Ricky Rubio was unhappy with being benched late in the game on Wednesday and plans to speak with the team about it.

Rubio had five points and six assists in 24 minutes, but he was clearly unhappy with not being on the floor during crunch time. Rubio hasn't exactly lit the world on fire this season, but sitting him behind Luke Ridnour and J.J. Barea left him visibly unhappy.

Harry Giles (knee) has been ruled out for the 2017-18 season.

Giles is reportedly "healthy" and hasn't suffered any setbacks, but the Kings will hold him out until the Summer League. Giles tore his left ACL in 2013 and his right one in 2015, and the Kings want to improve his overall strength before throwing him into game action. The Kings are saying that his measurements in athletic tests are better than they were before the draft, and he still has some intrigue in dynasty formats.

James Harden (hamstring) will play vs. the Wolves on Thursday.

Even though the Rockets will be shorthanded with Trevor Ariza and Gerald Green suspended, Harden will have restrictions and is expected to see about 24-25 minutes. As long he doesn't suffer any setbacks, it shouldn't take long for the MVP candidate to get back to his normal allotment of minutes.

Joel Embiid said that he's hopeful that he'll play in both games of back-to-back sets by the end of the month.

Take this with a grain of salt, as this decision likely isn't up to Embiid. He would see a huge boost in value if this comes true and it would be a game-changer for fantasy owners in head-to-head leagues. He gets a matchup with the Celtics on Thursday night, a team that he struggled against last week with 15 points on 6-of-17 shots.

Blazers coach Terry Stotts said he may tweak the rotation to get Shabazz Napier more minutes.

"Coach talked to us a little bit about doing some different things with the rotation," C.J. McCollum said. "Trying to figure out different ways to get us on the court together and have [Shabazz] out there." We've seen some 3-PG lineups for the Blazers in recent weeks with Napier sharing the floor with Damian Lillard and McCollum, and it makes sense for Portland to get Napier more involved because he's been really solid on offense. He's an excellent handcuff for Lillard's owners and will have some standalone value if this trend continues.

Bogdan Bogdanovic went off for a career-high 25 points on 9-of-11 shooting on Wednesday, adding six rebounds, two assists, one steal and a flawless 6-of-6 mark from downtown.

He played 39 minutes and you should double-check that he's not available in your leagues. The Kings will rest 2-3 veterans every game and Bogdanovic is one of the big winners here, as the 25-year-old is more polished than most rookies thanks to years of pro experience overseas. The league's GMs ranked him one of the summer's "most underrated player acquisitions" before the season began, and we're starting to see why.

Willie Cauley-Stein scored a season-high-tying 26 points on Wednesday, hitting 11-of-18 FGs and 4-of-6 FTs with 10 rebounds, two assists, one steal and one block.

WCS played 37 minutes tonight and he's now averaging 36.7 minutes in the Kings' past three games. His fantasy owners have to be thrilled that Sacramento is turning him loose in mid-January, rather than waiting until the All-Star break. With multiple veterans resting every night, Cauley-Stein's rest-of-season outlook is fantastic.
Jan 18 - 1:28 AM

Rodney Hood lit up for 25 points vs. Sacramento on Wednesday, making 9-of-16 FGs and 3-of-3 FTs with four 3-pointers, eight rebounds and two assists.

Hood also had two steals without a turnover tonight, and it's encouraging to see him chip in across the board -- he's averaging a mere 2.7 rebounds, 1.7 assists, 0.8 steals and 0.2 blocks this season. Thabo Sefolosha (knee surgery) is done for the season, which leaves 20+ minutes available on the wings, so it's likely Hood will absorb some of that -- he played 31 minutes tonight.
Jan 18 - 1:19 AM

Hassan Whiteside busted out for season-highs 27 points and six blocks during a 106-101 win over the Bucks on Wednesday, adding 13 rebounds and one turnover.

He made 10-of-12 from the field in arguably his best game of the year. Whiteside has really rounded into form over his last five games, averaging 16.0 points, 12.2 boards and 3.6 blocks on 60.8 percent from the field and 81.8 percent from the line. After the Wednesday win, Whiteside did say he was sick for the past couple days, but that may have been referring to a bad loss to the Bulls on Monday. Whatever the case, his fantasy owners should finally have that sour taste out of their mouths from that lingering knee injury.

Donovan Mitchell was sensational throughout Wednesday's road win in Sacramento, scoring 34 points on 14-of-19 shooting with three assists, three steals, one rebound and one 3-pointer.

Mitchell also hit 5-of-7 free throws, with three turnovers in 34 minutes. He's incredibly polished for a 21-year-old rookie and shows no signs of tiring despite averaging 31.4 minutes in a featured role. If you have any doubts, click on the link below for a high-flying dunk when he basically went 1-of-5 vs. the Kings' defense. Whether or not the No. 10 seed Jazz have playoff hopes, Mitchell is locked into a huge role over Utah's final 37 games.

Klay Thompson torched the Bulls during a 119-112 win on Wednesday, making 12-of-22 from the field for a season-high 38 points with four rebounds, two assists and seven 3-pointers.

Stephen Curry also dropped 30, so coach Steve Kerr summed up this night for the Warriors. "Old school Splash Brothers night," Kerr said to describe this win. The Warriors have now won 14 straight games on the road and they'll get a tough test in Houston on Saturday night. Thompson is starting to get hot again and he's played 35 minutes in each of his last four games.
Jan 18 - 12:42 AM

Carmelo Anthony lit up the Lakers for a game-high 27 points on Wednesday, going 10-of-15 from the field with four 3-pointers, three rebounds, two assists and one steal in 27 minutes.

Melo's altered role in OKC has led to some swings in his fantasy value, but he's settling in as a designated catch-and-shoot guy -- he was slumping from the field, so it was nice to see him find a groove tonight. He'll look to keep it going when the Thunder seek their fourth straight win vs. the visiting Cavs on Saturday.
