Mike Woodson reportedly "ripped" J.R. Smith after Wednesday's loss to the Pacers, and Smith's "act is starting to wear thin on the Knicks' coaching staff."

Uh oh. Woodson has been Smith's biggest fan, so if he's starting to grow frustrated, it's not a good sign. "I'm not happy about how we we carried ourselves professionally on the basketball court," Woodson said when asked about Smith's ejection against the Pacers. Smith also reportedly exchanged words with assistant coach Herb Williams. Smith is averaging 15.4 points, 4.1 rebounds, 0.9 steals and 3.1 3-pointers in 30.5 minutes per game in February.

Josh McRoberts (toe blister) will play Thursday vs. the Clippers.

Nov 20 - 6:31 PM

Luol Deng will start Thursday vs. the Clippers, and Danny Granger will head to the bench.

Deng will have some increased opportunity tonight with Dwyane Wade (hamstring) sidelined, so get him active. Deng is averaging 14.3 points, 4.1 rebounds, 1.5 steals, and 1.3 three-pointers on the year, and has a favorable matchup vs. the Clippers.
Nov 20 - 6:26 PM

Marcus Smart (ankle) said that he doubts he'll play Sunday, and he remains without a definitive return date.

"I couldn’t really tell you [an expected return date]. It just depends," Smart said. "One day my body feels good, probably one day it doesn’t. I’ve got to listen to my body." Smart was able to do some straight-line movement during Thursday's practice, but still is unable to do anything side-to-side. He may be able resume practicing next week, and after Sunday's game vs. Portland the Celtics don't play again until Friday, Nov. 28. We'll consider Smart questionable for that one, and we'll be monitoring his status closely. However, with averages of just 6.8 points, 1.2 assists, and 1.2 steals, he’s not a viable option in standard leagues.
Nov 20 - 6:23 PM

Giannis Antetokounmpo (ankle) is being listed as questionable for Friday's game vs. the Raptors.

Giannis sprained his ankle during the second overtime of Wednesday's triple OT win over the Nets, but managed to play through it. If The Greek Freak is unable to go, Khris Middleton and O.J. Mayo would be the primary beneficiaries of his absence, with Mayo offering the most upside. Stay tuned for an official update on Giannis' status as we draw closer to Friday's tip.
Nov 20 - 5:24 PM

Rajon Rondo said his ankle was "sore" after rolling it Wednesday night, but he's expected to be fine.

This seems like a very minor thing, and Rondo has been known to play through nicks and bruises. We'll be monitoring Rondo's status leading up to Friday's tip, but it would be quite shocking if he were sidelined for that one. Rondo is currently averaging 10.4 points, 8.0 rebounds, and a league-leading 11.8 assists on the year. So far, the only detriments to his value are his horrid free throw shooting (40 percent), and high turnover rate (4.0 turnovers a game). But as a nightly triple-double threat, owners don't have much to complain about.
Nov 20 - 4:56 PM

DeMarre Carroll (groin) went through a full practice on Thursday, and is being listed as probable for Friday's game vs. the Pistons.

Carroll also said he will play vs. Detroit, so all signs are pointing towards a Friday return. Thabo Sefolosha will head back to the bench upon Carroll's return, and he'll go back to being irrelevant in standard leagues. Stay tuned for an official update on Carroll's status as we draw closer to Friday's tip.
Nov 20 - 4:47 PM

Jason Thompson (quad) is being listed as probable for Thursday's game vs. Chicago.

Thompson is averaging just 4.3 points and 6.3 rebounds as a starter for the Kings, and he's faced with a very difficult matchup today against an imposing Chicago frontcourt. So whether he plays tonight should be of little concern to owners in standard leagues. However, if Thompson does sit this one out Carl Landry would be in line for some increased minutes, but given Sacramento's opponent, neither player makes for a very attractive option.
Nov 20 - 4:18 PM

DeMarcus Cousins (hip) is being listed as probable for Thursday's game vs. the Bulls.

Cousins' injury seems very minor, and he was able to put up 24 points and 17 rebounds during his last outing, despite tweaking his left hip flexor during Tuesday's warmups. Stay tuned for an official update as we draw closer to Thursday's tip, but things are looking positive for Sacramento's primary offensive weapon.
Nov 20 - 4:12 PM

Rudy Gay (Achilles) is being listed as probable for Thursday's game vs. the Bulls.

Gay hasn't missed a game yet with his Achilles tendinitis, so we're going to say he's very likely to play in this one. Still, owners will want to check back for an official update as we draw closer to Thursday's tip. If Gay is unable to go, Omri Casspi would likely pick up a majority of his minutes at small forward. Stay tuned.
Nov 20 - 4:07 PM

Nicolas Batum (knee) was spotted doing shooting drills after Thursday's practice, and was not wearing a brace on his injured right knee.

Batum is targeting a return for Friday's game vs. the Bulls, and all signs are pointing towards him giving it a go. Stay tuned for an official update on his status as we draw closer to Friday's tip. When Batum returns, Allen Crabbe will head back to the bench.
Nov 20 - 3:52 PM

Dwight Howard (knee) did not practice on Thursday, and is being listed as day-to-day.

While Howard is out Tarik Black and Donatas Motiejunas will get all the minutes they can handle, with Kostas Papanikolaou seeing some extended run off the bench. None of those guys make for a great pickup in standard leagues, but they could be nice low-budget options in FanDuel if Howard and Terrence Jones are unable to go on Saturday. Stay tuned.
