Isaiah Thomas exploded for a season-high 30 points on 9-of-18 shooting (4-of-6 from deep, 8-of-9 from the line) with six rebounds and nine assists over 37 minutes in Friday's loss to the Hawks.

When asked how IT played after the game, Keith Smart dismissively said "he played okay," and mid-sentence talked about how the Kings gave 50 points up in the paint. Thomas had nothing to do with that, and it's pretty clear that Smart just has something against point guards. It's sort of sad to see that the Kings could have given Thomas the ball last year and put their fans through a lot less misery -- but then again, that was probably part of the ownership's plan. Cousins went for 26 and 13 in the loss.

Dion Waiters has agreed to a one-year deal with the Heat.

It's only worth $2.9 million, so Waiters wasn't anywhere near the $18 million per season he wanted. Waiters should get plenty of minutes with the Heat and could actually start over Josh Richardson. Waiters hasn't shot the ball well in his career, making just 41.1 percent with a downward trend. He'd only be worthy of a late-round pick.

C.J. McCollum and the Trail Blazers have reached agreement on a four-year, $106M contract extension, sources told Adrian Wojnarowski of The Vertical.

Portland has made some questionable moves this offseason, but this certainly is not one of them. McCollum, who will be just 25 in September, averaged career-high marks across the board in what can only be described as a breakout 2015-16 season. Now, there will be no questioning what his future looks like with the Blazers, and the team will push forward in its rebuild with McCollum and Damian Lillard at the helm. McCollum, who averaged 20.8 points, 2.5 3PM and 1.2 steals on 44.8 percent shooting last season, could be in line to improve upon those numbers in his second full go-around as the unquestioned starting shooting guard. Per Wojnarowski, the deal will not include any options or trade kickers.

Kris Dunn (concussion) has received medical clearance to resume basketball activities.

Dunn has been sidelined for two weeks while dealing with the concussion, but now the rookie can get back on the floor. We'd be a lot more excited about Dunn's fantasy potential if (when?) Ricky Rubio is traded.

Victor Oladipo implied that he's prepared to take his game to the next level with the Thunder.

"I feel like you’re going to see a lot more from me; I don’t think I’ve even scratched the surface of how good I really can be," Oladipo said. "I’m getting better every day and I’m looking forward to [showing] it. I can still grow way, way more." Without Kevin Durant in the picture, the opportunity for Oladipo to show out alongside Russell Westbrook is certainly there. We wouldn't be afraid to "reach" for him in upcoming fantasy drafts.

In an interview with NBCDFW.com, Deron Williams (sports hernia) said that he will be ready in time for training camp.

"Feeling really good. It's healing pretty well, I'm doing a lot of work on and off the court. I haven't got the full-go clearance yet but that's coming soon," Williams said. "I'll be ready to go definitely by the time training camp rolls around." He added that he's already jumping and running, and said that his next checkup is August 1st. Williams re-signed with the Mavs on a one-year, $10 million deal and should be team's starting point guard once again. However, he's more of a late-round pick after averaging 14.1 points on 41.1 percent shooting with 5.8 assists, 2.9 rebounds, 1.5 treys, 0.9 steals and 2.4 turnovers per game last season.

Meyers Leonard (shoulder surgery) said that he's hoping to be ready around the start of the 2016-17 season.

"It's a progression, first introducing rebounding, grabbing stuff overhead, then one-on-one, three-on-three, extending to the full court," Leonard said. "We'll see. You just never know." The Blazers won't be in a hurry to rush him back after re-signing him to a four-year deal worth $41 million, and most players tend to be a little too optimistic about timetables anyways. If the Blazers re-sign Moe Harkless, Leonard's outlook for the 2016-17 campaign won't be great with Al-Farouq Aminu expected to play more power forward.

Gerald Green has reportedly agreed to a one-year deal for the veteran's minimum with the Celtics.

Once Green signs, they will have 14 guaranteed contracts on their roster. Green is coming off a disappointing season in Miami where he averaged 8.9 points on 39.2 percent shooting. He will likely have a limited role at best in Boston.

Paul George made his return to Team USA action on Friday, scoring 18 points with two rebounds, one assist, two steals and two 3-pointers.

It was his first Team USA televised game since his horrific leg injury. George had a couple breakaway dunks and he justifiably took it easy on those. After the game on NBATV, he did add it was "eerie" for him to get back on the court and said there were a lot of emotions. George looked better than expected last year, especially early in the season. Even with the new players, he's still expected to have a great season with the vast majority of his minutes coming at small forward.

Kevin Durant lit it up against Argentina in a Team USA tune-up on Friday, scoring 23 points with four rebounds, three assists, one steal, two blocks and four 3-pointers.

It still hasn't sunk in yet that he's on the Warriors, has it? Durant was magnificent in this game, making 7-of-12 from the field and all five free throws for a tidy 81.0 true shooting percentage. He did have a tweak to his leg in the second half, but it didn't cost him any playing time. His game is made for fantasy, so expect him to be elite even with a slight dip in usage next year.

Juan Hernangomez is expected to join the Nuggets for the 2016-17 season.

He probably would see a lot more playing time if he stayed in Spain, but the Nuggets saw enough at the summer league to bring him over immediately. He averaged 10.2 points and 8.2 rebounds on 54.5 percent shooting from the field this summer, but he likely won't be a significant part of the rotation right out of the gate because they're loaded at the three and four.

The NBA has officially moved 2017's All-Star Weekend out of Charlotte, North Carolina.

HB2 is the reason for the move, but commissioner Adam Silver is hopeful that by 2019 the league can re-schedule Charlotte as the host of All-Star Weekend. New Orleans is believed to be the current front-runner to land the 2017 All-Star Game, but there's sure to be many teams making their pitches to commissioner Silver. Hornet's Chairman Michael Jordan released a statement following the news, saying that while he is disappointed, he understands the league's decision.
