Sources tell ESPN's Marc Stein the Bulls and Raptors have had preliminary talks about a trade that would send Carlos Boozer to Toronto for Andrea Bargnani.

While we can't help but laugh at the idea of Bargnani under defensive-minded coach Tom Thibodeau, his 3-point shooting would definitely help the Bulls once Derrick Rose (torn ACL) returns. Meanwhile, Boozer would help fill a role vacated when the Raptors sent F Ed Davis to Memphis in the Rudy Gay deal. It's important for Boozer and Bargnani owners to remember the word "preliminary" when thinking about Stein's report, but it could be a deal that helps both players' fantasy values.

Michael Carter-Williams returned from an illness on Wednesday and just missed a triple-double with 14 points, nine rebounds, 10 assists, two blocks and a 3-pointer on 5-of-10 shooting.

Looky there, MCW shoots it 10 times and has an efficient night and the Sixers win. Funny how that works. On a serious note, he's been a fantasy beast on most nights he's played this season, and it was good to see him back in action.
Jan 28 - 11:18 PM

D.J. Augustin laid an egg on Wednesday, missing all seven of his shots and finishing with just two points, one rebound, four assists and two steals in 34 minutes.

The good news is that he played so many minutes and Brandon Jennings isn't coming back anytime soon. Yes, this game was a total buzzkill for all of DJA's new owners, but he should bounce back in the next one. Don't cut him.

Anthony Davis (groin) will have an MRI on Thursday.

It was great to see him return from an injury, but coach Monty Williams pulled his star forward because he was laboring. The Pelicans tend to take it easy on Davis when he's not at 100 percent, so we would consider him questionable to play on Friday against Blake Griffin. Davis finished with 24 points, 12 rebounds, two assists and two blocks in 37 minutes.
Jan 28 - 10:48 PM

Kevin Love suffered a left knee injury on Wednesday but played through it, hitting just 3-of-15 shots and two 3-pointers for 10 points, 12 rebounds and zero assists.

We were hoping for a much bigger line with LeBron James in street clothes, but Love just didn't have it tonight, while Kyrie Irving took care of Cleveland's offensive needs. Love suffered the knee injury thanks to being run into by Chris Kaman, and we'll have to see how he's feeling on Thursday morning. Consider him day-to-day for now. If he's going to miss time, Tristan Thompson could become relevant again.
Jan 28 - 10:31 PM

Nicolas Batum played through his wrist injury on Wednesday and had seven points, four rebounds, seven assists, two steals, a block and a 3-pointer on 3-of-8 shooting.

The line wasn't spectacular, but he was effective, and his owners should just be thankful that his injury doesn't appear to be serious enough to keep him out long term. He missed the last two Blazers games before returning tonight.
Jan 28 - 10:28 PM

Anthony Davis returned to Wednesday's game in the fourth quarter.

Jan 28 - 10:02 PM

Nene (foot) will not play against the Suns on Wednesday.

He has a handful of foot injuries and it's hardly a surprise to see him sit. Kris Humphries will start and should be worth a look in standard leagues and DFS tonight. Nene is not worth owning in standard leagues.
Jan 28 - 9:36 PM

Kyrie Irving scored an NBA season-high 55 points in a thrilling 99-94 victory over Blazers on Wednesday, adding four rebounds, five assists, two steals and 11 triples in 39 minutes.

On top of that, he hit a cold-blooded 3-pointer with six seconds left to give the Cavs a three-point lead. Irving made 17-of-36 from the field and all 10 from the line. He also made six 3-pointers on Tuesday and has at least three in four straight. After his career night, it's safe to say this is his peak for the season.
Jan 28 - 9:34 PM

Cole Aldrich (left shin contusion) will not return to Wednesday's game against the Thunder.

It was unclear when he suffered the injury, but the Knicks will just keep him out. Aldrich was already losing minutes to Jason Smith and Lance Thomas, so he can be cut in most leagues.
Jan 28 - 9:18 PM

Jamal Crawford will start against the Jazz on Wednesday.

J.J. Redick is out with a back problem, which means Crawford could start for a few games because Redick has dealt with this before. Crawford should see more minutes and he was at his best while Redick was out last season, so he should be viewed as a must-start player in standard leagues.
Jan 28 - 9:11 PM

John Wall will play against the Suns on Wednesday night.

There is no word of him being limited, so his fantasy owners can start him against his former Kentucky understudy, Eric Bledsoe. Wall should put up nice numbers in a game with a little faster pace than they're used to.
