Pau Gasol (concussion) has been ruled out for Tuesday's game vs. the Bucks.

Gasol remains day-to-day, and he won't be cleared for contact until he passes the league's concussion protocol. Earl Clark has been terrific as the Lakers' starting PF, and has earned spot-starter value in fantasy leagues. Follow the link for a timely look at how the NBA's view on concussions has changed in recent years.

Enes Kanter scored 14 points with seven rebounds, one assist and one block vs. the Lakers on Sunday, before fouling out in 38 minutes.

Kanter made 7-of-15 field goals while going 0-of-3 from downtown and failing to attempt a single free throw. He added zero steals but did block one shot for his first defensive stat of the entire preseason, while allowing Carlos Boozer to explode for 19 points, nine boards and a career-high-tying six steals. The Kanter-as-PF experiment is still in the testing phase.

Carlos Boozer tied his career-high with six steals during Sunday's exhibition loss, adding 19 points, nine rebounds and one block in 28 minutes vs. the Lakers.

Boozer made 6-of-12 FGs and 7-of-7 FTs, taking full advantage of Enes Kanter's defensive limitations. He looks determined to hold off rookie Julius Randle for the starting PF job and shouldn't have much trouble early in the season. Just keep in mind that once the losses mount coach Byron Scott may cede to reality and unleash Randle to Boozer' detriment.

Nemanja Nedovic made the most of a start at PG on Sunday, scoring 16 points on 6-of-10 shooting with one rebound, five assists and two turnovers on the road vs. the Rockets.

Nedovic's offseason toe injury hasn't bothered him this preseason but his fantasy value is nil considering the Warriors' backcourt depth. He's likely to spend the 2014-15 season flitting between the Warriors' bench and the D-League's Santa Cruz Warriors.
Oct 19 - 10:59 PM

Kirk Hinrich caught fire in 32 minutes off Chicago's bench on Sunday, scoring 26 points on 11-of-14 shooting with two 3-pointers.

Captain Kirk added two assists, one steal and zero turnovers to round out a phenomenal evening, but he's a marginal fantasy player with Derrick Rose healthy and Aaron Brooks soaking up backup PG minutes. As a point of reference, Hinrich didn't score 20 points in a single game last year, even though he started 61 games. You've gotta love the preseason.
Oct 19 - 10:37 PM

Joakim Noah (knee) started Sunday's game vs. Charlotte and scored four points with seven rebounds and two assists in 24 minutes.

"I feel a lot better than I did two weeks ago," said Noah, who had offseason knee surgery. "It’s a work in progress, but overall I’m very happy. I have no swelling in my knee and I can keep building." We've repeatedly warned that his scoring and assists may dip this year with Derrick Rose and Pau Gasol leading the offense, but that shouldn't prevent Noah from being a top-50 fantasy option and a low-end No. 1 center.
Oct 19 - 10:36 PM

Anthony Bennett struggled in 11 minutes on Sunday before sitting out due to a sore knee.

He went 0-of-2 from the field with two rebounds and one steal in limited action. His knee injury doesn't sound serious but it's one more obstacle between Bennett and meaningful fantasy value. He's not a recommended fantasy target while Andrew Wiggins and Thaddeus Young are both healthy.
Oct 19 - 10:13 PM

Trey Burke will be given a precautionary night off on Sunday, allowing Dante Exum to start at PG for the Jazz.

Burke has been terrific this preseason and he's coming off a game with 21 points, five rebounds and six assists, so he's earned a bit of rest. His FG percentage remains a concern but that's not uncommon for PGs, and he has enough upside to warrant a selection in the late rounds.
Oct 19 - 9:50 PM

Jordan Farmar sat out the end of Saturday's game with tightness in his lower back, which he described as nerve pain that travels from his lower back to his hip.

"We’ll see, but I think I’ll be OK," Farmar said. "I work really hard trying to keep everything ready to go for the season, so that’s what we’re shooting for." The prospect of lower-back nerve damage is unsettling and it's hard not to think about Steve Nash or even 23-year-old John Jenkins, who had lower-back/leg pain in early 2014 and wound up having season-ending surgery in February. For now we'll assume that Farmar is day-to-day with the injury, but deep-league owners should keep a close eye on the injury report.
Oct 19 - 9:28 PM

Jimmy Butler will not return to Sunday's game after spraining his left thumb in the first half.

He hurt himself during an attempted steal and was initially able to continue playing, but the Bulls pulled the plug in the second quarter. He's one of the toughest guys in the league and shouldn't miss significant time, so he's a near-certainty for Chicago's season opener unless tests reveal something more serious than a sprain.
Oct 19 - 9:04 PM

Jeremy Lamb will not play on Sunday due to a bruised left heel.

The injury sounds minor but it's enough to keep OKC's third-year guard sidelined for an exhibition game. He averaged a whopping 36 minutes in OKC's first four preseason games, chipping in 18.3 points, 6.8 rebounds, 3.0 assists and 1.5 steals, but he also shot just 32.9 percent shooting. He's in line for a bigger role while Kevin Durant (foot) is sidelined, but owners should prepare for the inevitable drop-off.
Oct 19 - 5:28 PM

Jared Sullinger posted a massive double-double in Sunday's win over Brooklyn by scoring 21 points on 7-of-15 shooting, and adding 19 rebounds, one assist, two steals, and three 3-pointers in the NBA's first ever 44-minute game.

He had his way with Brooklyn all afternoon and the 3-pointers are really encouraging. It should be noted that he also had five fouls which has always been a concern with him. Sullinger is the clear starting PF and games like this only solidify his role. He will be an excellent value pick late in standard league drafts.
