Brandon Knight (knee) is a game-time decision on Friday.

Knight went through shootaround and is going through his "normal routine" before the game, so that is seemingly an indication that he's preparing to play. However, the team could hold him out as a precaution, so it's too early to tell at this point. if he does sit, Will Bynum and Rodney Stuckey would each see a boost.

Matt Barnes (abdomen) said he will play against the Jazz on Wednesday.

Back on Sunday, Barnes had a wrap around his waist during warmups. This wasn't reported by the team until he aggravated it on Monday. He should get minutes as long as he's able to play, so give him a look in standard leagues. Plus, this should be an up-tempo game.
Jan 28 - 3:41 PM

Tayshaun Prince said he would rather play with a contender than with the Celtics, according to the Boston Herald.

"Obviously I want to be in a winning situation," Prince said. "Everybody wants to be in a winning situation, make no mistake about it, especially toward the end of your career." He has been playing well with his new team and even played 30 minutes on Monday. Once Prince departs, it should open up some minutes for Marcus Smart, Evan Turner and Jae Crowder.
Jan 28 - 3:05 PM

Coach Jeff Hornacek said he will not have a "hard-and-fast rule" but he "may still sit [a player who picks up a technical foul] for the end of the game."

"We're just going to try to do a better job as teammates to corral each other when they start to argue," Hornacek said. "The guys [said] they would do that." The Suns lead the NBA in technical fouls and Markieff Morris was benched for almost the entire second half for his 10th technical of the season on Sunday. Goran Dragic was also benched last week for a tech. Fantasy owners should know there is some risk in starting the Morrii Twins or anyone else.
Jan 28 - 2:57 PM

Nick Young (ankle) missed practice on Wednesday night.

He has a moderate ankle sprain and missed Tuesday's game against the Wizards. The Lakers seem to be committed to their young guys, so don't expect Young to play at less than 100 percent. Wayne Ellington and Jordan Clarkson are both worth a look.
Jan 28 - 2:47 PM

Paul Pierce (toe) is questionable to play against the Suns on Wednesday.

This is the late game of the day, so we probably won't be getting news on Pierce until around 9:00 EST. Pierce missed Tuesday against the Lakers in an easier matchup, but the Wizards might want to be at full strength on the road. If he's out, Rasual Buter, Otto Porter and Bradley Beal would benefit.
Jan 28 - 2:44 PM

Jose Calderon (knee) is questionable to play against the Thunder on Wednesday.

He is a little closer to doubtful to play after a knee injury from the weekend. Calderon has really struggled on both ends and the team might not want to put him at the mercy of Russell Westbrook. Fantasy owners can plan on him sitting while Langston Galloway figures to start again.
Jan 28 - 2:35 PM

Kevin Martin (wrist) is expected to make his return to the lineup against the Celtics on Wednesday.

He's not a complete lock because the team will want to see how he performs in pre-game workouts, and he's technically questionable to play. Most signs do point to him playing despite an earlier report today. Martin has been doing a lot of non-contact work and missed some practice over the weekend. He's someone worth grabbing in standard leagues. Meanwhile, it should be interesting to see what happens with the other starters. Andrew Wiggins may slide to the small forward spot, which would bump Gorgui Dieng or Thaddeus Young from the starting unit.
Jan 28 - 2:17 PM

C.J. Miles (groin) is questionable for Wednesday's game vs. the Knicks.

He got a chance to rest on Tuesday against the Raptors but his status likely won't be determined until closer to tip-off. If Miles is forced to sit again, expect Rodney Stuckey to be the primary beneficiary, with C.J. Watson and Damjan Rudez picking up some additional minutes as well.
Jan 28 - 1:47 PM

JaVale McGee (leg) will return either Wednesday night vs. the Pelicans, or thursday night vs. the Grizzlies.

Considering that he has missed 23 straight games, the Nuggets will likely bring him along very slowly so there is no need to consider adding him in most leagues. Owners in deep leagues should use a wait-and-see approach here unless they are desperate for blocks.
Jan 28 - 1:39 PM

Evan Turner (thumb) said that his thumb has improved and that he will play vs. Minnesota.

X-rays taken on his thumb were negative so this news confirms that the coast is clear for Turner. He has been solid since being named the starting point guard in Boston, and while he is much better in points formats, he's still worth owing in most leagues.
Jan 28 - 1:33 PM

Mo Williams (personal) will not play on Wednesday against the Celtics, but will join up with the team on Thursday.

He has also been battling a hip injury, so Williams probably wouldn't have been able to play anyways. With Ricky Rubio (ankle) still sidelined, rookie Zach LaVine will likely step into the starting lineup while newly acquired Lorenzo Brown could see some action as well. However, neither LaVine or Brown are reliable enough to use outside of deeper leagues, so feel free to leave them on the wire.
