Ricky Rubio is now cleared to play 26-28 minutes.

Additionally, Rubio was wearing a white starter's jersey at shootaround on Tuesday, and it's possible he could return to the starting five sooner than anyone thought. Even if he doesn't start, Rubio is clearly on the comeback trail and he is a must-own in every format for his ability to contribute for the remainder of the season.

Jared Sullinger is expected to start at center vs. the Pistons on Saturday.

Brandon Bass will start at PF with Kelly Olynyk coming off the bench. Head coach Brad Stevens has resisted starting Sullinger at center, but the move was necessitated by Kris Humphries' absence with knee tendinitis. Sullinger has been a steady late-round value in 30 minutes per game over the past few weeks, and a starting gig should only increase his production.
Apr 5 - 5:49 PM

Nikola Vucevic (Achilles) will not play vs. the Timberwolves on Saturday, according to coach Jacque Vaughn.

Vuc ruled himself out on Friday after feeling sore during pre-game warmups, and the Magic will undoubtedly play it safe with their prized big man this late in the season. His absence will shift Dewayne Dedmon into the starting lineup at C with Kyle O'Quinn staying at PF. The Wolves' big men are also sure to benefit from Vucevic's absence.

Kyrie Irving strongly denied a report that his "camp" has said for years that Irving wants to leave Cleveland.

"Sick to my stomach with all these rumors and accusations," Irving wrote on Twitter. "Can I play without media guessing at my life and putting B.S out for headlines ... There's no such source as 'Kyrie's camp', nothing but nonsense." The Cavs are in a position to pay Irving the most money for the most years during restricted free agency in 2015-16, but even that looming payday and Irving's outright denial of these rumors won't staunch the speculation next season.
Apr 5 - 4:05 PM

Chris Kaman (calf), Pau Gasol (vertigo) and Steve Nash (nerves) will all sit out Sunday's game.

The Lakers go into a matchup vs. the Clippers without Kaman or Gasol, which means they'll lean heavily on Jordan Hill and Robert Sacre for frontcourt production. Kaman is day-to-day but fantasy owners should avoid him given his inconsistent role for Mike D'Antoni and the fact that L.A. only plays five games after Sunday.
Apr 5 - 2:59 PM

Carmelo Anthony (shoulder) plans to play Sunday, but he clarified that he has a "deep bruise" or "light sprain" which will affect every aspect of his game.

"It feels tight," he said. "It's hard to lift up; it's hard to do things ... That's where you get all of your strength from. Shooting, dribbling the ball, passing the ball." The Knicks called the injury a "shoulder strain" after X-rays came back negative, but whatever is wrong with him led to a season-worst 10-point effort on Friday. The Knicks are one game out of the playoffs and they'll need their team MVP to recover quickly to fend off the Hawks and Cavaliers.
Apr 5 - 2:24 PM

Dwight Howard's ankle feels "a lot better" but he will not play vs. the Nuggets on Sunday.

Dwight said that he's resting and working on his conditioning to avoid aggravating the injury before the playoffs. His cautious approach makes sense, and he had minor surgery to remove a cyst just a few weeks ago, so fantasy owners will have to proceed warily until we've seen him on the court. Fill-in center Omer Asik is averaging 9.2 points, 13.6 rebounds and 0.6 blocks in Houston's past five games.
Apr 5 - 2:14 PM

Nikola Vucevic said his left Achilles tendon became "more and more sore" while going through his pre-game routine on Friday, which forced him to sit out vs. the Bobcats.

Magic coach Jacque Vaughn said the team was being "cautious" by resting Vucevic, whose last-second DNP came as a rude surprise for many fantasy owners. "I don't know how it just got sore on me," he said. "That hasn't bothered me before. Maybe it was something I did [to cause the injury], but I don't remember doing it." Orlando's schedule leaves minimal room for recovery as they take the court again vs. the Wolves on Saturday, and owners should consider him questionable due to his mysterious Achilles pain.
Apr 5 - 1:48 PM

Larry Sanders apologized for violating the league's marijuana policy three times, resulting in a five-game suspension, but he also expressed strong support for marijuana legalization.

"It's a banned substance in my league," Sanders said. "But I believe in marijuana and the medical side of it ... I study it and I know the benefits it has. In a lot of ways we've been deprived." He's likely to serve his suspension at the beginning of the 2014-15 season, which isn't exactly the fresh start Sanders needed after appearing in just 23 games during a ruinous campaign this year.
Apr 5 - 9:43 AM

Brandan Wright hit all 10 of his field goals in Friday's win, finishing with 23 points to go with five rebounds, one steal and two blocks in 27 minutes off the bench.

If you had him in your lineup then you probably should have been playing the lottery and Fan Duel instead. Samuel Dalembert went for 14 and 14 with a steal and block in just 21 minutes, and this has everything to do with the opposing Lakers giving it up tonight. If Wright can do it again he'll be worth a look but for now this is looking like a fluke.
Apr 5 - 2:07 AM

James Harden burned his former team during an impressive 111-107 win over the Thunder on Friday, scoring 39 points with nine boards, seven assists, two steals and four 3-pointers

The Rockets clinched a playoff berth tonight and they're looking like a very dangerous team currently sitting in the four spot of the Western Conference standings. As for Harden, he's absolutely crushing right now. After the break, he ranks third in the NBA for points per game and just 10th in field goal attempts per game as one of the most efficient players on the planet while also filling up the stat sheet. He's going to win a lot of fantasy titles for those in head-to-head leagues.
Apr 5 - 2:05 AM

Ray McCallum hit just 2-of-14 shots in Friday's 33-point loss to the Warriors, finishing with four points, two rebounds, 10 assists and two steals in 44 minutes.

After tearing through bottom tier point guards in mostly garbage-time games, Ray Mac ran into a Warriors team playing to ensure their playoff status. It's unclear when or if Isaiah Thomas (quad) will return so owners can hold here, especially since McCallum will continue to get heavy minutes and touches if Thomas remains out.
