Thaddeus Young suffered a left hamstring strain in the second quarter of Monday's game against the Magic and he will not return.

It didn't look good and he had a fairly bad limp considering that it appears to be a muscle strain. The Sixers don't have much depth and they're going with Lavoy Allen to play more minutes at power forward. Allen hasn't been very effective in fantasy leagues, so his move should make Spencer Hawes the most noteworthy player to pick up value with Thad out. Young was ruled out quickly, so we'd consider him doubtful for Wednesday's game against the Pacers. He finished with six points and five boards in 15 minutes on Monday.

Zach Randolph (knee) and Tony Allen (eye) likely won't play in Sunday's game vs. the Cavaliers.

Randolph hasn't even made the trip to Cleveland yet, so there is almost no chance he plays against the Cavs. Randolph just had an MRI on Saturday, and even though it came back clean he is still dealing with swelling in his knee. Jon Leuer and Kosta Koufos will pick up some extra minutes if Randolph sits, but neither player is a reliable option.

Coach Brad Stevens is undecided on his starting lineup for Sunday's game against the Heat.

The Celtics just acquired Jameer Nelson, Jae Crowder, and Brandan Wright in a trade with Dallas, so there is a lot of uncertainty with what the Celtics plan to do with their new players. There is no need to speculate given the amount of options that Boston has, but the point guard and center positions are the only real question marks moving forward. However, Marcus Smart and Brandan Wright are clearly the best options for those positions, but crazier things have happened. Stay tuned.
Dec 21 - 10:45 AM

Goran Dragic will keep an open mind if he enters free agency in the offseason.

"It's still early to talk about that," Dragic said. "Right now, I want to be 100 percent focused on the team and try to help the team and players. In the offseason, I'm going to probably sit down with my family first and with my agent and try to explore all the options. From there, I'll try to choose the one best for me." There is no doubt that Dragic is an elite point guard, and he will definitely draw some major interest from several different teams. It would not be surprising to see some teams try to pry him away at the trade deadline if the Suns don't feel like Dragic will return, but for now nothing is close to developing and we will pass along updates as needed.

Giannis Antetokounmpo made 8-of-12 from the field for 18 points in a 106-102 loss to the Clippers on Saturday with nine rebounds, six assists, two steals and three turnovers.

He had a career-high six assists and he's finally starting to come around in the stat diversity department. Antetokounmpo is shooting the ball much better, which was by far his biggest issue last season. He's improving and is worth owning in standard leagues.
Dec 21 - 1:34 AM

Jared Dudley excelled against his former team on Saturday with 16 points, eight rebounds, three assists, two steals and two 3-pointers in 30 minutes.

That's back-to-back good games from Dudley and he's passed Khris Middleton as the waiver-wire add du jour. Dudley's done a fair amount of ball handling to go with his perimeter shooting, so there is enough upside to at least give him a look. That said, trusting coach Jason Kidd's rotation is like trusting a dingo to look after your baby.
Dec 21 - 1:12 AM

Danilo Gallinari scored a season-high 19 points against the Pacers during a 76-93 win on Saturday with three rebounds, one assist and one 3-pointer.

It's the most minutes he's played all month and it crushed his previous monthly average of 17.1 minutes. Gallinari has been shut down due to knee soreness before and that concern will always be hanging over his fantasy value. Unless you're going to cut something you're not going to terribly miss, it's tough to add the Rooster.
Dec 21 - 1:00 AM

Roy Hibbert did not score in 24 minutes against the Nuggets on Saturday with five rebounds and four turnovers.

"I couldn’t get into a rhythm, I just haven’t been playing the way I have been," Hibbert said. Uh oh, here we go again. Hibbert had a tremendous start in 2013-14 and fizzled out worse than leaving a bottle of soda open for a day, and he might be doing it again. In his last five, he's averaged 6.6 points, 5.4 boards, 0.6 blocks and 2.0 turnovers on 33.3 percent from the field. It's not time to repeatedly press the panic button yet, but his fantasy owners should be on alert.
Dec 21 - 12:18 AM

Rajon Rondo had an underwhelming Dallas debut on Saturday, making 3-of-11 from the field for six points with seven rebounds, nine assists, two steals and four turnovers.

He was a bystander as Monta had it all. Rondo's shot selection wasn't great tonight and the Mavericks might want him to dial down his mid-range jumpers if they want to remain No. 1 in offensive efficiency. The Celtics led the NBA in pace while he was there -- Dallas was 11th at the time of the trade -- while Rondo is posting career lows in several categories, so it's hard to get too excited about his fantasy value in standard leagues. He's obviously still worth owning, though.
Dec 21 - 12:02 AM

Monta Ellis dominated down the stretch against the Spurs during a 99-93 win with 38 points, one assist, four steals and five 3-pointers in 40 minutes.

It was Monta Time. He scored 11 of the last 13 points for the Mavericks, which is no surprise since he leads the NBA in field goals in the second half. Ellis has been a much better ball handler than Rajon Rondo this year and his turnover rate is his best ever while he has tremendous rapport with the rest of the starters. The Mavericks lead the NBA in offensive efficiency because of Monta, so don't expect that to change much.
Dec 20 - 11:50 PM

Aron Baynes scored a career-high 16 points with 10 rebounds, two assists, one steal, one block and four turnovers against the Mavericks on Saturday.

He keeps getting better in the starting lineup. In his previous five starts, Baynes averaged 10.8 points, 7.4 boards and 0.2 blocks in 26.4 minutes per game. It's becoming quite clear Baynes will be worth a look as a low-end fantasy option on the nights Tim Duncan gets his rest. On the other hand, he's not going to thrive while TD is playing, so Baynes is not worth owning in most leagues.
Dec 20 - 11:34 PM

James Harden needed to go to the locker room in the first half due to a hamstring injury on Saturday and did return in the second quarter, finishing with 18 points, six rebounds, 14 assists, one steal, one block and two 3-pointers during a 104-97 loss.

He played 39 minutes and the injury didn't seem to bother him much. The Rockets are off until Monday when they'll get a much anticipated rematch against the Blazers, so Harden owners can expect him to suit up for that one. Of course there is a chance he deals with soreness.
