Tim Duncan (knee) and Manu Ginobili (hamstring) will not play against the Nets on Sunday.

This shouldn't come as a surprise and there's really no way Gregg Popovich will put his aged veterans on the court at less than 100 percent in the regular season. Tiago Splitter should continue his run as a must-start guy while Danny Green has also been ripping it up from downtown. Manu and Duncan owners will probably want to consider benching them for the upcoming week.

Ricky Rubio, Rodney Hood, Joe Ingles, Derrick Favors and Rudy Gobert will start against the Nuggets on Wednesday.

Oct 18 - 8:23 PM

Chris Paul (left knee) will not play against the Kings on Wednesday.

This isn't a surprise on a back-to-back set as Paul deals with his sore knee and perhaps a shoulder issue. He wasn't looking for his shot much on Tuesday night and his defense wasn't up to par either. With CP3 out, James Harden figures to handle the ball a ton while Eric Gordon looks to build off a big opener.
Oct 18 - 8:20 PM

Greg Monroe (face) is headed to the locker room.

Monroe got hit in the face and after being briefly checked out on the bench, he went back to the locker room with some trainers. While there was some blood, it didn't look like anything all that serious, and we should have another update soon.
Oct 18 - 8:05 PM

Jason Smith (sprained right shoulder) is questionable to return on Wednesday.

Washington is already missing Markieff Morris, so Mike Scott could get a lot of run if Smith isn't able to return.
Oct 18 - 7:45 PM

Anthony Davis has strep throat and head coach Alvin Gentry said that he'll be monitoring AD's minutes for Wednesday's season opener against Memphis.

He's yet to actually play in a regular-season game, and already, The Brow is working with a potential minutes limit. For what it's worth, Davis said he wants to play his normal minutes, but the decision will ultimately be up to Gentry, and there's no reason to push things this early on. Season-long owners shouldn't hesitate to get AD active, but this report makes him somewhat less desirable in DFS.
Oct 18 - 7:42 PM

Stanley Johnson will start in Wednesday's season opener against the Hornets.

Joining him in the starting five will be Reggie Jackson, Avery Bradley, Tobias Harris and Andre Drummond. Stan Van Gundy has hinted that he'll be mixing and matching his starting five all year long, so while Johnson will get the call tonight, he could be replaced in the coming days based on the matchup.
Oct 18 - 7:08 PM

Jrue Holiday, E'Twaun Moore, Dante Cunningham, Anthony Davis and DeMarcus Cousins will start Wednesday vs. Memphis.

With Holiday shifting back over to point guard while Rajon Rondo (hernia) is out, Moore looks like the starting shooting guard moving forward, although that doesn't mean much in fantasy hoops. Holiday, Davis and Cousins will take the lion's share of touches on offense, so Moore and Cunningham will have a tough time putting up enough stats to make an impact in 12-team formats.
Oct 18 - 6:57 PM

Victor Oladipo will be in the starting lineup for Wednesday's game against the Nets, as expected.

The Pacers will go with the same starting five that they used throughout the preseason, feautring Darren Collison, Oladipo, Bojan Bogdanovic, Thaddeus Young and Myles Turner. Oladipo is primed for a bounce-back year with Russell Westbrook no longer around to dominate the rock, and Turner figures to churn out career numbers as the new face of the franchise in Indiana. Make sure you have these guys active.
Oct 18 - 6:36 PM

Goran Dragic, Dion Waiters, Josh Richardson, Kelly Olynyk and Hassan Whiteside will start against the Magic on Wednesday.

It's no surprise here as coach Erik Spoelstra wants to keep James Johnson and Tyler Johnson in the second unit. Richardson has handled the ball more than usual, and he's also said he's looking to lead NBA wings in blocks this year. His fantasy owners will be hoping he can build off his big preseason for a career year. Get him in all of your season-long lineups.
Oct 18 - 6:22 PM

Gordon Hayward has officially been diagnosed with a dislocated and fractured left tibia and he will have surgery on Wednesday.

Head coach Brad Stevens wouldn't speculate if this will be a season-ending injury for Hayward, but we should have an official timetable once he goes under the knife. Marcus Smart will move into the starting five with Hayward on the sidelines, and there will be more minutes for guys like Jaylen Brown, Jayson Tatum, Marcus Morris, Terry Rozier and even Abdel Nader, while Kyrie Irving will be tasked with the heavy lifting on offense. Hayward is cut-candidate in leagues without an IR-spot.
Oct 18 - 6:07 PM

Zach Randolph (oral surgery) will not play against the Rockets on Wednesday.

Coach Dave Joerger won't have his old Memphis big man shooting 3-pointers in this opener. With Randolph out, Willie Cauley-Stein could play slightly more while Skal Labissiere, Georgios Papagiannis and Kosta Koufos could step up.
