Pau Gasol (concussion) will not play on Sunday.

Gasol wasn't expected to play and his status is up in the air for Tuesday's game vs. the Bucks, which kicks off the Lakers' three-game week. Earl Clark, who is averaging 12.3 points, 10.7 rebounds, and 3.0 assists in the past three games, will continue to start in his absence.

Russell Westbrook made 10-of-33 from the field for 27 points against the 76ers during a 119-117 triple-overtime win on Friday, adding 18 rebounds, 15 assists, two steals, six turnovers and two 3-pointers in 52 minutes.

In traditional Westbrook fashion, he attempted 15 shots in the overtime frames he was asked about his inefficiency after the game. "I don’t really give a damn about percentages, honestly. All I care about is wins," he said to ESPN's Doris Burke. Joel Embiid also had something to say about Westbrook's high usage. "The dude shot like 10-of-33. I wish I would have shot it 33 times," Embiid said. We all know about the triple-doubles, but Westy has been at just 0.8 points per possession this season (Synergy), and he's only at 70.0 percent at the line. In other words, his fantasy owners should give a damn about his percentages.

Giannis Antetokounmpo posted 29 points with 16 rebounds, four assists and a blocked shot across 40 minutes in Friday's loss against the Bulls.

Antetokounmpo connected on 11-of-18 from the floor while hitting 1-of-3 from behind the stripe. He was rather mediocre 6-of-9 from the free-throw line, if you're looking to complain about something. But it was another very nice night at the office for the Greek Freak and his fantasy owners.
Dec 15 - 11:56 PM

Tyreke Evans (right hip) returned from a one-game absence and led the Grizzlies to a 96-94 win over the Hawks on Friday with a game-high 22 points.

The win snaps a five-game losing streak for Memphis and it's just their second win over their last 18 games. Evans said he's been battling the soreness in his hip for over a week, but he was able to play 30 minutes and looked great while doing it, hitting 9-of-15 shots with three assists, two rebounds, one steal and four triples. The Grizzlies do play again on Saturday vs. the Celtics, so we'll see how his hip responds in the morning.
Dec 15 - 11:52 PM

Joel Embiid got some serious work in during a 119-117 triple-overtime loss to the Thunder on Friday, playing a career-high 49 minutes with 34 points, eight rebounds, six assists, two blocks and seven turnovers.

It was clear he was hurting in this game as he showed discomfort throughout the game, especially late. You can go ahead and assume Embiid is not going to play on Monday to start a back-to-back set, but he did joke about it after the game. "I might need a year of rest. Nah, I’m fine," he said. In other news, he and Russell Westbrook had some fun as Westbrook waved goodbye to Embiid just as the game went final, which was after The Process waved goodbye to Steven Adams following Adams' sixth foul. All told, it's obvious the 76ers aren't planning to limit Embiid when he has a green light with back-to-back career-high games for minutes. Trust it.
Dec 15 - 11:42 PM

Jawun Evans set multiple career-highs in points (15), assists (6), rebounds (6), steals (5) and minutes (40) in Friday's 100-91 loss to the Wizards.

With Austin Rivers (concussion), Milos Teodosic (rest) and Danilo Gallinari (glute) all out for the Clippers, this was the perfect storm for the rookie. He did have a big 22-point effort in the preseason, and he was decent in his previous outing with six points, three assists, three rebounds and two steals in 25 minutes vs. the Magic on Wednesday. If the Clippers don't turn their season around, they will likely find a way to get Evans more involved.
Dec 15 - 11:11 PM

Mike Scott matched his season-high with 22 points on 9-of-10 shooting in Friday's win over the Clippers, adding four rebounds, two steals and two triples.

He apparently likes playing against the Clippers, as had 22 points against them on Dec. 9 as well. Markieff Morris (groin) returned from a one-game absence tonight, but he played 21 minutes compared to 24 for Scott. He's been coming on really strong lately and may have turned this position battle into a timeshare. He has seven 3-pointers combined over his last four games and is trending up for deep-league owners.
Dec 15 - 10:30 PM

Rudy Gobert will undergo an MRI on his left knee on Saturday.

Gobert said that he thinks his knee ligaments are going to be OK, but he added that it's very sore. Adrian Wojnarowski of ESPN is reporting that the early evaluations suggests he has a Grade 1 MCL sprain, so while he'll likely miss some time, hopefully this means he will be day-to-day. Derrick Favors hurt his eye tonight, but he'll benefit quite a bit if Gobert misses time. Ekpe Udoh and Jonas Jerebko would also have increased roles and we should see some smaller lineups as well.
Dec 15 - 10:18 PM

Aaron Gordon (calf) will have an MRI on Saturday.

That's certainly not good news, but an MRI doesn't necessarily mean he'll be out for long. Although, we would consider him doubtful to play against the Pistons on Sunday and hopefully he can play on Wednesday. While Gordon is out, Mario Hezonja has earned his minutes and should be in the 30s, making him a deep-league option. More usage will be going to guys like Jonathon Simmons, as well.
Dec 15 - 10:14 PM

Otto Porter got hit in the hip and is in a lot of pain according to coach Scott Brooks.

Porter left Friday's game vs. the Clippers after just three minutes never to return. He will be re-evaluated on Saturday, and Brook added that he believes Porter is day-to-day. If Porter is unable to go on Sunday vs. the Cavaliers, Kelly Oubre would likely take his place in the lineup. Oubre played 34 minutes in relief of Porter on Friday, scoring eight points with seven rebounds, one assist, one steal, two blocks and one triple.
Dec 15 - 9:49 PM

Derrick Favors (left eye laceration) will not return on Friday night.

He received six stitches and was bleeding badly from his face in the first half. Hopefully, he didn't suffer any corneal damage and hopefully he's just day-to-day, but he's probably not going to play on Saturday. With Rudy Gobert (knee) already out, the Jazz are going to have to lean on Ekpe Udoh a ton tonight and tomorrow. If you want to add Udoh as a blocks specialist in a deep league, it's not a bad idea.
Dec 15 - 9:09 PM

Aaron Gordon suffered a right calf strain in the second half on Friday and will not return.

Gordon looked to have pulled a muscle in transition and he went to the locker room. He had just returned from a concussion issue in this game and he did not have a restriction. If he is going to miss time, that should mean more run for Mario Hezonja, who is worth a speculative look in deep leagues. Gordon looked good early and finished with 13 points, six rebounds, two assists, one steal and two 3-pointers in 24 minutes.
