kidd-Gilchrist (right axillary abscess) has been ruled out for Monday's matchup with the Kings and Treveon Graham will start in his place.

MKG was originally being listed as probable with a foot sprain, but the axillary (armpit) issue is new, and it's currently unclear if he'll be able to get back out there for Wednesday's game against the Pelicans. While Graham figures to see some extended run as a starter, Jeremy Lamb still makes for the better target as he could be looking at minutes in the 30s tonight. Head coach Steve Clifford also hinted that Malik Monk could see some more floor time tonight, but it's tough to see him earning playing time in the 20s with the rest of the wings in Charlotte healthy.
Jan 22 - 5:27 PM

The Bucks have fired head coach Jason Kidd, according to sources of Adrian Wojnarowski of ESPN.

Bucks assistant coach Joe Prunty will fill in as the interim head coach while Milwaukee looks for Kidd's long-term replacement, and it'll be interesting to see if he alters the rotations. Milwaukee management reportedly decided to make the move after the Bucks fell to the No. 8 seed out East, and there had been discontent brewing between both parties for a couple years now. Kidd's constantly changing rotations were a nightmare, so perhaps his departure will bring some stability.
Jan 22 - 4:03 PM

Jerryd Bayless (sore left wrist) has been ruled out for Monday's game in Memphis.

This will be Bayless' second straight game on the sidelines, and with both him and J.J. Redick (leg) unavailable, Timothe Luwawu should be looking at another start with T.J. McConnell flirting with minutes in the 30s, and both those guys are on the radar as deep league streamers. After Monday's game the 76ers will take on the Bulls on Wednesday, and for now, we'll consider Bayless questionable for that one.
Jan 22 - 2:22 PM

John Wall (illness) is expected to play vs. the Mavericks on Monday.

Wall missed the morning shootaround, but it sounds like the Wizards were just playing it safe. He's a little risky in DFS, but his season-long owners can deploy him in their lineups. We'll have an update after warmups.
