Kyrie Irving has been ruled out of Tuesday's game against the Bulls due to his knee injury, and he is also questionable to play on Wednesday as well.

It's a tough blow to weekly owners who were relying on him and daily owners who really don't have a replacement. Kyrie apparently banged his knee in practice prior to the road trip and admitted after the game against the Heat that the injury was bothering him. Dion Waiters will be tasked to do a lot more handling of the ball without Irving, while Shaun Livingston and C.J. Miles should each see more minutes than they otherwise would with Livingston drawing the start at point guard.

Monta Ellis notched his seventh 30-point game of the season on Sunday, pouring in 36 points on 16-of-27 shooting in a narrow road loss to the Pelicans.

In the process, Ellis became the league leader in crunch-time scoring with 94 points in the 'clutch,' as defined by NBA.com. He drained four 3-pointers tonight, with five rebounds, two assists, one steal and only one turnover, and this may have been his most well-rounded line all season. Unlike teammate Chandler Parsons, the arrival of Rajon Rondo hasn't slowed Ellis down a bit.

Tyson Chandler returned from a scary knee injury to finish Sunday's loss in New Orleans with four points, seven rebounds, two assists and three blocks in 33 minutes.

He was carried off the court after knee-on-knee contact, but X-rays were negative and it seems to have been nothing worse than a stinger. Owners should consider him questionable for Tuesday's game as a precaution, while checking for updates over the next few days.
Jan 25 - 9:26 PM

Pacers rookie Damjan Rudez erupted for 16 points in the final quarter on Sunday, finishing with a season-high 18 points on 7-of-10 shooting with four 3-pointers.

He's no Klay Thompson, but this was still an impressive showing from Rudez. He's struggled with his shot all season but is slowly turning the corner, and is worth a look as a 3-point specialist in very deep leagues. His emergence has knocked Chris Copeland out of the Pacers' rotation, and Copeland picked up another DNP-CD on Sunday.
Jan 25 - 9:10 PM

David West scored a team-high 20 points vs. the Magic, hitting 8-of-15 shots with four boards, three assists and two steals in a tough win in Orlando.

This was only West's second 20-point game of the season, though his muted scoring has been compensated for by increased rebounds (7.0), assists (3.3) and steals (0.9) compared to last season. The Pacers have limped through their first 45 games with a ton of injuries to key players, yet they're just four games behind Charlotte for the No. 8 seed.
Jan 25 - 9:06 PM

John Henson left Sunday's game against the Spurs with an ankle injury and is questionable to return.

The Bucks are already pretty thin in their frontcourt thanks to Larry Sanders, so hopefully it's not too serious. We will update Henson's status as soon as we know more, and we would expect Zaza Pachulia to play all the minutes he could handle if Henson were to miss any time.
Jan 25 - 8:58 PM

The Hawks won their 16th consecutive game on Sunday, aided by Al Horford's near-perfect 19 points on 8-of-9 field goals and 3-of-3 free throws.

He also had six rebounds, four assists, one steal, two blocks and one turnover in 31 minutes, and the Hawks are looking virtually unstoppable at the halfway point of the season. This is a quintessential Horford line, blending nice numbers with even nicer efficiency, and he's staked himself to top-20 value in 9-cat leagues.
Jan 25 - 8:56 PM

Robbie Hummel suffered a broken hand during Sunday's game against the Hawks, and he is expected to be out for 4-6 weeks.

It's a tough blow for Minnesota, as they can't seem to catch a break with injuries this season. By the time he returns to action in March, Minnesota will likely have Shabazz Muhammad (abdominals) and Kevin Martin (wrist) back into their rotation, so Hummel can be dropped in almost all leagues. Chase Budinger should pick up a few extra minutes off the bench in the meantime.
Jan 25 - 8:51 PM

Nikola Pekovic played a season-high 36 minutes in his return to the starting lineup, finishing Sunday's road loss with 15 points, three rebounds, one assist and zero blocks.

The Wolves have limited Pek's playing time as a precaution all year and he's unlikely to top 32 minutes very often. He made 4-of-10 field goals but knocked down 7-of-8 free throws, and owners couldn't have asked for more in his third game back from an ankle injury. Go ahead and get him into active lineups for the Wolves' upcoming four-game week.
Jan 25 - 8:39 PM

The Charlotte Hornets and the Brooklyn Nets have started trade conversations involving Joe Johnson and Lance Stephenson.

It's pretty obvious that the Hornets and Lance Stephenson aren't exactly on the same page, and with Brooklyn falling down the Eastern Conference standings it's not surprising to see them so open to moving Johnson's massive contract. Gerald Henderson and Marvin Williams are also said to be in the discussion, so this is definitely a move that could have some fantasy implications. Johnson's value would be fine in Charlotte, while Stephenson should see a much larger role in Brooklyn should he be traded there. Stay tuned.
Jan 25 - 8:34 PM

Joey Dorsey will draw the start against the Lakers on Sunday in place of Dwight Howard (ankle).

Dorsey's game doesn't translate to fantasy very well, so he should only be considered in ridiculously deep leagues for owners in need of short-term value. The real beneficiaries in Howard's absence will be Donatas Motiejunas and Josh Smith.
Jan 25 - 8:14 PM

Robbie Hummel left Sunday's game against the Hawks with a hand injury and did not return, finishing with nine points, four boards, one assist and one 3-pointer in 23 minutes.

He lost his starting spot on Sunday with Minnesota opting to pair Nikola Pekovic and Gorgui Dieng together in the frontcourt, so his value was already trending down prior to the injury. We will consider him day-to-day until we get an update on his status, and we would expect Chase Budinger to pick up a few extra minutes off the bench if Hummel has to miss any additional time.
