Taj Gibson was diagnosed with a sprained MCL in his left knee and he is expected to miss up to two weeks.

He has been an important part of Chicago's frontcourt depth, averaging 28 minutes per game in the month of February. While Carlos Boozer and Joakim Noah are healthy now, Noah's plantar fasciitis will be under a microscope now that he doesn't have a capable backup behind him. Nazr Mohammed could play more and the Bulls have used Jimmy Butler at power forward as well.

Allen Crabbe scored 18 points with five rebounds, three assists and three 3-pointers in 30 minutes against the Jazz on Friday.

NBA Twitter has been hard on Crabbe the previous couple years because he wasn't asked to do much outside of defense and make open treys. However, he had some weapons in his arsenal and carved up folks in Las Vegas a few years ago, so it's really not a surprise he's turning the corner as a guy who can get his own shot. With D'Angelo Russell (knee) out for a while, Crabbe will have plenty of opportunity to produce for owners in all standard leagues.

Buddy Hield (ankle) was helped to the locker room in the fourth quarter and he will not return.

He rolled his right ankle as he was trying to put a move on in transition. Hield didn't put weight on his leg at first, but he did put some weight on it as he was helped to the locker room by two staff members. There's a decent chance he misses time from this injury, which means coach Dave Joerger will increase the minutes for several people in his rotation. Bogdan Bogdanovic and Frank Mason may benefit most.

He's almost certainly done tonight, so expect to see

Anthony Davis went to the locker room on Friday vs. the Nuggets after colliding heads with Nikola Jokic.

He's likely going to be tested for a concussion, but we should have the official word soon. The Pelicans are getting toasted heading into the fourth quarter, so they may be cautious even if Davis is OK.

Denzel Valentine started on Friday vs. the Hornets and scored a season-high 18 points with six assists, five rebounds, one block and four 3-pointers in 32 minutes.

Yeah, there's a good chance Valentine sticks in the first unit. The second-year wing hit 7-of-15 shots and was running the offense quite a bit, helping the Bulls record their third win of the season. Valentine could take a hit when Zach LaVine (knee) returns, but that's not until mid-December and the Bulls need offensive weapons right now. With an awesome matchup coming up against the Suns on Sunday, Valentine is on the radar as a pickup.
Nov 17 - 11:56 PM

Justin Holiday scored a season-high 27 points in Friday's 123-120 win over the Hornets, hitting 10-of-15 shots and 3-of-3 free throws.

He was returning from a one-game absence for personal reasons and finished two points shy of his career-high. Holiday nailed four triples in the win, adding three rebounds, three steals and one block in 36 minutes, Zach LaVine (knee) isn't expected back until mid-December, so there are more good times ahead for Holiday's owners.
Nov 17 - 11:47 PM

Donovan Mitchell made his first NBA start at point guard against the Nets during a 118-107 loss on Friday, scoring 15 points with seven rebounds, eight assists, one steal, one block and one 3-pointer.

Those assists are a career high, but he did struggle as a shooter with his 5-of-15 line from the field. Mitchell continues to just blow right by defenders and he did an excellent job of finding open shooters along the 3-point line. Mitchell has made it abundantly clear since he arrived in Las Vegas that he deserves heavy minutes, and yet he's been better than expected. He should be owned in every league and his owners can worry about his sub-par FG% later.
Nov 17 - 11:39 PM

Kemba Walker scored a season-high 47 points (five short of career-high) on Friday, but the Hornets still fell to the Bulls 123-120.

The Hornets are reeling with six straight losses, and coach Steve Clifford said the team has no identity right now -- the Bulls were dead last in offensive efficiency and still put up 123 points. As for Kemba, he was sensational en route to the second-highest point total of his career, hitting 17-of-27 shots with six rebounds, five assists and five triples. The All-Star PG will try to help the Hornets right the ship on Saturday against a Clippers team that has lost seven straight.
Nov 17 - 11:19 PM

Hassan Whiteside made 10-of-12 from the field for 22 points during a 91-88 win in Washington on Friday, adding 16 rebounds, one assist and two blocks.

He was terrific late in the game as the Wizards almost pulled off a comeback win. After the knee injury derailed his October, Whiteside is on a roll over his last five games with averages of 17.4 points, 15.8 boards, 2.4 blocks and 1.0 steals. He should be around those numbers all season as the team continues to find ways to get him the rock.
Nov 17 - 10:57 PM

Kyle Lowry scored 22 points with 10 assists, eight rebounds and five 3-pointers in an emphatic win over the Knicks on Friday.

He was remarkably efficient, hitting 8-of-12 from the field and 5-of-7 from deep. Lowry's touches have been reduced from 85.0 in 2016-17 to 74.1 in 2017-18, so that could explain why he's only averaging 14.9 points after a career-high 22.4 PPG last season. With Delon Wright (shoulder) out, there's a good chance that Lowry's touches trend up again.
Nov 17 - 10:41 PM

John Wall said fluid in his knee limited him on Friday in 91-88 loss to the Heat, making 3-of-12 from the field for eight points with three rebounds, eight assists and two 3-pointers in 35 minutes.

He started out 0-of-7 in this game and he wasn't shy about what went wrong in the first half. "I could barely move out there. I couldn’t get the team going. It kind of hurt us," Wall said. He revealed he had treatment on his knee earlier this week, and that his status for Sunday depends how his knee feels in the next day or so. He was in a small slump this month, so perhaps this is why. If he's limited, Tim Frazier would start while Bradley Beal would carry the offense.
