Updating a previous report, DeQuan Jones (sore foot) will not play on Monday.

This won't impact fantasy leagues but it's still an unfortunate turn of events, as Jones played 19 minutes on Saturday and could have been a substantial contributor with so many guys injured for the Magic.

Suns GM Ryan McDonough said Alan Williams (knee) could miss "half the season or more."

He's undergoing surgery on his torn meniscus on Monday morning, so we should have a better idea of his timetable in a few days. The Suns re-signed Alex Len this week, so he will open the season as Tyson Chandler's backup. In addition to Len getting a bump with this report, McDonough said Marquese Chriss and Dragan Bender could be in the mix for some center minutes as well.

Bucks GM Jon Horst said there's no concern about Giannis Antetokounmpo's knee.

He admitted that there was an issue earlier in the offseason (the reason he didn't play for Greece), but added that he's fine now. Coach Jason Kidd also said that Antetokounmpo will be a full go in training camp. Still only 22, Giannis is a candidate to go No. 1 in a lot of fantasy drafts with the knee concerns behind him and should make a serious push for the MVP Award this season.

Cavaliers coach Tyronn Lue confirmed that Derrick Rose will open the season as the starting point guard.

The Cavaliers are expecting Isaiah Thomas (hip) back by January, so Rose could have a significant workload for the first half of the season. Rose is healthy after undergoing a left knee arthroscopy back in April and isn't expected to have any restrictions early on. He should have some low-end value for owners targeting points and assists, but he's not worth grabbing before the later rounds due to a lack of upside in steals and 3-pointers. He's not exactly durable either.
Sep 25 - 12:42 PM

Chandler Parsons (knee) will be a full participant in training camp.

Additionally, Parsons has been playing full-contact 5-on-5 and isn't expected to have any restrictions. His left knee limited him to 34 games last season and when he did play he looked like a shell of himself. If you're looking to take a flier on Parsons, you won't have to make your move until the later rounds.
Sep 25 - 12:19 PM

Isaiah Thomas (hip) is expected to make his Cavaliers debut by January.

Thomas and the Cavs have been dodging questions about his hip for weeks, but the PG has started on-court activities and we finally have an idea of his timetable. There are 36 games before the end of the calendar year, so Thomas could miss nearly half the season if this timetable holds up. His ADP should plummet following this report, while Derrick Rose should open the season as the starting PG.
Sep 25 - 12:09 PM

Joel Embiid (knee) said he doesn't think he will play in all 82 games this season.

Not that this is a surprise, but at least he's honest and realistic after saying he will play in all 82 earlier in the offseason. As for his knee, Embiid said he's had several scans and that everything looks "perfect." He's still not cleared for 5-on-5, but he chalked it up to the 76ers being cautious and said he could if needed. The good news is that he confirmed he's expecting to be ready for opening night.

With training camp opening on Tuesday, Ben Simmons (foot) said he's 100 percent and ready to go.

He also reiterated that he's not expecting any restrictions. Simmons has been playing full-contact 5-on-5 for a while and 76ers GM Bryan Colangelo said last week that he's been "dominating the gym." His ADP is only going to rise with all of these positive reports coming out of Philly.

Raptors coach Dwane Casey hinted that Jonas Valanciunas will keep his starting role.

His minutes have been trending in the wrong direction for the past four seasons, so his job is anything but safe. The Raptors are expected to use Serge Ibaka at center a lot this season and Jakob Poeltl and Lucas Nogueira are more than capable of pushing J-Val for minutes. However, as long as J-Val is starting and getting minutes in the mid-20s, he should be a mid-round fantasy player.
Sep 25 - 11:13 AM

Raptors coach Dwane Casey said the starting small forward position is still up in the air.

The position battle is between C.J. Miles and Norman Powell with OG Anunoby (knee) limited early on. Powell has the higher upside, but Miles will provide some value as a 3-point specialist if he wins the starting role after hitting 2.2 triples per game in three straight seasons.
Sep 25 - 11:09 AM

Timothe Luwawu is still dealing with knee tendinitis.

He wasn't able to play for France at Eurobasket because of this and it's a little concerning that he's not 100 percent yet. 76ers GM Bryan Colangelo added that TLC will likely have restrictions in camp. With J.J. Redick penciled in as the starting SG, TLC is looking at a minor role in Philly early on.
Sep 25 - 10:59 AM

76ers GM Bryan Colangelo said he's not actively shopping Jahlil Okafor.

We'd expect Colangelo to say this to salvage what little trade value the former No. 3 pick has. 76ers coach Brett Brown hinted last week that he plans to showcase Okafor in the preseason and to give him every opportunity, but he has a mountain to climb to get his backup center job back from Richaun Holmes. On a side note, Okafor's knee has limited him to 3-on-3 work this offseason and he still hasn't been cleared for 5-on-5 along with Joel Embiid (knee). It's safe to expect restrictions for both in camp.
