Wesley Matthews (ankle) will play in Friday's game against the Lakers.

This is great news for the Blazers and they really need his presence for spacing on offense. Wes did say he suffered a high-ankle sprain last week, so there's a very good chance he's not close to 100 percent. His toughness has made him one of the easiest players to root for in the NBA.

Dion Waiters helped the Heat defeat the streaking Celtics on Wednesday with 26 points on 11-of-24 shooting, four 3-pointers, six assists and two rebounds.

Waiters went scoreless on 0-of-10 shooting on Sunday, so he was due for a makeup game offensively. He committed just one turnover in 36 minutes tonight, and even knocked down a series of clutch jumpers to fend off a late run by Boston. Despite the heroics tonight, Waiters is still outside the top-150 in category-based leagues.
Nov 22 - 11:12 PM

The Celtics' 16-game win streak came to an end in Miami on Wednesday, despite Kyrie Irving's team-high 23 points, three assists and three steals.

Irving made 11-of-22 field goals but missed his 3-point attempts and was an uncharacteristic 1-of-4 at the free throw line. Boston was out-rebounded (48-37) and they gave up 52 points in the paint, and their patented late-game rally came up short tonight. This doesn't impact Kyrie's solid fantasy outing, of course, and Boston will look to start a new win streak vs. Orlando on Friday.
Nov 22 - 11:11 PM

Blake Griffin posted his first triple-double of the season to snap a nine-game losing streak in a 116-103 win over the Hawks on Wednesday, scoring 26 points with 10 rebounds, 10 assists, one steal and three 3-pointers.

Finally. The Clippers have been destroyed this month with only one November win before today and Griffin's stats have been a letdown. In his previous November games, he averaged just 22.3 points, 7.4 boards, 4.9 assists, 1.1 steals and 1.9 treys on 38.2 percent from the field. Before his owners get too excited, this did come against the Hawks and rookie John Collins. Griffin's fantasy owners should be rooting for wins this year to give him more incentive to play late in the season.
Nov 22 - 10:49 PM

Jeremy Lamb started the second half of Wednesday's game for Nic Batum (elbow), posting 24 points (9-of-17 FGs, 3-of-3 FTs) with seven rebounds, five assists, three blocks and three 3-pointers.

Lamb worked over Kelly Oubre on offense, and he would be in line for big minutes if Batum misses any games. Batum exited tonight's game with a 'contusion', but it's the same elbow he tore a ligament in this summer, so Charlotte will be extra cautious here. It makes sense to add Lamb while we await an update from the Hornets.
Nov 22 - 10:43 PM

Lou Williams made his first start of the season for 20 points with one rebound, eight assists, one steal, six turnovers and three 3-pointers in 37 minutes against the Hawks on Wednesday.

He and DeAndre Jordan have shown a good rapport together and maybe that's why Williams moved into the starting lineup. Even if coach Doc Rivers does play the matchups with Lou as a starter, he's now looking at minutes in the low 30s and he should be asked to score the ball a bunch on a team that lacks perimeter scoring. The move to the starting lineup could also help his dimes with a season high tonight. His fantasy owners can expect him to flirt with top-50 value now that Patrick Beverley (knee) is out for the season.
Nov 22 - 10:43 PM

The Hornets extended their win streak to three games on Wednesday, with Dwight Howard chipping in 26 points, 13 rebounds, three assists and one block.

The Wizards have been a tough matchup for centers but they are give up 10.4 offensive boards per game, so it wasn't surprising to see Dwight snag five on the offensive end. He was coming off a monster 25-point, 20-rebound game and is simply cruising as we head into the holiday season.
Nov 22 - 10:42 PM

John Wall notched 31 points, 11 assists, one rebound, one steal and one block during an OT load loss on Wednesday, making 13-of-26 FGs and 5-of-6 FTs in 41 minutes.

Wall is playing a lot of isolation sets offensively this year, which is one reason his FG percentage has dipped to 42.8%, so it was nice to see him make half his attempts tonight. The best news for fantasy owners is that Wall's recent knee swelling doesn't seem like a lingering issue, and he gets a few days to rest before hosting the Blazers on Saturday.
Nov 22 - 10:40 PM

Wes Johnson made 8-of-10 from the field and both free throws for 24 points against the Hawks on Wednesday, adding one rebound, one assist, one steal, one block and six 3-pointers in 36 minutes.

No turnovers here gives him 2.2 points per possession used and a 110.3 TS% for one of the most efficient games of the year. The Clippers didn't run out as many three-guard lineups with Lou Williams in the first unit, they're going to miss Patrick Beverley (knee) for the rest of the season, and Danilo Gallinari (glute) for at least another 5-8 days. Johnson has been sneaky in nine-category leagues and he may have value in deeper formats until Gallo gets back. This new rotation wrinkle could also help him, but try not to overreact to this big line unless he was already on your short list.
Nov 22 - 10:38 PM

Joel Embiid smashed the Blazers' frontcourt on Wednesday for 28 points (11-of-19 FGs, 5-of-5 FTs), 12 rebounds, two blocks and one assist.

Embiid also made a 3-pointer and he did his work in just 30 minutes, with neither Jusuf Nurkic nor Ed Davis able to slow him down. He has been dealing with some left knee soreness recently, so it can't hurt to double-check his status prior to Saturday's game, but he's not on the injury report.
Nov 22 - 10:19 PM

Evan Turner started the third quarter on Wednesday and finished with four points, four boards, three assists and two steals in 34 minutes, making 2-of-7 FGs without any FT attempts.

Portland mustered just 37 points in the first half tonight, so Turner was promoted to generate some easy looks. It didn't make much difference and the Blazers lost by 20 points. Shabazz Napier's emergence has threatened his touches as a backup ball-handler, and the return of Al-Farouq Aminu could result in a logjam on the wings. In any case, the streaky Turner has been a liability outside of deep leagues.
Nov 22 - 10:17 PM

Damian Lillard played through his right ankle injury on Wednesday, posting 30 points with six 3-pointers, three rebounds, two assists, one steal and one block in 37 minutes.

The injury didn't look good when it happened on Monday, but Lillard received treatment every day and said the ankle responded better than he anticipated. He's a gamer who often plays at less than 100 percent, and the playing time tonight proves he'll be fine going forward. He finished 11-of-27 from the field and 2-of-3 from the line.
