Jared Sullinger had two herniated discs in his back before undergoing season-ending surgery.

There's the "red flag" teams were identifying on Jared Sullinger's back prior to his being drafted in 2012. The surgery is expected to fix Sullinger's back issues for the duration of his career, and it should actually improve his vertical lift as well. He's expected to be ready for training camp next season.

Ty Lawson (illness) is questionable to face the Nets on Wednesday night.

He is dealing with a stomach bug and is likely going to be a game-time call. This game has a very late start time at 10:30 EST, so we likely won't have anything definitive until around 9:00. If Lawson is out, that means Darren Collison won't have a backup and would get huge minutes. Arron Afflalo did log some backup PG minutes the last time Lawson was out, but he's still not a fantasy option. Collison is already a very strong play, so Lawson being questionable is just an added bonus.
Mar 1 - 3:50 PM

Joel Embiid (knee) has been ruled out for rest of the season.

"The assessment of Monday's follow-up MRI of Joel Embiid's left knee appears to reveal that the area affected by the bone bruise has improved significantly, while the previously identified meniscus tear appears more pronounced in this most recent scan," 76ers Chief Medical Director Jonathan Glashow said. The 76ers will continue to work with specialists on Embiid's knee while the team continues to talk about his long-term health. With Embiid out, Jahlil Okafor and Richaun Holmes will see minutes at center and have some value in standard leagues. Dario Saric and Robert Covington have also stepped up.

Jameer Nelson (illness) is expected to be a game-time decision to face the Bucks on Wednesday.

He played 30 minutes on on Tuesday and looked fine with 12 points. Denver would certainly miss Nelson based on his play in his last five, averaging 12.0 points, 3.4 boards, 5.6 assists, 1.6 steals and 1.8 treys in 29.6 minutes. If he can't go, Emmanuel Mudiay would be in the rotation while Jamal Murray could get close to 30 minutes. Murray would be an attractive DFS play, especially with a lack of value PGs tonight.
Mar 1 - 2:19 PM

Coach Dave Joerger said Skal Labissiere is closer to getting some consistent minutes.

Excluding the garbage time minutes from Saturday, Labissiere has been hanging in the low teens for minutes since the trade deadline. The Kings are using Kosta Koufos and Anthony Tolliver slightly more than expected, but that may change once the Kings fall out of the playoff race. Labissiere is someone to watch in deep leagues, but he still isn't stuffing the stat sheet outside of points and boards to add in standard leagues yet.
Mar 1 - 2:14 PM

Arron Afflalo (hamstring) is probable to play Wednesday vs. the Nets.

Afflalo has spent the past three games on the sidelines, but it sounds like he'll get back out there tonight. Afflalo has no fantasy value, but his return to action could cut into Buddy Hield and Ben McLemore's minutes.
Mar 1 - 1:37 PM

Deron Williams will make his Cleveland debut on Wednesday vs. Boston.

"Deron is going to have to run the offense and get us into some of our sets and pick up things quickly, which I know he can," Cavs coach Ty Lue said. "So, just having him here just to sustain leads when we get leads and having that veteran leadership on the floor is going to be big for us." Williams will have a limited role behind Kyrie Irving, so he won't be making an impact in most fantasy leagues now that he's playing for the Cavs.

Anthony Davis implied that Jrue Holiday will take on a more active role on offense with DeMarcus Cousins (suspension) unavailable for Wednesday's game against the Pistons.

Holiday has struggled to adjust to playing alongside both Cousins and Davis, but with Cousins (and his massive usage rate) set to watch Wednesday's game from the sidelines, Holiday will be the clear-cut No. 2 option on offense and he could have a big game against one of the worst teams in the league at defending the point guard position. Holiday is certainly on the DFS radar tonight.
Mar 1 - 12:51 PM

Wesley Matthews is getting diagnostic testing done on his injured hip in Dallas on Wednesday.

Matthews obviously won't be playing Wednesday vs. the Hawks, but it's worth noting that Rick Carlisle said he doesn't believe Matthews' injury is all that serious, so these tests seem more precautionary than anything else. For now, we'll be considering Matthews questionable for Friday's game against the Grizzlies. Dorian Finney-Smith will draw the start in his place tonight, and it'll be Seth Curry, Harrison Barnes and Dirk Nowitzki running the show on offense.
Mar 1 - 12:22 PM

Dorian Finney-Smith will move back into the starting lineup for Wednesday's game against the Hawks, with Wesley Matthews (hip) unavailable.

Head coach Rick Carlisle said he was planning on bringing Nerlens Noel into the starting five, but Noel was late for their flight to Atlanta, so he'll go with Finney-Smith instead. With Matthews out tonight, Seth Curry, Harrison Barnes and Dirk Nowitzki will all see a usage bump, and those three guys are much more attractive targets than Finney-Smith. Noel will lose his opportunity to start as a punishment, but he's still expected to get out there.
Mar 1 - 12:07 PM

Willie Reed (ankle) will not suit up for Wednesday's game against the 76ers.

"He's making progress. He's getting better," said head coach Erik Spoelstra of Reed, "but not ready for the court yet." This will be Reed's second straight game on the sidelines, and given that he was only able to ride a stationary bike during Wednesday morning's shootaround, we're going to consider him doubtful for Friday's game in Orlando until we hear otherwise. Hassan Whiteside and James Johnson will pick up some extra minutes with Reed out tonight.
Mar 1 - 11:50 AM

Willy Hernangomez (ankle) will not suit up for Wednesday's game against the Magic.

Hernangomez was doubtful heading into this one, so it's not very surprising at all to see him ruled out. The Knicks play again on Friday in Philadelphia, and for now, we'll be considering him questionable for that one. With Hernangomez out, Kyle O'Quinn will draw the start, and Marshall Plumlee could see some limited minutes off the bench. O'Quinn is the guy you want to target sans Willy.
