Jason Richardson will have knee surgery on Thursday, with an expected rehabilitation of 9-12 months.

J-Rich will be on crutches for six weeks after the surgery and it's anyone's guess how much he'll contribute next season. He is under contract for $6.2 million in 2013-14, with a $6.6 million player option the following year.

Bradley Beal (leg) will not suit up for Friday's game vs. the 76ers.

Feb 27 - 12:08 PM

Patrick Beverley (illness) went through the Rockets' shootaround, but he remains questionable for Friday's game vs. Brooklyn.

We'll be monitoring Beverley's status closely, but if he's forced to sit on Friday, Jason Terry and Pablo Prigioni would pick up most of his minutes. Terry has picked up a majority of Beverley's playing time over the past two games, but with averages of 8.5 points, 2.0 assists, 2.5 steals, and 2.5 three-pointers during that span, his value is limited to deeper leagues.
Feb 27 - 11:58 AM

James Harden (ankle) was able to go through shootaround, but he remains questionable for Friday's game vs. the Nets.

We'll continue to monitor this situation closely, but if he's unable to go, Corey Brewer would likely slide into the starting lineup with Pablo Prigioni and K.J. McDaniels having the opportunity for extended minutes. As for the offense, Trevor Ariza, Josh Smith, Terrence Jones, and Donatas Motiejunas would all be asked to step up, and each of those guys would serve as quality plug-and-play options in daily leagues. Stay tuned.
Feb 27 - 11:52 AM

Derrick Rose underwent a meniscectomy on Friday morning, and he is expected to make a full recovery in 4-6 weeks.

Rose is full-weight bearing after undergoing the procedure, and he was able to walk out of the hospital. Rookie Doug McDermott had a similar procedure earlier in the year, and he was able to return to practice in 4 weeks, so things appear to be moving in a positive direction. However, given that Rose tends to be on the long-end of his recovery timetable, his fantasy season is likely over, and owners fighting for a playoff spot in re-draft leagues should probably consider dropping him at this point. Aaron Brooks will be the primary beneficiary with Rose sidelined.
Feb 27 - 11:34 AM

Pau Gasol is sick and was unable to complete Friday morning's shootaround.

We'll be considering Gasol questionable for Friday's game vs. the Timberwolves, and if he's unable to go, Taj Gibson would likely slide into the starting lineup with Nikola Mirotic seeing extended minutes off the bench. Both Gibson and Mirotic would make for quality plug-and-play options in daily leagues if Gasol is indeed ruled out for Friday's game. Stay tuned.
Feb 27 - 11:16 AM

The Bulls have reportedly had preliminary discussions with representatives for Nate Robinson, Mikes James, and Jannero Pargo.

With Derrick Rose (knee) looking at an extended (and possibly season-long) absence, it appears Chicago would like to add another guard to their backcourt. However, with Kirk Hinrich and Aaron Brooks already on the roster, it's unlikely any of these players being discussed would be able to carve out a role significant enough to matter in standard fantasy leagues. We'll be monitoring this situation closely, but for now it's safe to leave Robinson, James, and Pargo on the waiver wire.
Feb 27 - 11:09 AM

Aaron Gordon (ankle) has been ruled out for Friday's game vs. the Hawks.

With Gordon sidelined, Channing Frye will see a healthy heaping of minutes. However, with season averages of just 7.6 points, 4.1 rebounds and 1.9 three-pointers per game, Frye can't be viewed as anything more than a 3-point specialist in very deep leagues.
Feb 27 - 10:39 AM

Shane Larkin (illness) is a go for Friday's game vs. the Pistons.

With Jose Calderon (Achilles) on the shelf, Larkin will have an opportunity to slide into the starting lineup tonight. However, with season averages of just 5.6 points, 3.1 assists, and 1.3 steal on 39.2 percent shooting as a starter, he's not a great option in most leagues.
Feb 27 - 10:14 AM

According to Brian Windhorst of ESPN.com, the Cavs are officially out of the running for Ray Allen.

"Ray Allen is not going to sign with the Cavs," said Windhort. "I don't think he's going to play. If he decides he wants to, it won't be with the Cavs." Wherever Allen decides to play this season, or if he decides to play this season, should be of no concern to owners in standard leagues, as he's not going to be anything more than an end-of-the-bench kind of guy on a contending roster. The Hawks, Wizards, Warriors, and Spurs remain in the conversation for Allen’s services.
Feb 27 - 10:04 AM

Bismack Biyombo (knee) participated in Thursday's practice, and he is targeting a return for either Friday's game vs. Boston or Sunday's game vs. Orlando.

Biyombo isn't a major piece of the Hornets' rotation, and with season averages of 3.4 points, 5.2 rebounds, and 1.3 blocks per game as a reserve he can't be viewed as anything more than a shot-blocking specialist in very deep leagues. However, when Biyombo is able to return to the lineup, he'll likely take away most of Jason Maxiell's minutes, rendering him a negligible option in all leagues.
Feb 27 - 9:37 AM

Alex Len double-doubled with 12 points and 11 rebounds in Thursday's overtime win over the Thunder, adding one assist and three blocks in a career-high 38 minutes.

Len has come a long way since the beginning of the season, and he has arguably been one of the hottest commodities in fantasy since the All-Star break with averages of 9.4 points, 10.8 boards and 3.4 blocks in 32 minutes per game over his last five. His ankle injury looks like a thing of the past, and as long as Len stays healthy his owners are going to be in for a fantastic finish to the season.
