Steve Nash believes that his current back issue will subside soon.

"I don’t know if I made some sort of movement or if I got hit or something," Nash said. "I had my veterebrae lock up on me and the muscles overcompensated and it created spasms. I don’t have much freedom." Despite the injury, Nash put up 20 points (four triples) with two boards, four assists and a steal in 34 minutes in Sunday's win over Dallas. The Lakers are playing again on Monday, so Nash's back doesn't have much time to rest right now.

Damian Lillard scored 30 points during a 110-95 win over the Knicks on Thursday, adding four rebounds, five assists, two steals and four 3-pointers.

That's seven 30-plus scoring games in March to tie him with James Harden for the most in the NBA this month. Since the break, Lillard averaged 31.1 points, 4.6 boards, 5.6 assists, 1.1 steals and 3.4 treys on 49.5 percent from the field and 90.0 percent from the line. His Blazers are just 1.0 games behind the Nuggets for the No. 8 seed, so this will likely come down to the wire. Lillard has been the No. 2 player for total value in standard leagues since the break.

Coach Rick Carlisle said the Mavs "need" to take an extended look at Seth Curry as a point guard going forward.

Interesting. Curry played mostly the two during a win over the Clippers and he's played a lot of two since his breakout. Curry was not a very good point guard earlier in his career, and the change to the SG is part of the reason he's been so good. Regardless, Curry has a big role coming his way and he should continue to be a must-start player in all formats. Curry turned in a strong Thursday game, scoring 23 points with three rebounds, four assists and three 3-pointers in a win over the Clippers.

DeMar DeRozan scored 40 points during a 101-84 win in Miami on Thursday, adding six rebounds, three assists and one steal in 36 minutes.

He just scored 42 points on Tuesday to make this the first time he's scored 40-plus points in consecutive games in his career. The Raptors have had tremendous success when DeMar drops 40, going 8-0 in those instances. DeRozan did tweak his ankle earlier in the game, but obviously it wasn't affecting him too much. The Raptors are playing solid ball again with a four-game winning streak to put them just 0.5 games behind the third-seeded Wizards.
Mar 23 - 11:20 PM

Delon Wright scored 13 points in a 101-84 win at Miami on Thursday, adding seven rebounds, three assists, two steals and two turnovers in 24 minutes.

The younger Raptors came to the rescue to earn this comeback victory with Wright posting a +26 in +/- today. We've seen Wright play important minutes before and did so against John Wall back on Mar. 3, but he still wasn't able to get consistent run even after his coach talked him up. This is probably only going to be a timeshare for Wright and Cory Joseph, so most fantasy owners may want to steer clear.

Hassan Whiteside rolled his ankle at the end of Thursday's game.

Coach Erik Spoelstra said he doesn't know how severe the ankle injury is, so we'll have to wait on the details. Whiteside had a right ankle injury before the All-Star Game and there's a chance that injury affected him for arguably the worst part of his season. As for this new injury, the schedule helped the Heat out this week because they won't play again until Sunday. Whiteside already was playing with 13 stitches in his hand, finishing with 16 points, 14 rebounds, two assists and two blocks in this loss to the Raptors.
Mar 23 - 10:39 PM

J.J. Barea was ejected for a flagrant 2 foul on Blake Griffin in the third quarter on Thursday.

This was probably one of the worst flagrant 2 fouls of the season. Barea only have Griffin a shove and may have made some contact to his face. He won't be suspended for this one and will be ready for Saturday against the Raptors. Barea finished with five points, three assists and one 3-pointer. He isn't worth owning in most leagues.
Mar 23 - 10:14 PM

Ron Baker, Mindaugas Kuzminskas and Willy Hernangomez will start against the Blazers on Thursday.

The Knicks are extremely shorthanded with Carmelo Anthony (knee), Derrick Rose (foot) and Lance Thomas (hip) not playing. Kuzminskas should be getting some heavy run as the starter, but it's tough to pick him up unless Melo gets ruled out for multiple games. Kristaps Porzingis is going to be doing some serious heavy lifting.
Mar 23 - 9:38 PM

Derrick Jones Jr. (right wrist) is getting X-rays on Thursday.

He had a hard fall on a drive to the basket and came out on the next possession. Jones Jr. had a trainer look at him for a couple minutes before going to the locker room. We should have an update shortly.
Mar 23 - 9:33 PM

Nerlens Noel will start and Yogi Ferrell will come off the bench against the Clippers on Thursday.

The Mavs will go with Noel as a start for just the second time. He blew up for 15 points and 17 boards in his first start, so hopefully coach Rick Carlisle plays him more than his 17 minutes from Tuesday. Get him in your lineup.
Mar 23 - 8:36 PM

Lance Thomas (sore right hip) will not play against the Blazers on Thursday night.

Thomas played 32 minutes in a start on Wednesday and apparently picked up an injury along the way. With Thomas and Carmelo Anthony (knee) out, the Knicks will likely play more Willy Hernangomez and Kyle O'Quinn next to each other. We should see more Mindaugas Kuzminskas and a little bit of Justin Holiday at the three.
Mar 23 - 8:34 PM

Carmelo Anthony (sore left knee) and Derrick Rose (sore right foot) will not play against the Blazers on Thursday.

It will be Melo's second half off this month and his first March DNP was also due to his sore left knee. With the Knicks quickly falling out of the playoff race, the likelihood of Melo missing games goes up each day. With him out, the Knicks will give some big minutes to Mindaugas Kuzminskas while Kristaps Porzingis should be busy.
