Doug Collins said that Thaddeus Young (hamstring) "could be out for a while" following Monday's win over Orlando.

The sense around the team is that he has a fairly severe strain and he will likely get an MRI on Tuesday. Young could be dealing with at least a grade-2 strain, which would cost him multiple games. Owners in 10-team leagues can entertain the idea of cutting him, but only if it's for a must-have free agent. Spencer Hawes would fit that bill and projects to put up big numbers with Thad out.

Trevor Ariza scored 17 points against the Warriors on Monday with five rebounds, three assists, two steals, one block and three 3-pointers in 40 minutes.

The Rockets needed everyone to step up, and that's what happened today. Terrence Jones scored 14 points with five rebounds, two assists, two blocks and one 3-pointer while Jason Terry added 10 points and four assists. Dwight Howard also had a nice game with 14 points, 12 rebounds, two steals, two blocks and three turnovers. This was also the first game ever in which both teams each made at least 15 treys. The Warriors also attempted 46 attempts from deep, which is also a record. Game 5 will be in Oakland on Wednesday.

Josh Smith made 7-of-8 from the field and 3-of-12 from the line for 20 points against the Warriors on Monday, adding six rebounds, five assists, two blocks, six turnovers and three 3-pointers.

That's an effective field goal percentage of 106.3, but a true shooting percentage of 75.3 because of his awful foul shooting. Smith was on fire in the first quarter and scored 13 of his 20 in that frame. The Warriors did a Hack-A-Smoove late and it forced him out of the game. We saw the good and bad Smoove tonight, which is nothing new for any game. The Rockets will need another good game in Oakland on Wednesday.
May 25 - 11:55 PM

Stephen Curry returned from a head contusion in the third quarter on Monday, finishing with 23 points, one rebound, four assists and six 3-pointers in 31 minutes.

He cleared a concussion test and air-balled his first shot from beyond the arc after a return. Curry made 4-of-11 after the injury and had all four of his assists, so the injury didn't seem to affect him too much. He'll be ready to roll for Game 5 on Wednesday.
May 25 - 11:50 PM

Klay Thompson scored 24 points during a 128-115 loss to the Rockets on Monday, adding three rebounds, two assists, two steals and six 3-pointers.

It looked like he was on his way to his biggest game of the postseason, but the Rockets did a better job of keeping Klay in check. The Rockets did seem to be focused more on Stephen Curry and that may help Thompson, but Klay didn't make many strides sans the MVP. We're still waiting for a big game and it could come on Wednesday. Thompson and Curry also set a record for most treys from a tandem in a single postseason.
May 25 - 11:46 PM

Draymond Green fouled out in 40 minutes against the Rockets on Monday, scoring 21 points with 15 rebounds, four assists, five blocks and two 3-pointers on 9-of-14 from the field.

He sprinted to the bench after his sixth foul and the Rockets fans gave him a nice little cheer. Green said seeing the Houston fans leave early in Game 3 was "the best feeling in the world" and tonight it was just a little different. He might have been Golden State's best player tonight and the Warriors are almost certainly going to match anything this offseason. He's a beast.
May 25 - 11:40 PM

Stephen Curry (head contusion) has been cleared to play on Monday and has returned.

Exhale, NBA fans.
May 25 - 10:47 PM

Shaun Livingston started for Stephen Curry for the second half on Monday.

Curry has a head contusion and remains questionable to return. We'll be looking for any update as the game goes on. Livingston isn't much of a 3-point shooter, so expect the Warriors offense to change its flow. Klay Thompson is a good bet for his first 30-point game of the postseason.
May 25 - 10:33 PM

Stephen Curry suffered a head contusion and is questionable to return on Monday.

This is good news for Curry and the Warriors. The team also said his shoulder is fine, which is almost hard to believe considering his shoulder took most of the impact. Usually, a "questionable to return" following a head injury means a player was cleared of initial concussion testing. However, there have been instances when a player would fail it later on. We'll have an update at the start of the second half.
May 25 - 10:08 PM

The NBA determined that it won't move up the NBA Finals and it will start on June 4, as expected.

It would have been nice to have less than a week off, but that's where we could be headed with two sweeps. The Warriors are likely going to host the Cavs for Game 1 on June 4, assuming the Rockets or Hawks don't become the first team to overcome a 3-0 deficit.
May 25 - 5:34 PM

Kyle Korver (ankle) is seeking a second opinion, and there has been no decision made on whether or not he needs surgery.

Teammate DeMarre Carroll got the wheels spinning when he suggested Korver would need surgery, but that is premature and inaccurate at this point. Korver will see a foot and ankle specialist before a course of action is determined, and while it's possible he could have surgery, nothing has been decided. The Hawks have said there is no break of any kind in Korver's ankle, but a severe sprain could involve ligament tears, swelling and bruising among other damage. We need to wait for an official diagnosis before speculating any further, but don't expect to see Korver again this postseason.
May 25 - 10:06 AM

Kyrie Irving (knee) is likely to be a game-time decision for Tuesday's Game 4 vs. Atlanta.

Irving worked out before Game 3 for about 40 minutes, but he was not cleared by team doctors and it was always doubtful that he'd be able to take the floor. Now armed with a 3-0 series lead, the Cavs could opt to play it safe and having Irving sit out another contest. If that happens, Matthew Dellavedova would draw another start.
