Tim Duncan (knee) and Manu Ginobili (hamstring) are both out for Friday's game against the Pistons.

Coach Gregg Popovich says Duncan is getting "close." But with a back-to-back road set looming on Sunday/Monday, we wouldn't be surprised to see him held out a little longer. Note that after tonight, the Spurs have just three more games until the All-Star break.

Goran Dragic scored a game-high 20 points against the Wizards on Wednesday during a 106-98 win, adding three rebounds, two assists, two steals and two 3-pointers.

Dragic and Bledsoe are fourth and third in the NBA points in fast break and that style of play has helped a slew of guys put up favorable fantasy value. Dragic was coming off two horrendous games with just 12 points combined, so he needed a bounce-back game. In the last month, Dragic has been awesome at the rim in the past month, which explains why he's made 53.3 percent from the field in his last 16. His slow start is a distant memory.

Paul Millsap had 28 points, 15 rebounds, a steal, two blocks and three 3-pointers on 5-of-9 shooting as the Hawks beat the Nets on Wednesday for their 17th straight win.

He also hit 15-of-16 free throws, and is back on track at the line (in a big way) after a slow start this season. The Hawks have now won 31 of their last 33 games and are finally gaining the attention of the national media, for good reason. Additionally, the team matched last season's playoff-worthy win total of 38 and we're not even to the All-Star break yet.
Jan 29 - 1:51 AM

Cody Zeller played 37 minutes against the Spurs on Wednesday with nine points, 13 rebounds, seven assists, one 3-pointer and one block.

He set career highs in assists and treys tonight. Zeller's involvement in the offense seems to be trending up with Kemba Walker (knee) out for six weeks and Marvin Williams (head) out for some time, as well. Zeller is worth a look in standard leagues.
Jan 29 - 1:37 AM

Lance Stephenson failed to score on his five attempts from the field against the Spurs on Wednesday with four rebounds, four assists, one steal, one block and four turnovers.

Born Ready needs a resurrection. He's made just 34.5 percent from the field since his return to the lineup, averaging just 7.0 points, 4.9 assists, 3.3 boards, 2.6 turnovers and 0.0 treys. What's more, Stephenson is made just 15.2 percent from beyond three feet in that span. There is upside, but it's too hard to start him right now.
Jan 29 - 1:25 AM

Zach LaVine had his best game of 2015 against the Celtics on Wednesday, making 7-of-9 from the field for 17 points with four rebounds, six assists, three steals and one 3-pointer.

He was in complete control in his 22nd NBA start. LaVine only made 39.0 percent from the field in his previous starts, so this efficient line comes as a huge surprise. Mo Williams (personal, hip) and Ricky Rubio (ankle) should be back soon, so it's hard to grab LaVine in standard leagues as anything more than a stop-gap guy.
Jan 29 - 12:54 AM

Kevin Martin returned from a wrist injury on Wednesday against the Celtics, scoring 21 points with four rebounds, one assist and two 3-pointers in 29 minutes.

He was better than expected and really turned it on after a slow start tonight. Martin was on fire before his injury with a 37-point game in his last outing and a 34-point one before that, so he should be owned in all leagues following this game. Although, his fantasy owners should consider selling high once he solidifies his value.
Jan 29 - 12:35 AM

Josh Smith racked up 18 points, six rebounds, two assists, a steal, three blocks and four 3-pointers on 7-of-13 shooting in Wednesday's win over the Mavs.

As an added bonus, he didn't attempt any free throws, which means he didn't hurt you there. Normally, we'd say it's time to hit the phones and deal Smith before he comes down to earth, but with Dwight Howard no iffy going forward with edema in his right knee (fluid buildup), Smith could be ready to go on a nice run. Just don't expect him to be this good on most nights.
Jan 29 - 12:29 AM

Terrence Jones finally returned from his leg injury on Wednesday and had 10 points, five rebounds and two blocks in 21 minutes.

He hit 4-of-8 shots and a 3-pointer, and while we've not been high on him, the news of Dwight Howard's edema in his right knee changes things. Jones could see some serious run if Howard is going to miss time, so we now like the idea of taking a flier on him. He could be forced into heavy action for an extended period of time if Howard is going to be shelved.
Jan 29 - 12:26 AM

An MRI revealed Dwight Howard (knee, ankle) has a fluid buildup in his right knee and he will miss at least the next two games.

He was already out for tonight with a right ankle sprain, so another injury to his right leg is worrisome. Howard also missed 11 games earlier this season with a right knee injury, which was never confirmed by an MRI by the team. In other words, this injury is either worse or the Rockets are just sharing more information. Whatever it is, it sounds like he's going to miss time. Terrence Jones should be picked up in all leagues following a nice start.
Jan 28 - 11:55 PM

Jusuf Nurkic looked good against the Pelicans on Wednesday with 15 points, nine rebounds, one steal and two blocks in 29 minutes.

It was only a matter of time before he got it going again, and that time has come. Nurkic is coming off a nice game against the Clippers on Monday and he's back in coach Brian Shaw's good graces. The rookie should be owned in all leagues because he'll flirt with top-50 value in just 22 minutes per game.
Jan 28 - 11:41 PM

Carmelo Anthony (rest) is questionable to play against the Pacers on Thursday.

This news was expected because Melo is not going to play on most back-to-back sets. He played well on Wednesday in a win over the Thunder, scoring 31 points with 10 rebounds, three assists, two steals and one block in 38 minutes. His owners will want to bench him for Thursday while Lance Thomas, Tim Hardaway Jr. and Langston Galloway will play more.
