Delonte West has signed in the D-League for the Texas Legends.

West will attempt to resurrect his NBA career by using the D-League as a springboard. Previously, the Grizzlies were rumored to be interested in signing him to a 10-day contract.

LeBron James scored 16 points with five rebounds, six assists, one steal, six turnovers and one foul in 35 minutes against the Magic during a 104-103 win.

He had one of the most ridiculous passes you'll ever see as he did a no-look, behind-the-back, nutmeg pass for a layup (video in link below). Besides that, James didn't play well with all those turnovers, making 2-of-8 from the line, and lots of mistakes. The Cavs almost blew this game and almost dropped their fifth straight, and LeBron commented on that after the game. "We're in Strugglesville," he said. In other news, LeBron was named an All-Star captain today.
Jan 18 - 10:48 PM

Aaron Gordon scored 17 points during a 104-103 loss to the Cavs on Thursday, adding 11 rebounds, two assists, three steals and two 3-pointers in 36 minutes.

He did not start the second half, but he came in after just one minute into the third quarter -- you can feel free to guess why. Gordon has really struggled with his jumper since his return from injury on Dec. 28, making just 28.7 percent of his 115 attempts, which explains why he's made just 39.2 percent from the field over those 10. Either way, Gordon continues to fill it up and he should be able to climb into the mid 40s for FG% soon enough.
Jan 18 - 10:32 PM

Elfrid Payton scored 19 points with four rebounds, eight assists, one block, two steals and one 3-pointer in 30 minutes against the Cavs on Thursday.

He's been boom or bust lately, but Payton has finally found his mojo over his last dozen games. In that span, he averaged 16.1 points, 4.5 boards, 6.9 assists, 1.5 steals and 0.6 treys on 54.2 percent from the field and 78.0 percent from the line. Not coincidentally, Nikola Vucevic (hand) went down 12 games ago, so that may explain his recent improvement. Keep him rolling, though.
Jan 18 - 10:28 PM

Joel Embiid matched his career-high 16 rebounds in an 89-80 win over the Celtics on Thursday, adding 26 points, six rebounds, one assist, two blocks and four turnovers in 35 minutes.

The Process got his wish to be an All-Star today and he probably has a couple things in store on Twitter later tonight. Although, he did pull his version of the "you're not breaking up with me, I'm breaking up with you" line after the game when he said he's on to the next one after Rihanna. Additional good news for Embiid is the team is hopeful to drop his back-to-back restriction, so that'll be something to watch for the back-to-back set on Jan. 28-29. Embiid was also looking at his right hand a couple times in this game, so that may still not be right.
Jan 18 - 10:03 PM

T.J. McConnell scored 15 points with two rebounds, two assists, three steals and two 3-pointers in 26 minutes against the Celtics on Thursday.

He looks to be the winner from the J.J. Redick injury and he should play down the stretch most nights, assuming someone else isn't hot. McConnell was very efficient in this game with his 5-of-8 shooting line, so he probably won't be getting into the teens too often. The 76ers play every other day until their back-to-back starts on Jan. 28, so McConnell is worth a look if you need a boost at PG for the next 11 days while Redick is on the shelf.
Jan 18 - 9:53 PM

Robert Covington made 1-of-5 from the field for five points with two rebounds, two assists, one steal, one block and one 3-pointer in 40 minutes against the Celtics on Thursday.

He did look to hurt his left elbow down the stretch, but he stayed in the game. Covington is not playing well in 2018, averaging just 7.8 points, 5.0 boards, 1.6 assists, 0.8 steals, 0.2 blocks and 1.4 treys on 33.3 percent from the field. We've seen this movie before with RoCo going through some slumps, so his fantasy owners just have to weather the storm. While he's a clear buy-low option, don't expect him to be as good as he was in November or after the break last season.
Jan 18 - 9:48 PM

Rudy Gobert (knee) is probable for Friday's game against the Knicks.

Well hello there, Mr. Stifle Tower. Back on Jan. 13, Gobert was expected to be sidelined for 7-10 more days, so he'll beat that timetable by a day, assuming all goes well. This is obviously huge news for the Jazz and Gobert's patient fantasy owners. His return means guys like Derrick Favors, Jonas Jerebko, Joe Johnson and Ekpe Udoh will all be taking a noticeable hit.
Jan 18 - 8:13 PM

Tyler Johnson (sprained left ankle) visited a specialist in New York on Thursday, but nothing new was revealed.

This is great news. Johnson has already been ruled out for Friday's game vs. the Nets, but nothing suggests he'll be out long-term -- TJ even reportedly wanted to play on Wednesday, but the Heat training staff shut him down. Justise Winslow and Wayne Ellington gain the most in his absence.
Jan 18 - 6:43 PM

The All-Star starters this season will be LeBron James, Giannis Antetokounmpo, Stephen Curry, James Harden, Kevin Durant, Joel Embiid, Anthony Davis, DeMarcus Cousins, Kyrie Irving and DeMar DeRozan.

The All-Star reserves will be announced on Jan. 23. As the top-voted players in their respective conferences, LeBron and Steph Curry will get to pick their teams in a playground-style 'draft'. This should be fun.
Jan 18 - 6:32 PM

Lonzo Ball (knee) is listed 'out' for Friday's game vs. the Pacers.

This shouldn't surprise his fantasy owners, since the Lakers err on the side of caution and coach Luke Walton said recently that "[Ball] doesn’t look like he’s ready to start playing." Tyler Ennis, Josh Hart and Jordan Clarkson all stand to gain in Ball's absence, but there are no clear-cut fantasy winners here.
Jan 18 - 6:15 PM

Derrick Rose (knee) will play off the Cavaliers' bench on Thursday.

The Cavs haven't cited a specific minute-limit for Rose, but we're not expecting him to play much and he's not worth a pickup with Isaiah Thomas healthy. Among other concerns, coach Ty Lue has hinted that Rose's workload will only increase on nights when Dwyane Wade is rested.

RotoGrinders.com Daily Slant: Despite Rose's return, Isaiah Thomas is still an elite DFS play on this slate. His price is only going to rise from this point forward and if his 33 minutes on Monday is any indication, he's about ready to be unleashed. The ORL/CLE tilt is probably a slate-changer - if this one stays competitive, both teams play such horrific defense that it has potential to turn into a shootout. Thomas is the top dollar per point play on the CLE side.
